Recommended Reading (Patreon)

A quick recommended reading since we haven’t had one in a minute.  Sci-fi fans are already probably familiar with this series, but if you aren’t, you should definitely give it a look. These books are a fantastic blend of sword and sorcery and classic sci-fi, bringing out the best elements of both.  The first book is a collection of loosely connected short stories set in the Earth’s far future as the sun is burning out, and the line between science and magic has blurred. The other three books in the series are more traditional novels that further explore the world.   

Considering the first book came out in the 50s, Vance was way ahead of his time.  (And for fellow D&D nerds, this is where they got the rules for how magic works in that game.)  It’s well worth a look for the ideas and settings alone.
