Hey this is kinda random, but throughout the series there will be a panda man easter egg, in which a random background character will be a panda guy. at 35:16 you see him in the background of the restaurant. Also panda branded clothing that you pointed out on Sanji's apron in one reaction will be a reappearing easter egg. The author likes to hide him throughout the series for fun.

Fun fact: pirates historically would carry multiple guns because they needed a long time to be reloaded, so firing multiple guns already loaded was faster than reloading the same gun. In the One Piece world, though, fire weapons can fire multiple times even if they look like flintocks. Also, the fisherman who talked to Sanji at the market is 1/4 a fishman (you can see a fin behind his head). There are also some other easter egg characters here, but it's not worth explaining. Yasop is a bad dad :P

What's funny is that people call this filler...and you know maybe it is, but compare to it's contemporaries at the time. By those standards is this filler? Also this episode is so in line with Usopp and Sanji and ones like this really show you who they are and what motivates them, rather than just having different flavor of fighters who are obviously inferior to MC until we eventually get to the point where everyone questions why they even bother showing up when they're not MC or a newer character... *Looking at you DBZ*

Part of these episodes were based on cut content that Oda wanted to include in the manga, so they start on a solid basis. The best fillers in later episodes are IMHO also those very character focus/driven. Sadly, modern One Piece decide to use reaction shots and PowerPoint camera work as filler time for their episodes... fortunately, in the most recent saga there are some sparks of creativity at least.

so episode 50 is technically filler, but it's semi-canon filler. the cowboy is a character Oda conceptualized and was going to be in the manga but he cut the idea.

It's funny, isn't it? Newcomers look at the show and say, "That's a bazillion episodes! I can't catch up to that! It's impossible!" But then they start and before you know it, they're 50 episodes in... Then 100. Before long, they're at the half way point and all of a sudden that "impossible" goal gets closer and closer. Perfectly sums up the point of the series, really. Chasing after the impossible until you can finally catch it.

Fun Fact about this episode while the story with Daddy the parent doesn't appeared in the manga Oda wanted to include but he couldn't cause he wanted the crew to make it to the grandline before the 100th chapters

joined recently again after going off when you stopped reacting to shows I like, I am a selfish ass like that. xD But these One Piece reactions truly give me life, so will be subbed for the forseeable future, I really really like you also watching the opening each time, I feel it is part of the experience and helps building the hype.
