Bakugo is one of the best characters in mha. But despite that, as someone who’s been in Deku’s shoes. I really think he’s a piece of shit, and yeah it’s not entirely his fault because of his own mentality that was enforced by the hero society as a whole, but at the same time I can’t help but look at him and think of of how he scuicide baited Deku in episode 1. And obviously I’m biased in my view of him, but I really appreciate your insight into his character since while he was a purge of shit he has learned and grown slightly in his own way.

Bakugo out here beating kids like his insecurities are their problem <3 go off king.

Nytalis

Bakugo's a well written character, still don't like him at all lol

Luffyiscool

There's something unintentionally hilarious about having a heartfelt speech (which was dope btw) while Bakugo's scary STFU face is sitting beside you XD

I gotta say my one gripe with the test for Deku and Bakugo is the way heavier lifting Deku does emotionally as a team compared to Bakugo. He gets treated with kid gloves compared to Deku or Shoto. Attacking someone’s ego/pride can only be done so much.

One thing that was hinted in the sports festival and revealed here is that Bakugo had to really hurt himself to beat Ochaco. She pushed him to his limit and he had to use this move that fucks up his arm just to beat her.

I feel All Might takes joy in playing the villain

I didn't think you were talking about me ... but I was eating cheese.

Alicia really used the word mansplaining... Let that sink in

My favorite thing about Deku is that his admiration for All Might is also his biggest character flaw. Deku kept emulating how All Might used his quirk even though it would devistate his own body, and it wasn't until he was being mentored by someone else that he found a way to make that quirk his own. Similarly, during the practical exam, his glorification of All Mights power blinded him to any other solution than to run away until Bakugo gave him a reality check. In any other situation Deku would have used his adaptability and analytical skills to try and overcome the problem ahead of him instead of running away from it.

This is one of the episodes that got me to start liking Bakugo. I think the first one was his fight with Ochaco, when he was baffled how anyone could possibly think she was frail.

My Hero Origin episodes arent usually just flashbacks, they just signify the signifying moment where someone truly starts going on the path of hero, the 1st episode of the show was Midorya Origin

And this is why My Hero Academia is an anime with an important Dueteragonist, you pretty much nailed it on the head with analyzing Bakugo's characters. Horikoshi made plenty sure to treat this character carefully and one he does a lot of cooking for since as All Might said this exam is going to sever towards a bigger step in the relationship and bond between Deku and Bakugo. I'm looking forward to you seeing him in season 3 cuz things only keep being great. Aside from that I'll share some fun facts with Bakugo, the beta version of Bakugo overall kept a consistent design but he was leaning towards being the cheerful clever type of character. Its such a juxtaposition that when looking back the old concept art Horikoshi states how much he hates that old version of Bakugo.

I feel like All Might and Bakugo have more in common than they realize. While all might smiles to trick the fear inside of him, Bakugo says he is number one and the best to will it into existence, to make himself believe the lie until he reaches the top. Now to sit back and wait for alicia to get into later seasons :3

Ohhhh that character analysis... so perfect!! I know I just brought it up, but man would I love you tackling MLP, the character work and arcs in that are so good... but really mostly just to get your take on one specific secondary character that is introduced just as the requisite school bully, and where things go with them...

Rat#394

Yeah, this one viewer knows he's a rat bastard.

Honestly one of my bigger problems on the Izuku and Bakugou dynamic is how much of the “problem” is thrust onto Izuku’s shoulders by the characters in the show. Like Izuku has tried being nice, Izuku has tried leaving him alone, and people in the show still talk like their dysfunctional relationship is even remotely izuku’s fault. I’m not saying bakugou doesn’t have his reasons, even if I personally think the reasons are shaky at best, I just wish they didn’t try to heap Izuku with the responsibility of “fixing” Bakugou.

You probably don't read comments this far back but on your explanation of Miko Iino you kept talking about why it was rude of her to try and dictate dress code, but that's kind of her job gave to her by the school though. She was part of the public morals committee their job was to police students breaking rules, though I think this is only a thing in Japan, where I am from it's up to the teachers to enforce so that the kind of retaliation she experienced doesn't happen. On a kind of side note I don't know how strict your dress code is in American schools but the reason dress codes are in place is typically to lower bullying based on fashion choice and wealth, as well as to make it easier to identify students causing trouble in uniforms out of school. Sorry if this is totally irrelevant since I am sure a lot of people have already said similar stuff on the actual reaction to Kaguya sama.
