Hi all — I'm currently in the process of moving, and that means I'm going to have limited access to video and audio equipment for the next six weeks. But I'm determined not to let my output here slow down despite this! So please enjoy this retrospective on Battleship — as with all Game Boy World entries, the written retrospective is different (and comes at the game in question from a different angle) than the video. I'm also having trouble getting a hold of the last couple of items I need for the Game Boy World book, but: IF the book ends up being delayed, I'll push the Patreon-exclusive mini-zine forward to February so that you'll have some new content to read regardless. Expect the backer-exclusive video to appear sometime this month, too!

Battleship

A popular trick among Western video game publishers during the late '80s and early '90s in particular was to buy up a popular license - whether for a toy, a film, a TV series, or some other more esoteric media property - and attach it to an existing Japanese game.
