It did not sit well with me that my attempt to revisit the Game Boy was wrecked by technical failings. That video should have been a milestone video for this documentary project! So—now that I have a replacement audio mixer in hand, I re-recorded the voiceover track and remastered the video from two weeks ago. The audio still isn't perfect as I'm getting a handle on the workings on the new gear, but it's still an improvement. The overall read is better, too. Snappier and more concise, with some errors and flubs corrected.

New episode tomorrow. This is just an old ("old") one, revamped.

Second coming: The Game Boy | Game Boy Works Vol. 2 001

First, apologies for the slightly rough voiceover sound here. I'm in the process of replacing my burnt-out mixing board. Believe it or not, this was the most usable of three takes. Secondly, yes, I've already published a Game Boy system retrospective. About 10 years ago. This video covers the U.S. launch of the system rather than the Japanese—obviously it touches on a lot of the same material, but from a different angle... and with the added insight and detail that I've gleaned in a decade of putting together weekly retrospectives on systems from this era. Great episode going through it all. I noticed one tiny error - you say that Pokemon didn't arrive until 1988 (At 19:33), rather than 1998. Otherwise, fantastic! :)

Such a pivotal and fun episode -- It really benefits from the extra care.
