The reason future Lucy wants to see her guild mark is because she doesn’t have her hand anymore, she is also malnourished which is why when nastu picked her up he called her light. Also the outro for this episode was future lucy meeting up with everyone in the afterlife

Man. The first time I watched this back in 2014, I had all the moments between Happy and Lucy flood back into my memory and it hit even more. Him talking shit and her chasing his around. I love their dynamic so much.

Natsu Dub: "Then I'm going to turn fate, INTO A PILE OF ASHES! Everytime throughout the series whenever Lucy's life was threatened he would always threaten to turn the people to ash. It's subtle but from now on throughout the series whenever there's a dangerous situation Natsu's first instinct is to raise his arm up to defend Lucy. He failed once and isn't ready for that to happen again

also, lucy wanted to see her guild mark one last time because she lost her hand when the dragons destroyed the country, you see that in the first episode of this season where it was shown that her hand was on the ground but when the camera panned to Lucy she was sitting and a rock was censoring her arm, it was basically a dark Easter egg which a lot of people miss, i can't imagine how she would've reacted when her arm was lost that's.... disturbing...

I always assumed the "light" was literally because she's lost her arm. Which yano, would account for a decent bit of weight. Though I suppose, with Happy's remark of "she finally found a diet that works" and the diet is literal starvation....they're both kinda equally dark levels of humor
