So, I was rummaging through my hard drive with the intention on finding the very, very VERY first iteration of Rejuvenation ever. I did find what I was looking for, but I actually also find a version of Rejuv that I thought was lost to time! You can get that here.

It's pretty bad, and there's no real benefit from playing it, but it's cool to see where Rejuv started.

But onto the REAL content.

There was one build of rejuv I made where I was just throwing stuff together and seeing what stuck (Most didn't), and I can really tell that I just had, like, no talent for this in the beginning lol. Let's start with the intro.

GOD, not the Danganronpa 1 music here. I did mention that this game started off as Nancy/Curtis, right? I think I might have been slightly wrong there because obviously Nancy is the "mom" here. Maybe it was a story about their children??

Either way, the story here is the same as usual. Except your mother gets kidnapped mid intro call. Talk about rude! Anyways, there's a line that was always so legendary that it made me cringe:

And she was so right for this. Kidnapping relatives isn't cash money of anyone.

I think the "twist" I had in mind was that the kidnapper was also your estranged father who was missing and yada yada yawn, boringg. Nothing exciting at all.
Anyway, as you can see by the event warp, you end up in Entry City right after.

This is Entry City.
Entry City is the first map I've ever done. This is what Gearen City was before it existed! You can tell that it keeps some of the same elements of Gearen City. The lab is here, there's a port area when you got off the boat.

Tbh, I feel like I had no spatial awareness when it came to mapping, at this point. Everything is so huge and spaced out and ??? Why was I so obsessed on mapping everything so huge? You could tell I was trying to copy Reborn's gritty style, but I couldn't get colors to work together quite yet.

Next up we gooooot, this map

Entry Lab....?? I don't think I understood I could just use black tiles as a border, so i filled the entire map. As you can see it's very large, boring, and has nothing of value.

Do I really have to explain this one? lol. This is the original Goldenwood Forest map. Obviously, besides the colors of the map, it's quite different. I still remember the bridge causing me so much pain because I couldnt figure out how to get the player to walk on it.

The events here played out the same in the base game except for one key difference.

Miss Melly here was... an actual Gym Leader! And she gave out the Mapleleaf badge?? I seriously don't remember that part, but it's here!
I think this old sprite was deleted by mistake in v12, but other than that, this old sprite has been here since the beginning. If you ever saw this file in characters folder and was like who tf is this... Here's your answer! It's Beta Melia lol. Her personality was quite different,

Okay so after you battle Melia here, the forest gets attacked as normal,
you go through fighting team xen (team rocket sprites at this point), and fight Zet... Zetta? Hello? Zetta where are you?

wait...

who the HECK is AIKURO..............

And why are they such a pansy. I truly had no idea what was going on here.
I don't think there was any real story at this point...

Anyway, I have a version that goes a bit further than this, but I'll save that for another time. I just wanted to give a quick look into what this old build looked like. It didn't have much, but I hope you all found this interesting!

Thank you guys for supporting me and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!
