I loved this episode too. One fun little tidbit you didn't comment on is Bruckman's response when Skully asks how she dies. He tells her, "You Don't" I've mentioned this before, but the theming and style of this episode is right out of X-Files sister series Millennium. Kind of the Angel and Buffy relationship but with only one crossover. The Monty Propps case, the one that made Mulder's career before the show started, has links to the main antagonist of Millennium. If you're interested in that one it is best to start it along with Season 4 of X-files.

A stand-out episode from one of the best x-files writers. I especially love how Mulder and Scully are portrayed. Mulder believes Clyde so he uses him as a means to an end, whereas because Scully doesn't believe him, she approaches him with compassion.

Geonn Cannon

"This episode is kind of dark." Un-fun fact, the writer of this episode was suffering from depression when he wrote it, and that colored a lot of the themes and developments.

Lady Beyond The Wall

Definitely love this episode. Totally forgot this is the episode where Scully gets her dog and that it previously ate its owner 😂 And lmao, he didn't say Mulder would be fixated on something, he said "auto-erotic asphyxiation", which is fucking hilarious and seems like a Mulder thing to do for some reason. I also love the writer Darin Morgan. He writes a few more episodes this season that I'm incredibly excited for.

Flora Smith

This episode won the Emmy for best writing in a drama (which was quite a coup for a genre show) and best guest actor for Peter Boyle

Notice that Scully kept Bruckman's dog

"Oh it's juts, sometimes it seems like everyone is having sex but me" Lol, I remember that line like it was yesterday. That and the fat little white nazi stormtrooper. Very memorable episode overall, and very much in the era of X Files embracing and having fun with it's weirdness. I feel really bad for a life insurance salesman of all people being able to see how people will die. I'm 50/50 on the end though. When Clyde saw Mulder getting his throat cut and didn't tell him, simply saying it was the delusions of a madman, was he just trying to spare Mulder knowing, or did he mean he just saw the way the killer imagined it. Hopefully the former, as it would mean the future isn't predetermined. Question to the Star Trek fans here. Is it just me, or is that Tom Paris in the "Stupendous Yappi" commercial at the end, sitting with the woman by the fire?

The actor who plays Yappi was also David Duchovny's stand in on the show.
