Gold Bet
Vilnius FK Zalgiris v FC Struga Trim Lum. Vilnius over 1.5 TT. -140. 12pm ET. Champions League
- This is all about home field advantage, home field supporters, and European experience. Zalgiris is one of the more seasoned teams in this competition and simply just outclass Struga through and through. Zalgiris Stadium is a bitch of a place to play, is not an easy travel in Lithuania and the fans are rambunctious. This side is on an 8 unbeaten run coming into this where their last four wins straight saw them score over 1.5 TT, with 3, 4, 5 and 2 goals. Struga is fine but really should get buried in this first leg, I think to the point where the second leg is irrelevant.
Score prediction 2-0/3-0 Vilnius
Silver Bet
KF Ballkani v Ludogorets Razgrad. Ludogorets over 1.5 TT. -110. 2:45pm ET. UEFA Champions League
- If this was Ludogorets at home in the first leg, I'd bet them to score 3 or 4 here. This is basically two teams that really only know how to attack. Ludogorets on paper decimates Ballkani. Bulgaria league is better than Kosovo. Even in the Kosovo league BAlkani, while winning, doesn't really play defense. A big reason I'm leaning on Ludo here, even on the road, is European experience. This is the team that just last season, in Europa league, scored against Roma, HJK, Real Betis, Dinamo Zagreb and more. This team doesn't really give a damn if you play on the road or at home, they're just going to go for goals.
Score prediction. 2-1/3-1. Ludogorets win
Bronze Bet
Olimpija Ljublana v Valmiera FC. Over 2.5 goals. -135. 2pm ET. Champions League
- Olimpija Finished top of the Slovenian PrvaLiga, even with ending the season in poor form. They've recently swappened managers which fans aren't happy about, but fans are happy that the team will be trying to qualify for UCL qualifiers for the first time ever, and the team they drew is one of the teams that's even worse than them. Olimpija manager has been having them take friendlies extremely seriously, and we've seen them win all three of their friendlies to prep for this, beating Hajduk Split and outscoring their opponents 9-3. Not the best defense here but this is a team that will not slow down, at home, as they look to take on a Valmiera team in Latvia who just beat down Tukums 6-0. Olimpija could cover this 2.5 goals by themselves, but even though BTTS odds at +110, momentum is huge for Valmiera who know if they can keep this game close, they have a chance for an upset on home turf in that second leg.
Score Prediction 3-0/3-1. Olimpija
Fun Parlay Time
Kl Klaksvik v Ferenvarosi. BTTS + Over 2.5 goals. +175. 2:45pm ET. Champions League
Klaksvik Form and 1 st Leg Home Importance
Now the odds don't lie: Klaksvik are a heavy underdog here, even though they're playing at home. Books are currently looking at Kl as a +500 underdog as the best Faroe Islands has to offer tries to show up and represent. While the line is understandable, between you and me, I think the books are missing the mark here just a bit. We need to emphasize the importance of the fact this is a 2-leg competition, and Kl knows if they can't score or get a goal at home, they're basically washed here. Expect the hosts to come out guns blazing and show the world they are not a pushover here, as they look to continue their 11-game win streak. I don't know if they have what it takes to win this outright, but a goal, at home, in the first leg, is massively possible considering their good form, difficulty playing at their stadium, and a shaky defense from Ferencvaros.
Ferencvaros Form and First Leg Favorites
I will be saying this in all my articles for this competition, don't underestimate how important home-field advantage is in the first leg. Kl knows that they are going to get washed on the road, so this is the game they'll show up for goals. With that being said, Feren should win this game, but looking at their roster changes, I don't think it comes in the form of a clean sheet. Feren said goodbye to a plethora of players including ex-Liverpool goalie Adam Bogdan. They also lost Balint Vecsei and Adnan Kovacevic. This team is basically completely re-vamping their backline, and while their attack is still beyond deadly, they're going to leak goals while they find their composure.
