1. At the very beginning of this season we see Cara immediately recognizing and correctly naming various kinds of plants and animals native to Laconia around her. Clearly she’s familiar with them. But when the "dog" appears she says, "What are you?" Apparently she’s never seen anything like it before. It’s something new. 2. In this episode the Martian schoolteacher, who recently arrived on Laconia with the Martian fleet, asks the kids of the long time settlers "if there’s anything that seems different or changed, especially in the last few weeks". 3. We know that a small amount of protomolecule is capable of activating a whole protomolecule-infested planet. That's what happened on Ilus; the small blob of goo hiding on the Rocinante did the job. Now in the season 5 finale, there was this scene of Cortázar reporting to Admiral Sauveterre about the protomolecule sample having arrived safely on Laconia, and he saying that he was already "seeing beautiful results." 4. Go figure.
