West Side Story "Impossible Solo" Transcription No. 3 (Patreon)

Hi everyone. Here's the 3rd part. This is the part where Buddy plays the bass drum with a stick. I wrote it as just above the normal kick note. As transcribing this phrase, I have noticed that this phrase was a simple triple-note phrases that are used very frequently in his solo.

Also the interesting thing was that most 16 note rolls were played by using double stroke or some kind of paradiddles. Using this phrase shortly at the beginning of triplet rolls is pretty common not only in this solo but also many others. Gene Krupa also uses this type of phrases often.

At the end of this part, there are several triple-note phrases are played continuously, which makes it very hard to follow although each of them are pretty simple.

こんにちは。遅くなりましたがパート３です。ここで初めてバディの有名な、バスドラムをスティックで叩くフレーズが登場します。バスドラムをスティックで叩くときの記譜は通常のバスドラムの音符の一度上にしました。この部分を耳コピしてみると、このバスドラを叩くフレーズは割とシンプルな3拍フレーズであることがわかります。

また、これだけに限りませんが、16分のロールは基本的にシングルストロークではなく、ダブルストロークかパラディドルで演奏されていることもポイントとして挙げられます。そして、このようなロールを3連ロールの頭に入れて勢いを出す、もしくはロールの途中に入れ込むなどもよく使われるテクニックです。ジーンクルーパも多用しているフレーズですね。

このパートの最後にはまた3拍フレーズを4拍目から始めるというバディリッチあるあるな手法を使った上に、さらにまた違う３拍フレーズを繋げることで（次回の譜面に記載）より複雑な構成にしてあります。ただ、それぞれをみると割とシンプルなフレーズになっています。
