The japanese are pretty obsessive over their characters and the "Kawaii" innocent girls are among the most popular ones. For some reason all the creators love to bring up the same "joke" to show the audience how innocent the heroine is.

the kissing and get pregnant thing, i don't think is a japanese humor thing. both emilia and raphtalia have the mind set of a little kid and when i was a kid, i thought kids were born by two ppl hugging and kissing so im pretty sure all kids thinks that how babies were born. emilia was frozen since she was a kid so obviously when she came out she still thinks like a kid and raphtailia body may have grown but her mindset sure didn't.
