Nekoma appears! And with it, a monstrous presence lurks just beneath the surface. You can underestimate the cat, but know that its eyes have already taken notice.

This episode (and 1x21) made me into a Suga fan, haha, but everyone you said you wanted more from will eventually get their own arcs, some sooner than others. :) Anyway, I'm not sure why it's so satisfying to watch a Haikyuu reactor who actually can take in the action and themes in real time, who really "gets it," but it really is, haha. Especially for the Hinata-Kenma and Ukai-Sugawara interactions, the second years, and the need to lose, it's great that there's genuine impact because you get what this is really about. (Although I'm not on board with calling Oikawa a 'good guy.' I like Oikawa, but I think he's kind of a dick, haha) A few language nerd notes: - 19:30, Daichi says "kiai ireru-zo," which they subtitle as "I'm going to get fired up," but I think that's more meant as a command to Asahi. "Kiai" means like, 'all you've got,' so basically, he's telling Asahi, "no more messing around. We've gotta win as many as we can (for Suga)." - 20:29, Noya (who's #4, by the way) apparently has a fully stocked wardrobe of plain white t-shirts with different yojijukugo on them, haha. I never realized until now how many different ones there were. This one was 徹頭徹尾, 'tettou-tetsubi,' which is basically just a fancy way of saying "dotting your i's and crossing your t's." Literally, it's "all the way through the head, all the way through the tail." Noya also says yojijukugo often aloud, like at 21:17, talking about how if Ennoshita got better, he'd take Asahi/Tanaka's place 'seisei-doudou' 正々堂々: 'fair-and-square.' - At the risk of being overly obnoxious, the word "kuyashii" (from back when Kindaichi talked about feeling "defeated" after hearing Kageyama say 'we') really does keep coming up, like in most shounen frankly. "Kuyashii" gets translated all sorts of different ways. (9:21 Ukai saying he felt "anguish" that he only got to start once in high school, 16:55 Hinata saying it makes him "mad" that he's only on the court because of Kageyama, 31:28 Yamamoto saying he'd be frustrated if Karasuno had a female manager even though Nekoma doesn't have one, etc.) All of those are all the same word/emotion.

i really liked that you noticed kenmas eyes looking like a cat!! that's a recurring thing with lots of characters in the future, so it's definitely good to pay attention to character design choices like that! in a similar way that karasuna uses crow symbolism there's lots more in that vein to come :D and ur right to keep ur eyes on kenma 👀👀 your thoughts on winning and losing from a narrative standpoint are interesting to listen to, and i rly think u will have a lot to talk about on that topic as u keep watching
