Nope your spot on with God killing Wrath. Sun and moon over lap ( meet) to make the eclipse.( Representing god in alchemy) God was the catalyst in return the soul back to their body'. Just before the eclipse ending blinding Wrath. Not to mention the moon shining down on Wrath as he dies making a circle around his body. Plus Scar was a monk/priest of Ishval literally striking the finishing blow. Fmab is a master class in writing a well crafted story.
