So Hitchcock invented the West Wing "walk and talk" filming style.

I'm disappointed no-one was Australian here. Or at least, no-one putting on a bad accent. 😅 It would have been hilarious seeing Bergman talk like an Aussie!

I've never seen this film, and may never see it, but I'm glad to have learned about it. Thanks for expanding my horizons!

Robin, you've obviously got more than enough on your plate, but have you ever considered doing something similar for Hitchcock's TV show?

Graham is always pushing for a series looking at episodes of anthology TV shows but I always say I don't have time. When we can quit our respective day jobs then maybe. rb

Have to say I agree about this film. I saw it when there was a run on Hitchcock films on FilmFour or TCM (both did runs for his centenary) and I never thought about watching it again. He did sometimes revisit the long takes, 'Marnie' is one example. But later it was used sparingly. Which made it effective.

To date, I have still not seen Under Capricorn and mostly because of its poor reputation. However, until I saw Robin's video, I never knew why the film had this poor reputation. So kudos to Robin for putting together another informative video. Now I know what to expect if I finally choose to see the film. I think it is nice to know that Hitchcock wanted to do the film as a tribute to his friend and the book's author.
