"The Trent is Getting Ready Song" is on my playlist for the sheer hilarity of it. When it starts, I think it's the regular Sexy Getting Ready Song, but then Trent's voice kicks in. So hilarious, "he's so normal". What's great about this show is that it's cringey, but it KNOWS it's cringey. It gives us Trent as a mirror for Rebecca, and you have someone like Heather pointing out all of the uncomfortable stuff to really highlight to the viewer, "Yeah, we know. It's uncomfortable."

I can't disagree about the cringiness (I haven't rewatched this episode in a while, and... yikes), but I'm glad you both are taking it in an appropriate way, appreciating the quality of the writing and understanding that it's part of the 4-season journey. I want to reiterate how much I enjoy re-experiencing it with the two of you; good times indeed. Musically, "Friendtopia" is a Spice Girls joint (they put on British accents, and call themselves out as "the sexy one" etc.), and you immediately knew the source of "Stuck in the Bathroom." Not forgetting "The Trent Is Getting Ready Song."

By the way, I recently attended a musicology conference, and one of the presentations was about the music in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (the re-use of songs as background music in later episodes). It was by no means the first scholarly examination of the songs in the series either; CXG has become quite an object of musical study.
