Hey hey y'all!!

We're back with another super fun episode of Loki!

Hang with Sean, Dustin, and Morgan we see what Sylvie is all about, what she wants, and how she and Loki will help (or hurt) each other to get it!

Would Morgan make a good Hip Hop MC? WHERE THE FUCK DID THEY FIND ALL THESE VARIANTS TO MAN THE TVA? And why is Sean SO ON BOARD with there being a Chicken-Loki, for seemingly no reason!

I just did not like this episode...like at all. While I appreciate the gesture of explicitly stating that a major Marvel character is LGBT, I found the way they incorporated it extremely clunky. Instead of showing Loki having an interest in men, they have him abruptly ask Sylvie about her love life, with the real intention of her turning the question back at him. Their situation seems way too dire and they were still too distrustful of each other for that to be where their first real conversation goes. This is also a trend with Disney and other media where they just mention that characters are gay without showing it or incorporating it into their character past that. It's pretty clear to me that they want to have their cake and eat it too; cash out on LGBT representation during Pride Month without having to commit to it being a relevant part of the story, so they don't alienate conservatives in America and homophobic people around the world in general. What I really couldn't handle was the fact that they are seen struggling in hand to hand combat with regular people...I know Loki's strength isn't, well, strength, but he should not be in an even fist fight with a human. Why would he when they really show the extent of his power this episode? He goes from fist fighting to stopping a huge building from falling on them in the same scene. Can you imagine Magneto trying to fist fight someone? It's just odd. And I actually started yelling at my TV when they were just walking the whole way to steal the ship. Like, if they had ran, they might have gotten to it on time. I'm not saying that the story should go that route, just it's ridiculous that a supposedly dire situation is not being taken seriously by the main characters. They're about to die and they're just walking with absolutely zero urgency. The writing seemed really weird and nowhere near the level of WandaVision or FATWS. I can't put my finger on it, but a lot of the dialogue just seemed completely inorganic as well.

yea this episode was a lil wonky. and i still havent adapted to this thing disney+ shows do where the runtime is whatever depending on the episode. i guess thats better for creative purposes, but it just makes it feel inconsistent. fun stuff tho..

dont worry sean i liked ur loki chicken idea. we need to see him turn into somethin like that by the end of the series.

Yeah inorganic dialogue is actually a perfect description. It was a bit jarring and stuttering at times and I didn't buy that they had chemistry. They leaned too much into the Doctor Who back and forth dynamic but that only really works because those characters were quirky and eccentric, I don't think it really fits in this context as we haven't established any characters to have those same foibles.

"He's doing a thing! ... or he's just drunk" and "2 lit 2 do shit" are strong friday night vibes

I can see some issues, but we had a perfectly nice time with it, on par with last weeks except no real BIG jaw dropper of a moment. All character, which I understand cause they needed to strengthen that upfront to make everything else work between them later!
