Hello there Patrons!

We're here with a double helping of HIGH REPUBLIC ERA Star Wars, aka, there ain't no Skywalkers or Papa Palpys or nun'that stuff with The Acolyte!

Built from the ground up as a regular TV show by a professional Television Writer and ShowRunner, this is definitely more up our alley of story telling!

We got a VERY intriguing murder mystery within A Galaxy Far Far Away (no, not like that. not like Attack of the Clones) and some sorta bumbly plot spatial stuff aside, it's really engaging!

It takes a min to dawn on us but we piece it together that we got TWINS on our hands! And we're very suspect of these visions! Like they are obviously of this mfin' Darksided fella right?

Very cool and expanded usage of the force throughout, we need SO MUCH MORE OF THIS!

Really digging the cast, especially Osha/Mae, Sol and THIS JEDI WOOKIE!?!

And last but not least:

WHAT IN THE HOLY HOTH DID THESE 4 JEDI DO!?!?

We got Tommen of House Baratheon offing himself yet again on screen because of the shame of what was perpetrated all those years ago!

Got some more stuff dropping tomorrow! Keep an eye out!

xoxo,

Cool so far, I wish the performances from some of the cast were a bit more naturalistic. I have definitely been spoiled by Andor and even Bad Batch, which are probably my favorite of the new Star Wars stuff. I'm not dick riding for Filoni because for all the cool things he has done for modern Star Wars there is a lot of cringe shit. Credit where it is due though, because Filoni took the Prequels which I was, at best, ambivalent about and delivered some really good Star Wars; especially in the later seasons of Clone Wars and pretty much all of Bad Batch. The cuts in the Mae vs. Sol fight were a bit wonky, like they didn't get good coverage or the choreography of the fight didn't come together well in the wider shots. Didn't really sell the tension at all in the fight. Yord's use of the macro binoculars was a bit wonky too, it was like Obi-wan levels of silly that he was using them at that range for seemingly no reason. It'd be like me using binoculars to look at my mailbox, such an odd choice. An issue I have with most Star Wars after the originals trilogy is that they are painfully aware that they are Star Wars. That being said I dig what they are going for and am 100% onboard for the rest.

AWARE of being Star Wars is a very specific but very perfect way to describe it and I get it.

Yeah, not quite fan service but a little too self-aware/self-serious. Made by fans of the material who are maybe a bit too close to it. Reminds of how if you have a friend who is showing you a movie they love for the first time but it gets ruined because you can feel them watching you the whole time. They want you to like it so bad that it kills the juice a little.

Really enjoyed these first two episodes, and it's refreshing to watch a show in this universe that feels like it was written by adults, and not a child smashing their favourite Star Wars toys together. The show seems to be setting up a critique of the Jedi becoming too bureaucratic and political, but I hope we also get to see them being good at Jedi stuff like diplomacy and peace keeping etc. We're told they've maintained peace and prosperity for centuries but we rarely see how they do that. I'm intrigued by the Dark siders. I really liked that monologue at the end, "kill the dream," that was sick. I guess the they have a beef with how the Jedi monopolize the Force, but if this really is a golden age than that's probably a good thing. Also, wild prediction, but I suspect the green Jedi lady is actually "He" the Dark sider. Probably wrong, but just the way they all know nothing about them other than that they're a he seems like a misdirect, and their voice modulation is pretty unisex. Also green lady just seems sus.

Now I know yall are watching this i can save my watches for the crew. Ep 2 was the stronger of the 2 for me. Major rant with spoilers: so in ep one when they came to arrest Osha, i was just PISSED. What kind of lazy cops are these? One eye witness so no investigation??? She has employees and employers who can account for her whereabouts PLUS you have jedi mind powers to see if they are telling the truth PLUS droids/computers you can check and prove she has not left the ship yet you didnt do ANY of that? Not even ask if there is someone who looks like her??? Add on that at one time they were colleagues and its even dumber. BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!

Can this lady just wake up like a normal person or does it always have to be that dramatic?

Travis Lee

Awe man, I figured Trinity would be a main character. Kind of bummed but it was good overall.

Da Big Appa

For the show I am keeping my expectations low and so far am happy with it. For the group I love the banter and thanks for the fun reaction.

This is why you guys are the best, keeping it real. In love with this show and Yord!! Cant wait to see next weeks with y'all <3

oh Green Lady is a TOTAL company Man vibe. Def Neo-Lib "we're here to help" but also not giving a fuck and very much a part of the machine

SeanTankTop

if you're constnatly having fire flashback parent murder dreams that might be the chillest way to do it

SeanTankTop

hahahah, i think she was coming in for a trial of sorts, but I get it, and I think that speaks to how much of a fucking nerd, try hard Yord is.
