We're back with some JJK and good lord yall!

THEY REALLY MAKE IT CLEAR that some SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN with Gojo!

Geto and the rest of the group finally begin to spring their trap with Gojo taking on Hanami and Jogo on the train platform and it's an incredible fight!

Some fun bits of domain and technique chess happen and Gojo RIPS THE ROOTS FROM HANAMI'S FACE and Morgan is a lil' sad about it.

But Geto shows up and confuses tf out of GoJo and we got a BRAIN SWAP GETO! We're a lil mum on this turn as it sorta takes away from the core character element between the two!

All this happens right before the final trap gets sprung and Satoru Gojo is sealed in the PRISON REALM!

Okay now that you guys are here. Geto died at the end of JJK 0 the movie, we also do not know the last words Gojo uttered to Geto, their story is not done. Without giving spoilers. I understand Morgan's sentiment about it not being as interesting if it's another thing inside Geto. Everything that happened between Geto & Gojo still effects Gojo. Geto also posed to Gojo a question "is he the strongest because he's Saturo Gojo or is he Saturo Gojo because he is the strongest?". The back story will still play a role. That was def more of a way to develop Gojo's back story. Remember they are not the main characters; all these threads will come together further down the line.

Yes all throughout season 1 Geto was not Geto. Geto was always interested in the wellbeing of his fellow sorcerers so it was strange how in season 1 he was so willing to collaborate with curses and showed no regards towards sorcerers. So yeah Geto's actions are all his and it doesn't diminish his character arc in Hidden Inventory and JJK 0

Let me try to clarify the timeline a little by putting it chronologically: - The start of season 2 was a flashback of Gojo and (the real) Geto's past together (2006) to help you understand their relationship better. Geto's entire mental breakdown was absolutely real. He actually went from that very compassionate and caring person to who we see later on, due to the events with Toji, Riko, the church, Haibara's death, finding the girls caged up, etc. We see bits and pieces from a few years in between, but not much. - Chronologically, the next thing that happens (after the flashback arc) is the movie, which occurs one year before we meet our main trio (2017). At the end of the movie, Yuta wins his fight against the REAL Geto, and then as Geto is badly injured and trying to escape, he runs into Gojo. Gojo talks to his real best friend one last time, and then *Gojo kills the real Geto*. He's actually dead now. Before Yuji even meets Megumi. - The following year (2018), Yuji becomes Sukuna's vessel, starting the series in season 1. At this point, "Geto" has stitches on his head, and is up and walking around. It's here where we first meet this brain character inside of Geto, but we don't know it's him. We just see Geto's face and assume he's a living person just walking around like normal. He is not. The real Geto has been dead for several months at this point. That is why this "Geto" is so adamant about staying hidden; because as far as Jujutsu High is aware, he's not a threat anymore. Because Gojo actually did kill him. To make it easy: if you see Geto WITHOUT stitches on his head, it's REALLY him. "Geto" with the stitches is being controlled by that brain who we just met. But the real Geto is actually dead at this point and has been for some time (since season 1); you can think of his body like a puppet that's being controlled. That's all. I hope this helps!

I think that the whole plot of Geto being dead is one of the boldest choice in the anime. They not only killed one of the most loved characters in the anime but also introduce a new villain that chances everything. Not mentioning the whole morbid idea of keeping the corpse of Geto and using it to afect Gojo

I think before any of comment about Morgans opinion, the very next episode is HUGE in showing that this is still very much a Gojo/Geto story! and also we have the benefit of watching this series backwards and forwards and have seen the rest of the season. (not that Morgans opinions are not Valid, she is allowed to think what she wants even after the next episode :) )

Lol So I did anticipate some confusion here. All good. Anyway looking forward to this! I think my first reaction was that I wasnt crazy about it not being Geto but it grew on me. The body horror stuff/creepy Pet Cemetery vibes of the best friend’s reanimated corpse really sells it for me so I’m fine with it. If it was just Geto being taken over I’d like it less. But the fact that his best friend was already dead and he’s just desecrating his dead corpse adds a layer of fucked up that makes it effective for me.

This was my take as well, I didn’t care for the main villain switcheroo but it mostly won me over. I’m still not sure if I’d prefer if it was just Geto but I suppose we (anime only’s) shall see where the story goes with it
