My observations... Song said there were six who survived from "that" dungeon, and when they reunited in front of the gate he said five of those survivors have reunited. Im sussing the last survivor who isn't here.

I feel like the Anime is making it better than it was in the Manhwa, in my opinion. They’re making it make more sense and they’re building up the other character’s too. The Manhwa was a little too Main Character focused and it didn’t touch up on the other characters well enough

That’s what I assumed they were doing but I think the manhwa’s structure was good and perfectly fine. It’s a very protagonist focused story and it works in my opinion. The anime’s take isn’t bad just different and kinda odd compared to the manhwa

The way I understand it is the call goes out to unaffiliated hunters in the local area, so their group probably sees each other often as they are all on the local calllist for when gates open in the zone. so it may seem like a coincidence but there have recently been a lot of hunter deaths which is also why they need to fill the ranks with prisoners. By hunter deaths we include the 7 local hunters of the strike team Jinwoo slaughtered.

First pick goes to guilds, if they dont want it then it gets handed off to striketeams and as time goes on and it gets closer to a dungeon break if noone has claimed it then the hunter association makes calls to get it cleared asap.

Also a fun little fact someone pointed out was that the person Mr Song was training with was an S class swordsman type hunter and he was praising mr Songs skill despite having only one arm. Thats why mr song questioned why he had awoken as a mage type hunter even though he was so skilled with the sword.
