He (Captain Morgan) also captured Zoro in the anime(albeit more indirectly through Helmeppo setting Zoro up). One Pace robbed you of that experience. This is what we mean when we say One Pace cuts a lot of context. One Pace rushed that part of the story. Consider that if you ever get tempted to switch back in the future... you will miss a lot of characterization. Great reaction! Next two arcs are goated :)

I love the fact that you like to pay close attention to details. One more confirmation this show is for you. The world building/story telling/easter eggs/foreshadowing in this show is better than in any show that i've ever watched. You wont notice most of these until you get into 100s of episodes. But knowing you guys like to make theories, you will love this journey.

These two episodes are what make me roll my eyes whenever people throw shade on the Syrup Village arc. Kuro being actually a threat, his crew turning on him, his backstory, and Kaya pulling out a gun. All great stuff, plus that track when it’s a Kaya scene is pretty dope lol Also, really good catch not only on the Captain Morgan connection, but on noticing that flash of caring about Kaya that Kuro had. It’s so quick but I think it’s super interesting they didnt just lean 100% into him being a cold killer.

are u gonna watch ep 19 again? because "one pace" version u saw didn't show everything, and that episode is soooo good. A lot of funny details in the Zoro backstory that gives him personality that they cut out in "one pace". I would really recommend watching either off cam or on cam. preferably on cam :)

There will be some let’s just say “Goofy” names in One Piece also some Badass ones This show is meant to be enjoyed, laughed at, adventurous. At the same time Cried at, Badass moments ect. This show is truly special as it a ride of all emotions I don’t know any show that’s like this adventure tbh I’m caught up to OP it’s in my top 5 but not my top 3 but that’s just me. I understand how ANYONE could say this is the best anime of all time.

Yeah sure but my point is that people really put down this arc in particular to the point where new reactors get that vibe too. My favorite arc is a while away, but there’s not one that I point at and think is bad.

One Piece does a lot of foreshadowing. Even the smallest things connect in the story later on. It's a journey. FYI a haramaki is the green belt like thing Zoro always wears around his belly, it's a belly warmer

Yeah, that Captain Morgan guy was the one who was rumoured to have “killed” Kuro (It was mentioned in the Live Action aswell). He was supposed to be a con artist/fraud who isn’t strong at all but the Live Action made him a lot stronger and made Zoro & Luffy have to team up to take him down, which didn’t make sense and I also kinda didn’t like tbh. I know they had to flesh out the story to make it interesting in a Live Action route but Luffy & Zoro having to team up against someone like that was kinda weird to see.

Loving your reactions to this btw, once you reach the part where you left off in the Live Action, you’ll love the characters, the world and the story. Every single Arc has atleast 3-4 iconic moments. Some of them are even Tattoo worthy 🤣

Not everyone likes the same things and that’s fine, but the show (manga especially) did a lot right and there’s a lot to love about it. There’s some genuine criticism to be had about it, but it’s lame to drop in to say it’s mid without giving reasons why.
