Dream of being a cowboy (Patreon)

Carl was always fascinated by the romance of the wild west and often in his childhood fantasized about how cool it would be to be a cowboy. Even then, the first advertising of the agency began, which used the technology of transferring consciousness to alternative worlds, some of which were like ours, but in earlier periods. In fact, it was like traveling back in time, only without the butterfly effect. Technology of transmission of consciousness (TTC) involved a temporary exchange of consciousness with a person from a parallel reality while your body was in a cryochamber at the same time as the consciousness of the person with whom you exchanged. However, this was, of course, a very, very expensive procedure comparable to a flight into space, so not even every rich person could afford it.

When Karl turned 22, he unexpectedly received a huge inheritance from his distant relatives, like in some movie. Having suddenly become rich, he began to spend money on quick entertainment and easily accessible women. And he now had the money to use the TTC to fulfill his dream of being a cowboy.

Unfortunately, something went wrong and Carl ended up in the body of 28-year-old Mindy Thompson, the wife of Ed Thompson, a 45-year-old farmer.

These were truly difficult days for Karl, who had to learn how to put on a dress correctly and regularly wear an uncomfortable corset. Medieval women's cosmetics also turned out to be very difficult to master, as well as working with hair and braids, which he had to braid in order to match the image and not become an outcast.

He was lucky that Ed was in “town” these days and was supposed to return to the farm only in a week. Karl hoped that this time they would learn to change something and would be able to give him the body of a cowboy or at least return his mind. But that didn't happen

A week later, Karl, looking displeasedly in the mirror, got dressed and prepared to meet his “husband,” realizing how “hungry” the man who had not seen his wife for so long would return. Every minute he expected that “she” would see a bright flash and again find herself in her real body. However, this did not happen and Karl already had the impression that he was really stuck here for the rest of his life. Being a "faithful farmer's wife in the wild west" is obviously not what Carl had in mind when he signed the contract with TTC and that he will have to get used to all these uncomfortable clothes and the name "Mindy"
