Emily, I sure hope you've fallen in love with your hair by now, because I sure have!

We really need an updated Song Battle ranking from tumblr. So much has happened since then.

You have built an amazing community and I love the positive vibes you always bring in your videos, everyone here is very respectful and can have differing opinions without being rude or disrespectful. Please never stop doing what you do or feel you have to change to appease people. I have no problem with the critisim or people being disappointed but I often feel a lot of people overreact just for attention or to be different, especially on certain social media, a lot of it is not constructive and just very negative! I am personally happy with the rerecording and after more listens it has grown on me even more, but of course i can accept that there are a lot of subtle changes and that some people may not like them - Although I would recommend for anyone to give it time before dismissing it or saying its been ruined.

Anonymous

I loooove the subtle differences!!!!! I can’t believe anyone’s mad about anything 1989 TV is PERFECT 😅

Would love to see a current ranking of all vault songs from the TVs or a top 10 ranking

Fahmeen

I’m not gonna lie I was super disappointed by a few songs on 1989 TV but the more I listen the more I get used to them! My only criticism with the vault tracks is that she didn’t explore any other topics 🫤 I just thought there would be more blank space- esque songs or about new york or friendship or something

Fahmeen

Gigi and zayn seem to be in a good place and are just coparenting khai so idk if that would be an issue. He just talked about it recently on a podcast and said they’re doing good. I love zayns vocals on IDWTLF so I hope he comes back 😭

I totally understand and agree on your point about the Vault! But I think that actually makes more sense because it explains why they were cut off from the original album and deluxe versions. I like what Bonny was saying, it didn’t fit with the image and narrative Taylor wanted to focus on after RED, so she did not include those More intimate and romance-focused songs (there are love songs on og 1989 of course, just not as vulnerable or ‘lovesick ‘lovelorn’ using Taylor’s words 🤭) to me, this all shows just how PERFECT of an album 1989 is 👌🏽

I am probably one of the older people of this channel (I’m 46). I still have a huge Pampers box of CDs in my closet that I loaded onto my computer years ago so I could then put them on my phone. I have an Apple Music sub, but I still buy the music outright that I want to keep forever, including Taylor’s. I recently bought an old Mini Cooper that has a CD player. I bought Taylor CDs that I didn’t have to listen to them in that car, so I have physical copies of all OG versions and TV. I am not primarily streaming anything, so if I want to listen to an older version, I do. What I am trying to get at with this: is the big issue people have with listening to older versions because they only access them through streaming? Like I understand supporting Taylor with the new ones, but are some having absolute fits thinking they can no longer (morally) listen to the older ones EVER so they want the new ones to sound exactly the same? (I hope this was an understandable explanation and question). It’s the same question I have about the songs that aren’t on streaming services. I listen to YLM bc I bought the single download from the merch site and added it to my phone.

I'm older than you! I think people want to feel that they are supporting Taylor and not putting money into the hands of the people who own her old recordings, so, yes, it is all about streaming. However, an individual stream makes so little money that, even if you streamed Taylor all day every day, you'd be lucky if she got 20 dollars out of it in a year. So, as usual,it is about the feelings, not the facts.

I am not musically inclined enough to notice the differences that people are complaining about, but I do find it interesting that she's continuing to work with Christopher Rowe past Red, since almost all of his production experience is with country music. That's quite a leap to 1989. She must really trust him, but I'm curious as to her decision making about that and I wonder if he'll do Rep as well. Anthony/theneedledrop discussed the production really well in his review of the album and it definitely made me think about it more!

Maybe I’m the only person to say this but for me Style TV hits different in the best way possible.. literally can’t stop listening to it since the TV came out.. i like it even more than the OG and I’m a swiftie since speak now era (the first one) so I’m very used to the stolen version and loved it very much.. I think the bass and the melodies with her matured voice hit even harder.. The hate makes me so sad and I have to be honest, I unfollowed so many so called fan pages from swifties, because they were so mad and so disrespectful and honestly so wrong in their arguments.. knowing that Taylor could see this makes me emotional, because it’s just not fair. If you don’t like the TV (or some songs of it) just listen to the stolen version if that’s for you, but do not get personal and stay reasonable!

alex

Also have to add: I’m just so happy this is such an positive place!🩵

the start of the vid is so valid and a lot of 'Swifties' need to hear it, I totally agree people are becoming entitled and sometimes forget that she wouldn't do this process if she didn't have to.

The only production that threw me for a second was Style, and I feel like I warmed up to it very quickly; it was just an adjustment. I felt that the production on most of the 1989TV tracks was elevated. (I cannot stop listening to OOTW and I Know Places; I also fathomed AYHTDWS for the first time, which I thought Emily would be proud of.) I think Christopher Rowe has done an INCREDIBLE job; like I actually don't know how it's possible that he's doing what he's doing to recreate and elevate these tracks. I'm not super vocal on social media, but, knowing what some of these conversations are looking like online, I wish there was a way to communicate to Taylor and the team that there are so many of us out here just quietly listening to and LOVING the re-record.

I don’t know if you ladies have ever listened to the podcast “Every Single Album” on Spotify but they breakdown/react to all of Taylor’s albums and they mentioned something during their 1989 TV reaction and I was reminded of it when you mentioned the re-recording order — she dropped 1989 TV clues and then out of nowhere dropped midnights, they fathomed that maybe she was so inspired by the vault tracks she was creating with Jack for 1989 that it led to midnights and she had to pivot bc she was just too excited about the new tracks so maybe that’s why we ended up needing to wait for 1989. It feels like it makes sense simply bc why did she sprinkle in this love and wildest dreams 2 years before the actual release? Definitely food for thought!!

V Babida

I was definitely expecting her to go WILD for 1989 TV release, but having her be more silent and laid back makes a lot of sense - OG 1989 was MASSIVE and she promoted the hell out of that album and put out so many singles and videos so it makes sense for her to be more chill for the re-record. So far it seems like she’s going more ALL OUT for the albums that she feels didn’t get the full love & appreciation (*ahem* RED TV) they deserved which is why I feel REP TV is gonna be HUGE and we’re not even remotely ready for what she has in store for us - I really feel like this weekend of tour shows is gonna be absolutely unhinged - something big is coming.

Laura (in my eras era) 🫶

Bonny I actually gasped when you said AYHTDWS could be swapped out omg 😱🤣 NEVER!!! Emily I stan with you 🫶

I can't wait for the vault breakdowns but the thing I'm most curious about is are we watching the 1989 World tour?

i feel like the question from the song question is “is it over now” and i love how the song question samples out of the woods and how the bridge of is it over now references the out of the woods bridge

We love your rants lol, thank YOU for ranting babes

Love all of your comments ❤️ keep up the great work/videos... I love all of the content that we are receiving from our Queen Taylor Swift 💕

Yes! I get so annoyed when people complain about re-records because the originals still exist. Every time a TV releases, I make a new playlist synthesizing the best of both records and just listen to that. Nobody, least of a;l Taylor, is saying pretend the originals don’t exist. This project is about devaluing the stolen versions, reclaiming ownership of her work, and perhaps most important logistically, owning Scooter free versions of her songs for the purpose of licensing for film & TV. Nobody is forcing you to listen to a version of a song you love that sounded different.

Sarah Silvester

i don’t know if anyone has fathomed, but i realized a couple years back that the instrumentation/production of the bad blood remix is the instrumentation that taylor uses on the rep tour and eras tour when singing bad blood. you can hear it that big bass drop and the added electric guitar part!

to me, the flashing lights in the IION bridge are referring to paparazzi shots of him with his new conquests, maybe a nod to i know places “lights flash”, “out here in plain sight” but with a new girl. he’s out there so obviously rubbing her nose in it but she had the decency to go about her rebounds discreetly.
