DayZ Critique - Combining parts 1-9 into a whole (Patreon)
Content
Hope you're all had a good one. It was quite cosy over here. I spent it in a warm flat with a cold beer, with Lulu on my lap and with the ZF guys in teamspeak. Where we faffed around in Rocket League, Jedi Academy, Left4Dead, Deceit, etc. A good laugh.
Since Christmas day I've been taking things a bit lightly in an effort to recharge the batteries. But it's time to get back on the editing horse. Therefore I was hoping to continue making a good stab towards getting this DayZ analysis video finished.
This last week I've not been totally idle however. I was able to re-script and re-voice part 5/10 which talked about the inclusion of farming in DayZ. As I felt was a little weak and ranty due to my previous inexperience with this format.
So...the only remaining big segment left to do is part 10/10 - Development, in which I want to have an analysis of the development as it unfolded and provide some discussion points through the lense of my own experience as a Senior QA analyst.
But...this chapter is by far the hardest. So I've intentionally left it till last. What I'd like to do in the mean-time though, is go through the previous chapters 1-9 and tighten them. Re-balancing audio to be consistent. And making corrections/improvements based on your previous feedback. That way I'm hoping to be able to apply my full attention to the final chapter (alongside an epilogue or something), which can just slot in on the end of the video and...hey presto, it'll be done.
For those curious on the total structure and an overview of what needs to be done I've made an index .png card here. Each of these chapters should steadily turn blue as final renders become available and I'll start to piece them together.
I'm afraid most of the video chapters are offline right now due to the various corrections being made. But the two finished ones are available below for those interested:
- 5/10 - The farming problem
- 9/10 - Vehicles in DayZ
