Oh my god.... You are watching the movie I recommended on Twitter ;-; THANK YOU!!

Crusher 8TX

Luke please remove the phone verification in twitch. I am from Bulgaria and it doesn't accept my number as a real one so I can't use the chat during your streams

WonderWeedMan

love that you watched this masterpiece, but sad that you watched it on Twitch, its one of those movies/series you should watch without any interruption.

ShadowNeo

Sorry for off-topic but I am sad that "Wolf Children" movie was avoided in the voting because of a baby breastfeeding scene. I hope you'll consider it for a Patreon reaction in the future.

Rei

alright lads, we need to get him to watch Anohana

Plou plus

I mean the "if I become immortal" argument isn't applicable here. Because you already have a relationship with your children, while Leilia here wants to leave before forming that bond, preserving both her and her child from all the pain caused by their different longetivity. As for Maquia, she love her child, but also understands during the movie, the weight she represents for him. She leaves because he now has his own family to care about, wants to give him the opportunity to be independant, without being a weight that will cloud his mind.

I find it hard to believe that I was the “only” parent in chat 🤣

To explain the scene you didn't get: 1) When Leilia walked out and met her daughter, she was already planning to commit suicide by jumping off. Krim was dead, the kingdom was in turmoil, & she had given up all hope. When she saw her daughter, she realized she could die with a smile on her face. She had no idea that Maquia was going to be there with the dragon to save her. Of course you wouldn't pick up your child and jump off a building to die together. 2) Maquia left because she saw that Ariel had established a life for himself among the humans. She left to save Leilia & bring her home, as well as giving Ariel independence.

So this girl watched 95% of her race killed, was kidnapped, raped repeatedly until forced to give birth, kept in a locked room for 15 years, got PTSD and you think she would want stay? Really?!

Juho Kaartoaho

Please react to Metallic Rouge OP.

NitexKnight

I hope he gets to it as well. Wolf Children is such a classic movie. I'd recommend it along with the Ghibli films and I bet Luke would connect with it really well on the level of a parent.

Never saw this one! Excited to watch along. Got my chips and salsa ready :D

2024-02-19 07:14:46 Luke, it should be completely understandable why Lelia choose to leave her daughter and everything else behind. She will never be able to be free with her, and freedom is all she ever wanted for past 20 years. She can’t be with her and be happy, even if she loves her, she is still a stain on her Hibiol, the actual reason why everything was taken from her. She won’t be a good mother and she knows it. “There is nothing in this world that’s going to make me leave my son”, well Luke, let’s talk about it when your entire family is murdered and you’re captured to be constantly raped and to bare a child you don’t even want, after what you’d have to live for another 15 years in captivity and alienation without permission to even just leave your room 🗿As for Maquia, her son is already old enough and has his own family. It was time for them to part ways not to hurt each other. It’s like you forgot how different their life expanses are. It would hurt her even more seeing him getting older and older while she remains the same

It’s not like she wanted to live, but she had to. It’s not like you can really understand their way of thinking unless you’re a creature that can live for thousands of years. And not gonna lie it’s kinda annoying me Luke doesn’t understand such obvious things, though I still love his reactions
