The Fate I started with after watching Project Rising Magical Girls, Let's GOOOOOOOOO I really started my Fate journey with this, still have to finish playing the last games. I enjoy the peak comedy this show has, very comparable with To Love Ru's (before Darkness) and Heaven's Lost Property. The show is a total spin-off series using the already known characters from the original Fate. So no need for prior knowledge other than the base of Fate. (Even if it works as a standalone show just like I said, I started with this and had no problem at all) Btw, the 2 season has like 2 parts (2wei and 2heiz which the last opening you watched should be third to watch in order). The blonde gal in blue is the girl who you met in the last episode of Unlimited Blade Works route (the one who fights with Rin in the school)

As a magical girl fan, I recommend watching a classic like Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura. Or, if you want something more recent, I’d go with a season of Precure. Day 7 of recommending that we watch Ascendance of a Bookworm after Vinland Saga.

Prism Illya is a great Anime, but it is very long and you need a lot of trust in the writers (which does very much pay off once things get rolling) However you shouldn't go into it as your first 'proper' magocal girl anime since it makes a lot of jokes about common tropes in those shows which can seem weird without that context If you decide to watch it I would recommend watching El Melloi II first since it gives needed context, especially on the blonde drill hair girl (Who appeared once in the UBW epilogue iirc)

I have only seen the first episode, but my theory for these archer, saber, etc. looks for characters, comes to class card system. Cards are heavily prominent in the intros, so I would presume that they are almost like "equips" which give you the power of that card. As an example, I think some Final Fantasy games have similar system

right as fan of magical girl i shall set you right. madoka magica is a deconstruction of the magical girl shoujo sub genre. the first one you should have watched is either card capter sakura, sailor moon or mahou shoujo lyrical nanoha, tokyo mew mew or penguin musume. shoujo focuses heavily on young cute girls and tends to be slice of life romance and romantic comedy. a funny part of magical girl(young girls granted magic powers to fight evil and stand for justice) anime is that they tend to be shoujo ai (girls love(lesbian wholesome love) to out right yuri( sexual lesbian relations). ok 2 things. 1 you have joined the cult of streamer vision cause you cannot see or recognize things you have seen 5secs ago lol. 2. this is a completely different world/timeline where illya her parents, shiro, and servants all live together as family and grew as as regular people no holy grail war split them up/ killed them. Warning this series has some very cheeky scenes so might be patron exclusive. in a nut shall magical girl meet holy grail war in a nut shell. Also i would highly recommend Fate/Apocrypha as the next one to watch it is my favorite in the fate series and you get to meet so many more servants.

I've waited so long for this reaction! This is one of my favorite Fate series after UBW. I hope you eventually watch it. Since you've seen Heaven's Feel, you'll get to experience it without the fear of spoilers. Fate Illya was my first Fate show and when a certain scene happened in UBW I was extremely unprepared. This series gives Illya her perfect world and happy ending that UBW denied her 🙏

here is the plot there are servant cards that the magical girls must collect then if needed they can transform the wand into the servant weapon or apply the card directly on themselves to gain the powers of the servant( that's why there is a female archer), the woman that stays with rin you meet her in the clock tower after UBW ends when rin and shirou are living together in london

My first Magical Girl Anime was the original Sailor Moon and it's quite a good start to the genre from my point of view. I'm not sure how well it would keep up watching it today because of his age and I didn't watch Sailor Moon Crystal so far. Carcaptor Sakura would also be a good magical girls anime to start. Pretty Cure would be on my 3. place for a magical girl beginner anime and Cutie Honey on 4. place.

Also, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura are all decent places to start for Magical Girl anime, but I don't know much much you'll enjoy those. They don't seem like your cup of tea.

Prisma Illya at its core is more of a traditional magical girl series then Madoka Magica, but if you were interested in a straight up magical girl show you are better off sticking with Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura. When shows like Madoka and Prisma Illya parody the magical girl genre, they are usually pulling from one of those two. As many others have already said, if you are curious as to how many fate different fate series there are, you should just watch the Gigguk video "Badly Explaining the Entire Fate Series in 30 Minutes".

Fate is like a Multiverse kinda like Marvel in a way if you want an example, different realities with the same / similar characters where different events happen. The Stay Night universe (The ones that you've watched: Zero - Heaven's Feel) is the timeline with the biggest connections. Everything else exists in its own different universes for the most part.

Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is a Fate Spinoff series showcasing Illya as the main character, which for plot reasons can turn into a magical girl Is this connected to the main series? No it is not, all fate series have some elements in common like the magic/power system and concepts but it is in fact an alternative universe Why do they look so much different? aside from the fact that it's a different animation studio than UBW in this universe the characters are younger, Illya being 10 years old instead of 18 What's with the new characters? So a lot of these characters are original from this anime and a lot other came from Fate/Hollow ataraxia, the secuel to Fate/Stay Night, at the time of making this comment Hollow Ataraxia has not been adapted to anime yet Are they servants? They are not but a big part of the plot if that they can use servant powers through the use of Class cards, something unique to this series I hope this solves your questions, I'm making this comment in patreon and copy pasting it in youtube just so everyone can read it

The Legend of Zelda basically stems from "How do we get boys to play this game?" There are 3 primary icons in the Zelda games- magical Princess, stalwart Orphans Hero, Fascist violent Enemy. Between the balance between the power bestowed on those 3 people, the Triforce(the physical manifestation of the Three Goddess's power in Hyrule), and the stereotypical demihuman allies, the creators of the game figure naming it after the waifu of the series made the most sense.

As of 12:00 I, too, am screaming for you to watch Gigguk's Explaining Fate(Don't Worry About It) videos. It would ABSOLUTELY be an incredible reaction, and you would have like 30-60% more context as to how tf the Fate Universe works. Honestly, anime reaction channels that react to Gigguk content are fucking awesome.

For future reference, when an anime is named after a particular character, go ahead and assume that the character in question is who shows in the OPs most often. I feel like that is a pretty safe bet, to have the bare minimum context of a show.

This is a comment I left on the last Fate/Zero livestream. I'm reposting it in case Luke or someone else in the comments has doubts about Fate. 1.- Let's start by explaining what FATE is. FATE is a game (a visual novel) in which the story changes depending on your choices. 2.- What is the FATE universe? It's a timeline that branches off into different parts of history. This happens due to different events or different choices made by some individuals. If you've watched Steins;Gate, this will be easier for you to understand. *I'll leave an image with some of the branches (The image is edited to simplify the explanation and not confuse too much). 3.- What are the FATE series? The FATE series are simply adaptations of these games and their different branches. 4.- In FATE, there are many things that are not explained, and the little that is explained is scattered across all the series. So, you have to watch all the series at least 2 times, ask someone to explain it to you, or go to the Wiki. 5.- What is the Root (Akasha)? It is the root of everything, where all the information is stored, the force, where all the souls go, etc. Think of it as the white place with the door and The Truth in FMA. It's what every mage wants to reach. 6.- What are the Servants? To explain it simply, it's a copy of the information (The soul) of the Heroes in the Pantheon, summoned by the Grail. When the body dies, the information returns to the hero, and they gain that knowledge. 7.- What is the Grail? This is divided into two, the Holy Grail (or Lesser Grail) and the Great Grail. - The Great Grail is the gateway to the Root. - The Lesser Grail (the one seen in the series) is a wish-granting machine, a bridge to the Great Grail, and it stores the souls of fallen heroes so that their energy can be used by it. It's not as omnipotent as people believe, wishing for something like "Save the world" without specifying the desired method is not enough and can work like a monkey's paw. 8.- What is the Grail's vessel? Until the Third Holy Grail War, it was a cup, but in the Fourth War, the Einzbern family decided to create a homunculus with its own will so that it could defend itself. This homunculus is Irisviel von Einzbern. 9.- What happened in the Third Holy Grail War? The Einzberns decided to summon an extra class of servant, an Avenger, which was replacing Berserker. But it was very weak without any abilities. When he was killed and his soul returned to the Grail, it corrupted it, allowing "evil" heroic spirits to be summoned. So prisma illya has alot of good things to say about it the action is on point and the comedy is great however there's the small little hiccup of the oversexualization of 12 yr Olds which hey if u skip those I'd say watch it cause the story is actually compelling espeshally the more recent seasons

Every single story set in the Nasuverse (fate + tsukihime is the grand bulk of this setting) is canon. Even the joke stuff. It's a unique "multiverse" that isn't a multiverse at all since everything that happens occurs in a single planet with many worlds and different time lines. It is not as complicated as people make it out to be, but the information that makes it clear is spread over a lot of different media and adaptations. There's also a lot of important concepts which are only marginally touched in the different fate series and found in other works. Which contributes to the confusion.
