WHO SHOULD BE THE MAIN WIFE??? VAMPIRE OF DEMON???

Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to OVERLORD Episode 2!

Enjoy!!

Comments

ArtKi

00:55 "Didn't we already see this?" Get Used To It - One Piece 6:40 "Are we ever going to get any answers?" the only important answers I've see are spoiler comments from other reaction videos. So far as answering questions, this series is the opposite of Attack on Titan. 11:34 I love it when Wilhelm and Sebas hang out in "Isekai Quartet" 13:00 "It's so funny!" Oh yeah, I forgot the early episodes have a lot of "happy fluffy bunny time".

Jordan

That might be the fastest any reactor has realised Aura and Mare are sister and brother

S0ulSp4de

usable..... not unstable. Different words with different meanings. :)

Jason Tam

"are they related" the creators are siblings in "real life".

Mariokempes

Day #20 of asking Luke to watch Kamikatsu

Sai

Shalltear best girl

Orieng

Omg its been a long time since i laughted so much xD haha

Gabriel

I can't wait for the next episodes!

BRUNO Marques

You get most of the answers you are asking eventually. Overlord is all about exploring the world, the guardians get fleshed out a lot. Don't do one piece, wait for the remake.

seansky

Ig from ignore, dra from dragoon, sil from silly….. He said useable not unstable. The supreme being and creator in the NPC eyes are the original guild members. They kept referring to Momonga as the last one who left behind coz he literally did that as shown in first ep, saying good bye to herohero and sitting alone in the throne room counting down alone for the end of the server.

FlokiTheMad

Now the actual story can begin. The first 2 episodes are just an introduction to the characters.

Some0neElse

next episode is gonna be wild. Cant wait for it! Also you misread it at 18:22 Momonga said items created by magic are usable. So if he is to pick a crafted sword - he cant use it as a mage class. But because he created the armor and the sword with magic - its fine.

Tom.W

Hate to break it to you Luke but you will never be able to finish One Piece. Has almost 1100 episodes to date, if you are taking it up that is going to end up becoming a commitment. :D

Regill Derenge

more more more mooooore :DD

BynFlew

Yeah the creator of Shalltear was a huge pervert and basically just filled her personality with just kinks and her being undead herself he made her a necrophiliac aswell and well... Momonga is an undead and her master so it's inevitable she would go crazy for him 💀

Pilot_CT12

The twin elves' creator and shalltear's creator are siblings. Their NPCs are a reflection of their kinks. Make of that what you will lol

noah van den berg

18:22. He said items created by magic are USABLE, not unstable

Arcade'owy Łowca

As wise man once said "don't stick in crazy? Nah man. The grip she lost on mental health? It goes straight to her hooha 🤗" xD

James H. Hobbs

It's not stated in the anime, but most likely the reason that Shalltear is obssessed over him has to do with one of the fetishes she was given.

Custodio

Shalltear is not "just" a vampire. She is a "true" vampire (something that in other shows would be called a "pure blooded" vampire), which are a LOT LOT stronger. Technically, only Aura and Mare are related, but their CREATORS (Bukubukuchagama for Aura and Mare, and Peroronchino for Shalltear) are siblings. Yggdrasil is pronounced "iggdrasyl" (or in english phonetics: ig-druh-sil). It´s also known as "the world tree" from norse mythology. In and around it exist all 9 worlds (Asgard, Alfheim, Jotunheim, Midgard, Muspelheim/Muspell, Nidavellir, Niflheim, Svartalfheim and Vanaheim). In the DMMORPG of "Yggdrasil", the lore around the world tree is, that each of these worlds are leaves of Yggdrasil, while the other leaves have either been eaten, shed, or transformed into "world items" (hence their name, an item that came into existence from the material of worlds itself), which were the most powerful items in the game. Not ALL of the 41 members from Ainz Ooal Gown created their own NPC(s), but the NPC's view the players as "supreme beings", since not only were all of the players stronger than the NPCs they created, but just from the fact alone that the players created them basically makes the NPC's view them as "gods". About "what are the rules?": yeah, that´s the thing. We don´t know. Just as Momonga doesn´t know if everything is the same as in the game, or if something changed, we also do not know. Momonga is basically stuck in a completely unknown world, has no idea how strong he is relative to the native population or anything that may exist in the world. Also, about the part of "is this a game or not": this has neither been confirmed nor denied at all, and i highly doubt that it will ever be 100% clarified until the story is complete. So for now, considering the drastic changes, we will have to accept this world as a reality, another world or similar. Unless there is more information in Volume 15 or 16 of the Light Novel, which i have not completely read yet... Not only are you forgetting that Aura and Mare are siblings, but they were created as brother and sister. Yes, there is 41 "supreme beings", or in other words: the guild "Ainz Ooal Gown" had 41 members back in the game. But only Momonga stayed behind, that´s why they call him "the last of the supreme beings", as well as the "leader of the supreme beings" since Momonga was the guild leader. They keep saying it, because slowly but steadily, the other guild members quit the game. Only Momonga continued to play Yggdrasil and maintained the guild and the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and was the only one to stay logged in when the servers shut down (aka, until the moment Nazarick got transported to the "new world" where the NPC's came to life) "otoko no ko" is a japanese term for men who have a culturally feminine gender expression. This includes cross-dressing, which is exactly what Bukubukuchagama did with Aura and Mare. You also misread the subtitles when he talked about items created by magic. He said "any item created by magic is USEable", since class-restrictions don´t apply for items he himself creates with his own class-skills. I mean, it would be weird for a mage that can summon a weapon to not even being able to use said weapon. That´s why he can actually equip the full plate armor, despite being a mage. The armor, as well as the second sword, were created by the magic "create greater item", which is within his class-restrictions. No, he doesn´t want to bring the other members of his guild into this world. At least, he doesn´t seem to have those plans. But in his eyes, the NPC's of Nazarick are the "children" of the guild-members, and since they also seem to share similarities to the personality of their creators (shown by the scene between Aura and Shalltear), the NPC's basically represent the other guild members in some way.

sauce

I love this show

WhateverItBe

He grab her boob to test if he is still in the game or not. Because the game didn't allow adult content, player was not allow to perform such a R18 action. The fact that he can touch her boob proofed that it is not the game world anymore.

Rushin Roulette

Pronouncing it is not too difficult once you know which letters you can ignore. Its basically just igdrasil spoken

Zigawits

As some others have said, you misread the subtitles when he created the armor. He said "any items made by magic are USEABLE", not unstable like you had thought. He cast the spell Create Greater Item which made the armor that normally a mage class could never be able to wear. Unfortunately from what I remember the anime does not go into much detail about the spells and abilities people use so it easy to get confused about those things. I have had to look up several of them to understand how they worked even while reading the light novel. The good thing is that the author borrowed heavily from Dungeons and Dragons so a lot of things work the same as DnD

Knightmare

Yggdrasil is the tree from Norse mythology and is pronounced igg-drah-sill

Hhound42

3:00 Technically they are cousins since their creators are brother and sister. 11:00 There were 41 members of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown and they created all the NPCs according to their individual preferences. The NPCs were aware that it was coming to an end (the server shutdown) and that Momonga "chose" to stay with them at the end. To them it wasn't a game, it was their world but it was ending, now they all have been transported to another world, and Momonga has been isekaied with them. 22:40 Momonga will learn that casual conversations with Demiurge can have unforseen consequences (as seen in the after credit scene in episode 4 don't miss it). 26:00 Albedo reacts to seeing Mare wearing the guild ring, then Momonga goes and does a dumb thing. He doesn't think it through as to how she will react when he gives her a RING! Luke can see as he says "Don't put a ring on crazy" future antics will confirm that warning.

Rushin Roulette

Poor Momonga. Its ironic the way this char is made to be... made up of only bones but cant get one.

Wolfe980

"stayed behind till the end why do they keep saying that" sometimes luke astounds me by not understanding the most obvious things

Argy

thanks for your reaction! if i remember correctly this episode had a post ending scene, which may happen in future episodes as well. please pay attention to that :)

Luffyxsniper

Just in case you say that there 3 seasons but there is 4 season for overlord :)

Felipe

You are not supposed to know these things my man, this is episode 2. It's like asking what these titans are and where they come from at the beginning of attack on titan. Just make your predictions using the clues that are given by the skeleton man. He is also trying to figure out what is happening.

Lu C

So point of the story is if you are playing a game, have an avatar that is a real living being? Cos' you never know... 😁 Btw the Zekes' VA Takehito Koyasu has a very loooong carrier, 35+ years 😁

Anacik Gabriel

How can you be a fan of vikings and never heard about yggdrasil before :0

Dennis Broer

yggdrasil the world tree (norse mythology)

Connor Hennessy

I will request all Pokemon OPs (Japanese) and all Digimon OPs (Japanese) videos until the day I die

I think it's very interesting how Luke manages to give a similar feeling as watching a show for the first time, when he does his reactions. While he might have some moments where he completely misunderstands what a show is trying to express (which the comments usually correct), he also manages to make some insane predictions (e.g. the prediction of the last scene of Re:Zero S01) that basically no first time viewer would've been able to pick up on. His theories are also often quite interesting regardless of how reasonable they are. Furthermore he is just so damn expressive which further amplifies the epicness/sadness of certain scenes, especially when he gets absolutely hyped or gets tears in his eyes. And all of this is coming from someone who generally, with very few exceptions, has not been able to enjoy other reaction content, since it usually is just people watching stuff without adding any value. Luke, even if it might sound weird, is just great at reacting, if it makes any sense. This is also one of the reasons why I'm hoping he'll react to stuff like MILGRAM some time in the future (which doesn't seem too unreasonable considering the Hololive reactions), since he'd be able to add so much value to it in my opinion, which is why I've been mentioning it quite a bit recently. Anyways I just wanted to show some appreciation, since I've really been looking forward to his reactions ever since I first found his channel with the Oshi no Ko reactions.

Frentzy

Supreme being = guild leader 41 beings = 41 guild members Guild members built their own npc, all npc obey guild leader but not all obey each guild member.

LordDanzo

It's so funny how he tried to say the Japanese pronunciation of Yggdrasil instead of the English one. Usually people do it the other way around. They hear the Japanese pronunciation, ignore it, and just read it in English.

Juho Kaartoaho

I really hope that there would be a new pole after Hunter X Hunter is done since there is no clear order of which one would have come in second place since the shows were initially in 2 separate blocks. I would personally for example put Bleach and JoJo still over One Piece or Naruto, but that's just my opinion.

SonSpike

Yes, this. To pronounce it, just think of the 'y' and an 'i' and it should be much easier for you to say, Luke.

Karen Porter

I'm pretty sure "Yggdrasil" is the Norse "World Tree" and I've always heared it pronounced "EEg-Draw-Sill". I could be wrong though.

Dethrox

Shalltear is ''True'' vampire dont forget that :D

Alexandre NFF

Even Luke is starting to fall for "Bone Daddy"

Dethrox

not only that.. but yggdrasil is pretty much in all fantasy anime/games :DD including world of warcraft lol

Rocco Laudadio

IN the name of that game, ygg is pronounced "ig".

Yevaud06

FYI: He squeezed Albedo because he was testing if the game would halt him from doing so, because it doesn't allow +18 actions. Since he can, must not be in the game anymore, or at least the limitations of things have changed. Shalltear might just like him because undead would find other undead attractive, especially due to how powerful he is. It's a more natural connection that Albedo, that's for sure (that's not a ship, Just pointing something out).

brad marsh

Luke i got one issue with you I have to bring up, let me paint you a picture. You're on abandoned island, stranded, no entertainment, then suddenly a book washes upon shore in a water seal container, eureka! You now have a form of entertainment. So you now start reading the book, but you read 4 pages, you then stop, you put the book down and you have an internal monologue with yourself about what you just read. You ask, who is that guy, where did that guy come from, where are these characters going to end up? You pause, you stop thinking, you then swim out into the ocean in search of someone who can answer your questions, but here is the thing... All you have to do is just keep READING THE DAMN BOOK to get your answers! And that is how I feel sometimes with your reactions. But I still love you! Just had to get that off my chest lol

Paul

He said items created by magic are “usable” not unstable. Basically if he makes the warrior armor with magic he can utilize swords which he can’t use normally as a mage class. Also Yggdrasil is from Norse mythology, the tree of life or world tree. Also when they talked about adorning Nazarik with this world they had just mention how the night sky looked like jewels or treasure and demiurge said the worlds treasures could be his and that led to the “maybe we should conquer the world” thing. Momonga said it as a joke, but Demiurge treated it as a “so he has declared” sort of statement.

wildhunt1973

I agree. I've seen a lot of reactors that I liked, but for some reason, after awhile, they lose what made them special, so I stopped watching them. So far, Luke is the only reactor I've been with for this length of time, and I just like watching him. It also really helps that he has his Patreon so cheap, so I can watch unedited stuff here.

Julien Fabrice

His class is Summoner and he summons undead(and his armor is also summoned/created via magic), so he has a skill what makes undead like him more so they don't attack him. (It will be shown in a later episode in season 1) Shalltear is undead so it affects her.

Julien Fabrice

Just to clarify he has emotions, but if he is controlled by his emotions, freaks out or something like this, he gets like a downgrade of his emotions(as if he pushes it down or controls them) so he can be calm and in control again.

JammySplosha

yggdrasil is pronounced "ij-ra-zil"

axilir21

Momonga is one of the 41 membres of the guild, all of them stopped playing. The NPCs refer to the guild members as "supreme beings". It is the world of a game, but it became a real world, the NPCs became normal people. He can get in the mood ... only his emotions like fear, anger or stress are forcefully calmed down. He said that every items created by magic become USABLE. He is a skeleton, he can't change that.

Zer0

The "rules" would be spoilers, not every isekai starts with Truck-kun. You will learn what is going on with Momonga.

Morbius Au

Yggdrasil is the tree of life from norse mythology, the pronunciation 'igg-dra-sil' is correct. The 'y' is an 'i' sound.

Slipped Halo

Some terms for reference: Yggdrasyl - (pronounced Igg-dra-sil) - The name of the game he was in, and the defacto name of the world he is in currently Ainz Ooal Gown - The name of the guild he was in Nazarick - aka The Tomb of Nazarick - The "guild building" of Ainz Ooal Gown Supreme Beings - Specifically the 41 members of Ainz Ooal Gown, not just any people the NPCs have knowledge of or remember

Leander Joseph

If you have the time check out the skipped content for the Overlord episodes by AniNews. He covers everything really well.

Thamor

It's funny how Luke is so confused. That one VA is in everything, because he IS DIO "ZA WARUDO"!

Steven Hardy

In the LN it's revealed in this scene that Shalltear is a necrophiliac. This is also referenced by a comment she makes later in the anime that she's only had "experience" with women because her preferred type of man would be dead and incapable of "performing".

Steven Hardy

"Supreme beings" refers to all of the members (players) of Ains Ool Gown. They refer to Momonga as the leader of the Supreme beings.

Valrenas

The way I personally understand to pronounce Yggdrasil is IGG as in Iggy Pop, DRA as if you're saying drawer and SIL, like window sill or silt

Elajha González

All answers are spoiler but don't worry they answer later slowly because is a lot of things behind this situation and I think you love the trip of momonga

2024-02-09 04:07:25 I like that you gave yourself a chance to listen to more of the opening/ending. The music in overlord might be the single best trait of the entire show. Skipping opening and endings is fine, but listening to the good ones regularly as you watch shows has always been a core piece of the experience so for a good soundtrack/opening you should absolutely be free to watch it in context

Yggdrasil- from the Norse mythology of the World Tree (See, God of War PS4 and God of War Ragnarok). Pronounced "Ygg" (Iggy Pop), "Dra" (Dragon), Sil (Window Sil)

Micchix

Haha yeah I was replying to him when he asked, “just take it as it is” and continue watching to find out more. But love your reactions!!!

Daniel Webb

The show really doesn't make it clearer, but the whole guild base "The great tomb of Nazarick" got sent to another world. The people in the tomb are NPC's that have come to life. The people outside the tomb are people native to the "new world", not the game. Who did it? Unknown. Why? Unknown. Anyone else from the game get transported? Unknown.

itaral

he said that items from magic are usable not unstable and that's why he could swing sword in that armor even though he can't wield swords

Whata Save

sorry but most of people hate shows where u need to watch external things to understand. For me, overlord was a really bad recommendation

BkViper

So a few things, The term "Isekai" translates as "other world" so as long as the MC is in a different world it would qualify as an isekai anime, The NPC do have memories from the game so they are aware that the game was set to end thus the comment of "stuck til the end", all of the NPC were created by different members of the guild, many of which did not put in the same effort into creating the backstories/personalities, so when they came to the new world they inherented traits from the the specific member who created them, as well as relationships between their creators such as Mare often acting like the older sibling to Shalltear since their creators were siblings IRL, when Momonga sees the night sky and mentions he's never seen one he was serious, the anime leaves it out but Momonga's old world was one of dystopia, the pollution is so bad that you can no longer see the sky and life is terrible if you aren't extremely wealthy, so the player Blue Planet recreated the sky on the 6th floor from textbooks and other material without ever seeing the real thing, his emotion suppression only triggers once it gets to a certain level, its never explicitly said if pleasure would be an emotion that gets suppressed but considering even his positive emotions get suppressed id say he probably activate it, talking hypothetically if he had a way to give himself a phallus he could possibly produce an heir but he wouldn't derive any pleasure from the act itself...its a weird rabbit hole we diving into here but he's Bone daddy for a reason

Itto Sanzzo

So... he squeezed her to make sure that +18 actions would be allowed, as in the game it shouldn't be.

Keith Merrington

I remembered 'Yggdrasil' from somewhere - then it came to me. It's mentioned briefly in Dragon Maid as well.

Cerivex

All hail bone daddy. Or daddy bones, that rolls of the tounge a bit better :D imo

Custodio

Yeah, i also watch a few other anime reaction channels, but Luke does add the most value to his reactions, and if it were a "value competition", he would win by a landslide. Like, one channel i watch is literally just 2 dudes that barely don´t do any commentary. It´s okay for shows i´ve already watched and want a slightly different feeling to just rewatching it myself, but it´s not that entertaining for shows i haven't seen. The other channel does basically the same as luke, but those reactions are by far less "impressive" (somewhere inbetween "a dude watching anime for himself" and what Luke does). good enough to watch a new show, but not enough to stand out in some way. Luke on the other hand (as already said), adds massive value to the reaction. And he even catches on some stuff that any other first-time watcher would miss (and sometimes even i did miss after several re-watches still).

Custodio

His class is NOT specifically summoner. While summoner may be one of the minor job-levels (since not every Job- and racial level is known), it is absolutely NOT one of the major ones (5 levels or more, depending on the "Tier"). To be precise: His racial levels are distributed among: Skeleton Mage (15 levels), Elder Lich (10 levels), Overlord (5 levels) and 10 more levels across multiple racials with less than 5 levels each. His Job levels are distributed among: Necromancer (10 levels), Ruler of Death (10 levels) and the rest of his 60 job levels (aka, the remaining 40 levels) are other low-tier jobs with less than 10 levels each. If anything, he is a mage that happens to also have summoning-spells, undead minions in particular. Sure, he has a lot of them, but his build is a Roleplay-build focused around necromancy (which does NOT mean that it is a minion-master build, as necromancy is only a generic term for "a magic caster that uses death-related magic"). It´s not even close to being optimized for combat, and especially not optimized for combat with minions (which a "summoner" would obviously be, as summons/minions would be their main damage source). which is actually the reason why he has the very rare class of "eclipse" which requires such a type of build. Which basically defines him as "an overlord that is truly dedicated to the pursuit of death, which swallows up all life like an eclipse". he also does NOT have a specific skill that affects undead passively to make them ignore him. If anything, it is just basic behaviour of naturally spawned undead to ignore other undead beings. Which is completely unrelated to Momonga's Skills.

Akazura

NO SPOILER it is just explaned in the Light Novel / Manga. So in essence he got Transported to another world in the body of his ingame Avatar. "The Great Tomb of Nazarik" was also transported and the NPC gained a mind of there own with all the settings they got created with. The new world is not a game but all his abillities still work as the did in "Yggdrasil". That also includes Item restrictions, like "A mage can't use a sword" but if he creates the Item himself he can use it, thats why Items created by magis are "usable" not "unstable" you just misread there. Also the "supreme Beings" are all the 41 Guild members, but all exept him quit the game and So they "left them behind" but he stayed.

Hason34

The show would be perfect if there were less fan service tbh

Nicholas Hooker

Its a norse mythological term, so it makes its way into lots of other media. I was shocked luke didn't know it from one thing or another.

Hououin Kyouma

Yggdrasil is the tree of life from Norse Mythology. It's pronounced as Ig-dra-sil in general but due to how Japanese letters always sound with vowels the pronunciation is completely different. Btw keep an eye out for after-credit scenes. I am not exactly sure which ones but some of the episodes have after-credit scenes.

CoreTendency

You might know "Yggdrasil" from Marvel's Loki series or from the latest God of War game. Hououin, here, is right.

TheOnlyChou

Everything that happened in the game is real to the NPCs. The guild members are the "Supreme Beings" since they were the ones that created the NPCs. Momonga was the only member who kept playing the game till the end so to the NPCs, he's the only one that didn't "leave".

Aegean

Yeah so he stayed ingame until the servers shut down, making him traped in his character and bringing life to all NPCs within their guild base. And on top of that they got transported to another world alongside with their guild building ( The great tomb of Nazarick ) Thats the isekai of it since you wondering :D On another note, you misread one thing that you diddnt understand. He said: it seems any items created by magic is USEable! Not UNstable xD just to clear that up, hehe. This is a really good anime, so dark for a isekai. Love it

KyoTsuki

I have watched the show fully without even knowing there are external things and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good thing its not only your vote that matters

Jose Zeledon

yggdrasil is the tree that connect every realm in the nordic mytology, nordic mythology is used a lot in anime and video games cause is cool i guess, thats also where things like the valkyries come form to say something more recognizable as an example

Hawk of Battle

"I don't understand!" Seems to be his catchphrase. Like, I get not having the answers, but that's because we're only 2 episodes in. OF COURSE there are no answers yet.

Hawk of Battle

"They all seem crazy." Well yeah. They were NPC's... made by gamers. Do I need to explain this shit?

Hecate

A youtuber named AniNews does a good job explaining cut contents of this anime.

Overlord_Ashalon

Shalltear was created with ALL of the fetishes, 1 of which is necrophilia, or the sexual attraction to dead corpses.

Stefan

Crazy waifus battle has begun! That ring might bring trouble for Ainz:)

Overlord_Ashalon

There were 41 members of this guild, thus 41 supreme beings

Overlord_Ashalon

The elf twins are a trap and a reverse trap. If you don't know what those are, google at your own risk.

Overlord_Ashalon

Useable, not unstable as in he can use them.

Overlord_Ashalon

The MC is an undead in body, so he needs 0 of the things the living do.

Tekbox

the anime cut out a lot from the novels so I'm guessing that's what they are talking about.

Tekbox

Yggdrasil is the name of the World tree in Norse mythology

Heruwath

"The rules" are still not known, even to light novel readers. There are theories of course, but the real truth has not been revealed yet.
