Yeah these are bad, I think Fate was even worse than HxH with spoilers. I can't imagine how bad One Piece would have been, people forgetting that some stuft gets revealed hundredths episodes later.. As an example I can imagine them saying how strong Shanks is.

I would imagine a lot of people are just watching sometimes Luke videos and don't care about polls or anything like that, so it ends up like that after, when only more dedicated people vote, which is also why Overlord won over Demon Slayer, even though their popularity should not even be comparable.

I would love to see you react to the anime movie Redline (you can see the whole movie in 720p for free on youtube or buy it and watch it in all its insane splendor in 1080p.) This movie is amazing over the top and has some of the best animation ever since it was hand drawn from start to finish! The other one is The Legend of Vox Machina, which is a (currently) 2 season series made via Kickstarter which was made with passion. High fantasy and same style kinda like Invincible, just a little bit less blood and gore... though not much less. This show is special to me since I backed this on kickstarter aswell!

So, having seeing One Piece up to episode 120-something and having seen only 6 episodes of Hunter x Hunter, I can say Hunter x Hunter kicks One Piece's behind as far as storytellling goes. It's quicker, it's faster-paced, and I like Gon so much more than Luffy. This was a great choice to start, and I have a new anime that I am going to like. So, thank you.

So both have the adventure vibes, but they are very different in some ways. OP is meant to be a super long adventure, so of course the pacing is different. Also, you're watching the anime which even OP fans say the pacing is horrendous. The manga is already long, but there are literally instances of Toei not even finishing a CHAPTER in an episode from how they pad it out. HxH is a much more contained story that was never meant to compete as far as length goes. And the pacing reflects that. Togashi also kinda just dives right into things, look at the beginning of YuYu Hakusho for an example of how he waste no time getting stuff rolling. Only problem is Togashi doesn't produce chapters due to his health, not throwing shade btw it is what it is, so his much shorter story might not be done before OP is done. Unless he hands all the illustration and writing work to his wife and staff, it can still be his brain baby just let other people do what his body can't. His wife is the Sailor Moon mangaka fyi, so she is more than qualified.

Oh, also Luffy really grows on you and Luffy also grows. I know you're only 120 eps in and it's kind of a meme to say this but you have barely scratched the surface. OP really does get better as you go, and the further you go the more you see Oda really is a GOAT when it comes to writing. So much stuff is extremely important, even like 400+ eps later. I wasn't a huge Luffy fan at first, but once he buckles down and realizes how much responsibility he carries he becomes a top tier MC.

Spoilers. I said somewhere that I really liked the movie One PIece Red. But that entire arc where they were wandering aimlessly around the West Blue or whatever it was called in that area where they had to go on endless quests for compasses just to get to ONE specific island really annoyed the crap out of me. That's pretty much where I stopped watching because I just saw no end to that gosh-awful plot. I think I stopped when they reached the desert island, which you'll probably tell me is where that compass-storyline ended. LOL.

one of the most solid adaptations thus far in the history of anime. they only changed very small and insignificant things over the tv series, mainly related to one antagonist, but it has no relation to the story presented in this adaptation as that character hasnt been touched upon in the manga either yet. Overall, a solid 10/10 adaptation. A BLAST. just cease any doubt and just ENJOY.

Kaiju are pretty much those giant monsters from Japanese movies. Like Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, Hedorah, M.O.G.U.E.R.A. and even King Kong. Some people also count Jet Jaguar among Kaijus, even though it's more like an anti-kaiju weapon, depending on which Kaiju movie we are talking about.

I assume they mixed the names up. The woman on the right at 35:00 looks like Misa from Deathnote. And some people tend to call her Misa Misa. Which is a similar nicknaming as Lisa Lisa from Jojo's bizarre adventure. So i think they mixed both names but, but were referring to Misa from Deathnote.

There is another anime completely focusing on Gourmet Hunters. It's called Toriko. A pretty fun anime to watch and great fights. Also, Toriko had cross-over episodes with both Dragon Ball and One Piece.
