It is sad that JoJo will not have enough support bc it seems like it would be right up Luke's alley. Buff dudes and OP powers, especially all the bro love later on. However I do like Hunter X Hunter also. I would recommend both. However the edge goes to JoJo for the reaction of Luke for later parts.

I was watching yday stream during bleach and ppl were arguing about the subtitles. I'll give u a tldr: The "dubtitles" get the point across but there is a difference between the subs and that. Personally I feel like a lot of the personality of characters and even the way certain lines hit you are a lot different. I've seen plenty of creators reacting to dubbed/subbed so I've a decent understanding of both. And ofc I'm biased since subs above all because anything dubbed is just terrible to watch for many reasons but that's not important here.

JoJo is the best option here and I believe it’s the anime Luke would enjoy the most but it doesn’t seem to have as much support in the poll as the other options which is unfortunate. The first episode isn’t the strongest but it will definitely sink the hooks in and it only gets better as the series progresses

Nah that first season was so insanely bad that despite hearing from so many friends how good it eventually gets, I couldn't force myself to continue watching past like 6 episodes. So so so bad I don't know what to say. HxH starts strong and only gets better and better and better, keep like One Piece in my opinion.

HxH is a good anime, I think it was the first one my son watched all the way through. It has interesting arcs except I didn't like the tournament arc. However I do say it doesn't have filler so it is also great bc of that. I just edge out JoJo bc also it doesn't have filler but it seems more like a Luke anime. He will watch both eventually anyway.

Yo Luke! Appreciate you watching Bleach. Here are some fun facts about the series: 1. Tite Kubo (the author) designs most, if not all his characters beforehand in his mind and develops the story and its progress around those characters, tying them into the plot as required. He also has an idea of their personalities beforehand. This is unlike most other series like One Piece, where the story up until the end is already envisioned by the author, and development of characters and their designs happen as the story progresses. This could explain why you get immediately hooked with the characters and their personalities. 2. The series (in manga form) for the most part... does not contain much background in buildings and setting, unless they are absolutely required. This is not to say the world building and power scaling isn't great... it's fantastic but the reason this is done in the manga is to ensure the limelight is given to the characters in each panel. If you do eventually pick it up, I WILL BE THERE NO MATTER WHAT TO WATCH IT!

Out of all the options, Bleach is the one with the most hypest moments. Nothing in the other options compares with some of the stuff in Bleach in my opinion (Gon in Chimera Ant arc being the exception). Bankai ftw. As an overall package though, even though I love it, it is lesser of the 3 big ones and definitely loses to HxH. Worst of the lot are Black Clover and My Hero. JoJo is very uneven. Gintama asks too much of the viewer as far as references and jokes. The watch order I'd recommend would be HxH -> Naruto -> Bleach -> One Piece (because it's still going and super long) -> JoJo.

yeh im a stickler for art styles, and Jojo is definitely one the worst end of the spectrum for my taste..... I do have a wide range, but when I do not like one, it really affects my view of it (part of reason why i didnt really click much with Vinland saga and jujutsu kaisen either.... they are good but wouldnt rank top in my books) My vote goes to Bleach for this group.

The problem with the HxH 2011, is that the skip the Gon's backstory. To understand Gon's motivation to become a hunter, you need to watch the original Hunter x Hunter 1999's first episode. It will reveal Gon's backstory, and be important for the story as a whole. If you do end up watching HxH, please watch the first episode of the Hunter x Hunter 1999 version.

Bleach was cancelled. It had trash filler and padded some arcs unnecessarily. It had a horrible fall from grace that eventually killed the manga too. We never got the hell arc for example. That said, early bleach was pretty good.

Yeah Gintama is very hard to watch when you don't understand Japanese pop culture. My hero started out strong, but fizzled over time. Jojo you ether love it, or don't (and so much anime references it). I think hxh and naruto still remain at the top of shonen for how influential they are. Bleach is hype.... but man Deicide arc single handily killed bleach back in the day. It pissed the weekly jump fans with odd character moments and just dragged on for 23 damn weeks. Some chapters can be read in less than 5 secs, almost nothing happens.

That first Jo Jo episode was pretty daft really. Not at all believable. The characters were 2D and the situations ridiculous and utterly predictable. The only thing missing was a twirly moustache on the villain.

Oh, can't wait until you cover MHA. I've seen the first season so often (in 3 languages), and Bakugo is the best (I know it doesn't look like this at the moment, but wait, he gets better.) Izuku is also one of my favorite characters, but not as much as Bakugo, though.

Not a fan of Part 1 but Part 4 and 6 were best, Part 2 and 3 were v good but I think after a certain thing was involved is why I liked the others more. Also any 1st ep where a dog dies is the worst 💔

Damn, those bleach subs, I hated them and their inaccuracy, and it's not the first time it happend on Luke's reactions. That's why I don't use official services, a lot of the time subtitles are just not great.

Dosen't seem like a wide range. I can't quite understand people that will not like anime because of the artstyle, it never happend to me, it can either enchance the experience or I will be just whatever about it. I guess that's just how it is, everyone perceives things differently. For example one of the biggest pluses in anime for me is an unique vibe the series has, like Madoka Magica, Princess Tutu, early Bleach, OddTaxi, Boogiepop Phantom, Girls Last Tour, Land of The Lustrous or many many more.

IMO, Bleach looks to be the most interesting among these. I wasn't terribly impressed by Jo Jo or HxH. MHA is ok (and I've seen it before) but Bleach piqued my interest the most.

I honestly think Bleach is the best one to watch but I'm also bias because it's my favorite out of all of these haha. I had the hardest time getting into anime back in the day until I saw Bleach honestly. All the other old shows seemed decent but nothing ever grabbed me. Bleach is literally the reason I became an anime fan in the first place. I don't think it will win based on the current poll but I still think its the best choice. MHA is a good anime too but its so new that I think it will end up on the watch list at some point on its own.

Bleach starts strong, but falls off by dragging things out after a few arcs. Especially the fights. HxH starts slightly slow, and gradually ramps up over the course of the series. Jojo is just as insane and bizarre all the way through.

For whenever you start watching Bleach, even though that will probably be quite a while from now, PLEASE don't watch it on Disney. The subs are horrible. While the desync isn't too bad, the fact that they are just taken directly from the English dub really sucks.

I agree. I LOVE Bleach, but the part where they BLATANTALY put in the filler arcs is annoying. At least in Naruto, they kinda weave the filler arcs into the main storyline so it's not as obvious unless you've read the manga. In Bleach, they TELL YOU "This is a filler storyline. Sorry." Though there is that one filler arc that even Tite Kubo loved.

It's not that "bad" when u don't know about it but when u come back to it it's quite hilarious indeed. Dubs just have limitations too since they aren't in control of lip sync and so, so it's honestly impossible to live up to the original dubs.

i think stay away from MHA at least. I know that the other stories actually seem to go somewhere, but MHA has the issue of just not being good after season 2. It kept its core fanbase, but most people moved on

my hero dub is awesome, i think the sub is good too but some of the characters are just so good in the dub, especially all might. sub is always going to win for almost any anime out there just because of the sub hivemind. I prefer sub usually but i think there are cases where the dub is as good or better

Jojo's first part is by far the worst. And it's still good. I think you'll enjoy it when it finally gets a turn to be watched, but it looks like Hunter x Hunter is gonna win. Not a bad thing, it's also a 10/10.

I think, MHA ist 100% the best choice. Contrary to other believes I think that anime just keeps getting better with each new season. Also I am reading the manga, so believe me when I say, that the next season will be spectacular!

Haha I guess wide is relative to each individual. To list some with different styles that I liked…. Seirei no Moribito, GITS, legend of galactic hero DNT, katanamonogatari, March comes in like a lion….. not gonna bother listing ones with more generic art styles. Agree as you say, each person enjoy things differently. For me I watch anime to fulfill sensually, while if I fulfill my need for good story through reading (I read more than I watch anime actually). Anime with a good story is a plus, like how art style is a plus to you. At the end of the day it’s a popularity vote, and we all have 1 vote each haha

This needs to be said. Lukes reaction to all 8 animes was epic! I was so happy he enjoyed the shows i like, and the ones i am not a fan of made me enjoy them. At the beginning of the tournament i got a little scared, since it will take him over 13years to watch them all if he only watch 5 episodes a week, and it could be years before he started the anime you wanted. But Luke really made me feel and remember how speciel the all are, and thats what makes this channel speciel!

Pretty reasonable. I personally consume both either because of the enjoyement it can provide, because of the strong values the series has to offer or just simply coz the story is great. In the end artstyle and animation is the thing I least care about, but I have to say, I'm not a fan when artstyle is so chaotic (Tatami Galaxy) or overly detailed (Berserk manga), especially when it comes to manga, when it's hard to tell what's happening.

I personally don't like dubs for a simple reason, almost every VA sounds like he was taken from a youtube parody. While it might work for some anime that are actually a parody and make them funnier, like Kodocha, for the other ones, no so much, I just can't take them seriously. There's also the issue of accents, because of that I need subtitles anyway.

Great reaction and unbiased take, as always. Chat was kinda annoying this time though, unlike the last time... Especially that one person who spammed "VOTE FOR JOJO" all the time. And those few people who deliberately tried to p*ss off the Bleach fans the whole time. And yeah, people who insisted on Luke deciding on a favorite. He already stated multiple times he will not do it. I feel like the mods were working behind the scene though, 'cause chat got much more tame towards the end. Seriously, i like all of these. And i can't comprehend why people would deliberately hate on others for liking or voting for something else. Especially when we will watch all of them anyways. EDIT: Also. completely disagree. The show may have pacing issues regarding later seasons, but it's for me and i know a lot of people a very enjoyable show. The hero/celebrity society aspect is what make it worth the watch imo.

Season 3 is pretty fantastic honestly. From the later part of Season 4 until almost the last episode of Season 5 it really went nowhere. But season 6 is as good as the first three, for me it was worth watching until here

After seeing the dubsubs or whatever it's called this episode of Bleach had, no wonder, I haven't seen such a bad translation in a long time, it was contradicting what was said in the Japanese sometimes. But even then, let's say you don't know the translations are wrong, I myself have just too many other issues with the dubs and it's not even the whole "elitist" mindset, for the most of my life I watched every single movie with a lector and I even still do sometimes. And it's not like Luke never watched any anime in dub, he did FMAB and Cyberpunk in dub, right?

should it be decided to watch HxH I would recomend to watch just the first episode of the old 1999 anime. it shows a bit more backround about the dynamic of Mito and Gon and a bit of story that is important much later in the story. (without that knowlege it can feel a bit "shoved in" and sudden what happens later)

UGH It's so difficult. My choice for next anima is stuck between Naruto, Black Clover(honestly spiritual successor to Naruto), HunterxHunter , and My Hero. All 4 are must watches imo I can see the comparison of Full Metal to Hunter X Hunter. If youre down with dark animes this is one of them too

Man. I don't use Twitch and never found out about the voting till now. I would have voted for MHA. I like all of them, but I really like MHA more. To hear that it was running behind was sad. As for dub vs sub, I also don't care just like you. I like both versions. The dub I like a bit more because I have dyslexia so it's easier to watch fast moving scenes with dub. In the end I don't care if you watch either one, both are good.
