Season 2 is still good, only the sounds mixing and animation is worse. it's still a good show.

A good story is always better than good animation. And the animation in S2 isn't bad either, but the story is levels above S1. So I prefer season 2.

I liked season 2 a lot, people love to follow the hate trend. Season 2 has so much more world building by actually going more in depth on other characters

This is my third comment, but couldn't help myself. Luke please relax on the pausing and rewinding I am about to punch a hole in my monitor lol, it could be helpful to try to remember scenes you want to look back at and just rewatch them after finishing the episodes. Also looking away at chat during epic scenes and having to rewind or pause kinda takes away from the viewing experience for patreon users, in my opinion

imagine disliking something and then telling others not to watch it cause its ''bad'' :DD so dumb.. and imagine not even watching it and just ''following'' the hate trend telling others not to watch it cause its bad lol... im positive there are those aswell which is even freaking dumber.. also kinda sad you havent watched ova first (i know you couldnt find it) but still :D those ova are canon (im pretty sure they are) and they appear between episodes of season 1 but after watching season 2 you completely forget what happened in season 1 :// :D

he shouldnt miss anything during the look away on the chat cause i think he said there is like a screen with the anime aswell so it is in his point of view but he definitely cant read subs while checking the chat.. and honeslty.. i agree.. but i already said it on.. other anime Saga of tanya i think.. and i got pummeled in the comments lol..naah its cool.. he is meant to pause it otherway its not a reaction.. watch out^^

thanks for the heads up haha, i love luke's reactions, just feel like it gets a bit watered down with chat and i am the type to get distracted by the chat scrolling and get tilted when people are too excited and have to type right before a big reveal

I feel like most of people that praise 1st season over 2nd just like this comedy scheme where new enemy is coming he is full od himself and then Saitama beats him. It was like introduction of Saitama and it was often scheme mostly for few episodes still it's like half of season. For me comedy in 2nd season is at least at the same level, fights and animation are top tier just like in season 1. And I really enjoyed this arc in 2nd season . I would say it's just slightly worse because less is going on. Still It's always funny to hear cry of wannabes who say opm2 is bad (mostly cuz change of animation which is like I said still top tier)

I disagree Ben, he shouldn't miss anything, I actually like that he rewinds when he misses something. That being said, I wish he would be less distracted by the chat, I agree with you for that. Personally, I sometimes do 5 sec leaps if he's taking too long with the chat. If it takes too long for you, do the same as me. But it's good that he doesn't compromise his understanding of the scenes.

Nobody would ever tell you the story of season 2 isn't good, it's awesome. The only criticism s2 got is about the animation. Even then, as you noticed it's not that bad. The only problem is that both season 1 and the manga (drawn by Murata) are more impressive visually. Honestly compared with the action scenes from the manga, it's true the action scenes is the anime aren't that great (the s2 at least). But it's not so much that the animation sucks, it's just that the manga is one of best drawn manga ever: detailed and dynamic as fuck, I've rarely seen that, ever.

I'm writing this as a big one punch fan that have read the manga and web comic several times. also gonna keep it spoiler free. season 2 is not bad, as it still outperforms many other anime released that year. but if you are a person more selective of the quality you notice that over half of the impactful scenes happens off screen. like in the episode we watched where a giant bird attacks King, we just hear Saitama deal with it off screen and see a still of it dead on the ground. they also loop as many animations as possible instead of making one longer animation with a lot more personality, in many scenes like the one where Saitama looks at the TV and it pans around, the character look a little off, like they were not sure how to draw him from that angle and didn't get it quite right, or they had some low talent intern do the scene. there are also some timing issues in scenes like the one episode we just watched where the pacing is off after Saitama beats sonic. TLDR: they pulled pretty much every cost saving measure they could. some people don't notice this, while others do. if it does not bother you, all power to you. but I for one cant stop noticing all these things and I really hope the next season is better. but not all is bad. to give the animators some praise, a few scenes here and there is peak. for example genos looked really good in a few scenes fighting sonic here, and he will get a few more later.

I was one of those people who looked down on season 2 when it first came out, this was due to how high expectations season 1 gave, but also because I am primarily a manga reader, and was reading some pretty epic one punch man chapters at the time as well. I definitely didn't like it at the time and never watched it, since I read manga anyway. But surprisingly watching this again now on reaction, I am feeling 0 dislike at all for the show, definitely a fun watch and the issues I felt were so obvious last time dont seem as bad anymore.

You should look less into chat when watching honestly, i don't mind rewind or pause. But please pause if you want to read chat. If you don't, then you going to keep rewinding.

I am not surprised that Luke get's confused by the "S2 is bad" comments. People have a tendency to hate on stuff or nitpick about everything, like with season 2 of One Punch Man, mostly because of social/mass pressure and influencing. Or simply because something is different as they are used too. Even if something is really awesome, you will always have people going in with the opinion of a few Influencers or friends, instead of checking things out with an unbiased mind. Which obviously will ruin their experience. They keep that "idea" they heard in their mind and let it influence their perception. It happened to me myself in the past. So i started to go into anime and games blind, without looking anything up or watching reviews. That changed my experiences drastically. And Luke is pretty much doing the same. Getting into the shows without any prior bias, as it should be, without trying to nitpick on everything. Like most of us did when we were younger. That's why i love his videos.

he is rewinding even when he film SOLO by himself. I watch ALL his anime reactions and he just sometimes has negative focus. He has to pause, and read out loud. His brain REFUSES at times to actually use it's reflexes and read on auto mode. It's not really chat's fault all the time. Other streamers have no issue.

I mean you already know he is bad sometimes with focusing even filming solo. But in this stream , theres multiple times he look at chat and then said "oh wait i need to rewind that" and proceed to be "oh i missed it, idk why my brain can't process it. I need to rewind again". And now it twice because of the chat. For the sussy rewind or he need it because he missed something is fine. The fact he need to rewind because he read chat is poorly bad. You call out on other streamer , but other twitch streamer use emote only and rarely read chat.

I'll be honest, the animations in S2 don't bother me. Sure, they are somewhat short-cutted and a downgrade from S1, but they still work for the story. The music though is... Very oddly placed. It's the same tracks as from S1, but playing at odd moments throwing off the mood of certain scenes.
