Black Clover is not that long, you can watch it if you want easily. I would consider watching Bleach more than Naruto or One Piece. Without fillers its around 200eps long overall and its still going out.

Uhh, like I've said before, Luke, One Piece is way too big to start now, unless you watch 10+ episodes a day, you will catch up in 20xxNever, since it's still ongoing with 1089 episodes atm and Gintama is chock full of references to plenty of other Anime so wouldn't recommend that either until you got a lot more under your belt. Bleach and Hunter x Hunter are way shorter. Haven't watched the video yet, don't have time atm, maybe you further elaborate it in the video in which case I apologize for the rant.

Luke says we are gonna watch them all, but how many episodes is he gonna watch each week? i did a lose calculation and with 5 episodes a week, it will take Luke 13,4 years to watch all 8 animes. This does not include things like Movies, Boruto and still ongoing shows. I Hope Luke has a plan

People saying to do other anime first because it isn't as long as One Piece, but if he wants to watch One Piece eventually wouldn't it make sense to start it first as it's the longest? It doesn't really matter how long it takes him to finish. He just needs an upload rhythm with it and then he can tackle other shows at the same time. I wouldn't even mind if he only watches 5 episodes a week, at least he'd probably be able to experience the biggest anime before it ends lol.

People can hate me as much as they like, I watched 2 out of 4, I will watch One Piece and Gintama with you, I watched naruto and black clover and both were briliant, I watched black clover dub so his voice wasnt this loud, as the first episode, the anime is the same, it keeps building up and the longer the show goes it gets fucking amazing and I love it, Naruto when you remove the filler is literal peak of anime, but for me black clover is also just as good, the ost and the opening are fucking awesome for both.

Like i said under YT community post. One Piece and Gintama should not be on the list at all. For Gintama you need to know more popular shounens or it just doesnt make sense since its a parody of many of them. OP is getting a remake so just wait for that unless you want to watch glorious 0.5 chapter per episode (yes its that bad sometimes). Hopefully HxH wins but I would be happy with Bleach too.

I don't know why people tell to wait for the remake. It will take 28+ years to catch up with the current manga chapter. I don't think that is a reasonable timeframe. Let's see if they even adapt more than the East Blue. I would just watch the original and rewatch with the remake.

I love One Piece. It's my favorite show, but I would like to see a reaction to JoJo's Bizare Adventures more, just because there aren't as many reaction channels that do those. And also JoJo is probably my second favorite if not at the same level as One Piece.

I personally thinks naruto is the best one to go with at least as a first one. Gintama's comedy really swooshes over my head so i dont really resonate much with it lol. Black clover..... mmm not gonna say much. Does he really need to keep yelling? One piece is too long, i gave up ~50 ep after the time jump, was too exhausting so I use spare time to watch a bunch of shorter anime instead. It ended up feeling like a chore for me and the enjoyment was drained..... Famous phrase from other OP fans I know: "ah but it gets better right after this!!!"

We don't know how long that will be nor what the quality will be like. While I have faith that it will be good, there's the chance that it won't have the same charm or impact as the original show. I think now is a great time to start the anime, especially since we have NO clue when the remake will start airing.

Don't worry, if something is a chore for you it's not fun anymore. Also IMHO to watch any longer show in digestible parts/archs is totally OK. Also to switch to other things. I had several times a break from anime generally. Btw Luke > I don't mind if you watch 1st season of any anime and then you take a break from it to watch something else or you drop it totally. Not everything that you start to watch you need to finished as planned.

about the glitch happening with Crunchyroll for the One Piece episode... it might have been a cable or something pressing on the ''10'' key on your keyboard. I know YouTube has that thing where you can skip to a timestamp with the number keys, maybe Crunchyroll has that too? I don't know, thought I might throw that out there :)

Did you watch past initial eps? He tones it down a lot around ep15. Guess VA was new in business so still learning ropes. I noticed it's not the loudness or pitch that's so annoying, it's something to do with how he elongated the sound at end of scream and seems more gutteral.

I always skipped filler. It always took me two weeks (episodes) to realize it was filler 😆 At the end I got tired and jumped to the manga. (I got tired of spoilers not waiting) And I never felt like I needed to watch it.

That's literally what most people do, there are entire guides to watch it simplifed without filler. https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=350747 is a popular one. Same things exist for One Piece and Bleach, cos all 3 are filled with... well... filler.

I dont agree with this list, and i agree that Black Clover is not one of the big animes, but since its newer it is very popular. As much as I want One Piece to win, Naruto is likely to win off the amount of hate One Piece gets. The sad part is that people (validly) criticize OP for things that are more a result of the time period rather than the story itself. Almost all long anime back then had pacing issues and long ass recaps, it was just the norm (i.e. DB, DBZ, Sailor Moon, etc). The 'OP gets good after episode x' meme isn't because that's how long it takes the story to get good, it's how long it takes for the studio to dial back the recaps and pacing issues lol.

I don't reference that garbage website at all. It isn't a good source to use in my opinion. The people behind the website have been known to be scumbags from what I have heard in the past. Yes with the anime popularity these days black clover is big enough. It isn't big in comparison to the others though. This is in no way a comparison of the manga themselves but I do vaguely remember the numbers compared to a series like MHA, which came out around the same time, was not the same at all. Black clover was doing mediocre numbers in comparison to the other heavy hitters in shonen jump. The anime is still big but overall black clover struggled to barely keep up with things on the number scale for manga in shonen jump. I remember it was a thing where for a long period of time black clover fans that were tracking the numbers were constantly afraid of it being axed. Well basically what I am saying is that you cannot put black clover popularity in the same playing field of the others at all. It is a big anime in its own right but it isn't what he said in the post "the biggest animes ever". I think multiple other anime are more popular and deserving of that spot simply based on how popular they are. Of course its just him exaggerating things to make it out to be hype. I know "the biggest animes ever" isn't meant to be taken seriously but its just something I decided to point out.

There are less than 100 filler episodes in One Piece, and nearly 1.1k episodes. Thats less than 10% episodes being filler, and not to mention the upcoming arcs in OP won't be having filler. So no, it isn't filled with filler, and also, some of it is good (example being, G7).

Honestly you should watch Naruto Bleach and Jojo One piece and then watch gintama. Black clover is unfortunately very dissapointing anime. I say this as someone who loved the whole idea of this anime. It unfortunately Has problems like nad animation even in most crucial/important scenes/moments, also comedy repetetive af and annoying at some point, also cliche power of friendship mentioned every 2 episodes. I was hyped for 30 episodes watching Black clover but it's honestly just worse every episode, repetetive, generic and worse and worse animation problem due to deadlines in studio and due to studio airing out Boruto in same time. I watched all 170 episodes of Black Clover but I just can't recommed this to anyone unfortunately

Black Clover is the only one I didn't watch before, and to be honest, I didn't really enjoy this first episode. 1) Everyone is being a jerk towards Asta. And, unlike with Naruto, they have no real reason to be like that. 2) At the same time Asta himself is absolutely obnoxious. He screams all the time and makes a laughing stock out of himself - not to be recognised, but just because he is constantly in denial. 3) The villain just came out of nowhere and was chilling in the middle of an important ceremony as if he was invited. 4) And as a cherry on top, the power awakening and the grimoire seemed like they came out of nowhere at this very convenient moment. No specific trigger, no conditions. It happened just because plot. I heard that Black Clover gets better with later episodes, but the first episode seemed extremely underwhelming to me.

Gintama is a masterpiece, and my favorite with naruto at number 2. But you should watch or at least know the basics of naruto, one piece, bleach, jojo before watching. To get the most fun watching and understanding jokes and parodies. BUT its not a must because I didn't watch all of them and I still loved it.

Gintama is a fairly short anime in comparison to things like One Piece, Naruto & Bleach, It would probably be a good one to do as an alongside others to be fair, it's so different and funny compared to the others. I adore Naruto & Naruto Shippuden, anf Bleach, I dip in and out of one piece, I enjoyed Jojo's too, I've never watched Black Clover, but I kept finding others like Mashle and Moriarty the Patriot and Blue exorcist which captured my attention over Black clover... personal opinion is Bleach and Gintama! Gin is just wonderful comic relief for when everything gets too serious :)

In my opienien there is only 4 i would call "the big animes", Naruto, Bleach, One Piece and Dradonball. Which animes would you call "the big animes"? :)

All that is explained in the show. That said, it is classic Shonen and never really deviates from the formula. It's done well enaugh to be entertaining, but is a step below naruto, bleach, op, etc.. For a til: their society is extremely discriminatory against low mana ppl, people receive their fated book at a certain age regardless of where they are on the continent (doesn't work outside), the villain was looking to steal books already and the ceremony happens every year all around the country, asta's grimoire is a little different (and was sealed/hidden) and it ties into why he has no magic at all.

Yeah, Naruto's got some peaks and valleys, but you're really invested by the time its timeskip comes around Also I'm more of a manga person, so stuff like Naruto or Asta's voices being annoying just isn't an issue (also reading is just so much faster)

Black Clover's biggest strength is the pacing of the manga. Like others have said, Black Clover doesn't do a whole lot of new stuff compared to other shonen, but it's just structured so well & a lot of fun. As a manga reader, the loud shouting isn't a problem, it just adds to the cartoonish charm.

Out of these four I’d vote for Naruto. One Piece is awesome but still going and INCREDIBLY long, Black Clover is really well done but the anime got cancelled, and Gintama is really geared towards more seasoned anime fans. Honestly my actual pick for your first long anime would be Fairy Tail, so I’m disappointed to see it wasn’t included in the poll. Still, really great to revisit the first eps of these all and see what you think!

One Piece is a slow burn anime, and while it technically falls into the category of battle shonen, it's actually more adventure/mystery shonen but it takes a while to build to that. No spoilers but it definitely starts out slow to give you a taste of the main characters and the world, before really delving in. Naruto was one of my favourite anime before I watched OP. XD That said, absolutely start with Naruto if you must, as long as you get to OP eventually. I'll just sit here, supporting but waiting patiently. That said, the spoilers for OP are going to get bigger and louder as we get closer to the end.

Not stating either is better than the other, people can like what they want. But to compare the votes of only the people in Lukes community for the series' isn't a fair comparison. One Piece wipes the floor with Naruto in anything like sales and the like. One Piece is a natural phenomenon in the world, Naruto isn't even close. Completely disagree. their newer stuff for One Pace is actually pretty good but all the stuff at the beginning of One Pace is really ass (Fishman onwards - they started there then got caught up, then went back to the beginning of the show) They completely cut out all of the tension of scenes and completely ruin moments you should be on edge/care about.

I think you would enjoy Naruto, it is sometimes a bit slow but if you skip fillers and do multiples episodes a week it's going to be great ! It keeps on getting better so give it like 20 episodes and if you like it then... You will love it more and more !

Of course he skips the filler. Every reaction channel does. You can watch without filler. Even the last arc, it isn't that much mixed eposodes. You can easily jump to an time stamp in a mixed episode and watch only canon material. Other reaction channels doing the same.

I think after eposode 60 it gets good and the last episodes are really good. But i agree it doesn't stand a chance against the original big 3. And most of the characters are really annoying most of time

Never said that Oda publicly stated that about Luffy, I said fans theorized that he is Autistic. Which if you watch One Piece Luffy does more often then not display various traits of Autism throughout the series. I am neither glorifying nor vilifying the disorder, just pointing it out. And if Oda says later on that Luffy is autistic, well who cares? That wouldn't make him any less a hero or a figure to inspire and look up to would it? Naruto!!!! Yes you should skip fillers for the reactions for any of theses show anyway.. One piece is great, but the pacing later is fucking horrible. Pretty sure that the couldve ended the story before getting to 1000+ eps if they actually tried and not making ppl looking at each other for 10 sec 4-5 times per episodes

FYI, people who say Black Clover is mid are people who dropped it before getting to the good parts. Until ep 49, it's pretty chill and cozy, nothing major, at ep 49 is where you get a grasp of what's the deal, and after ep 63 sh*t goes down so hard that you watch the next 50 episodes without blinking.

Naruto and Black Clover are both excellent S+ tier anime's. Hard choice, a lot of people consider Black Clover to be new age version of Naruto, a spiritual successor if you will. It's completely subjective because I'm just one person with a small sample size, but most people I know who like Naruto end up watching Black Clover and being fans of it. They share similar fan bases if I were to make such a bold claim

For me it would be One Piece > Gintama > Black Clover > Naruto One Piece is a goofy "feel good" Anime with great character arcs, epic fights and big adventure. Out of the 4, One Piece has the best world building Gintama is just what you said. Hilarious, unpredictable ridiculousness. Black Clover also has really well written characters and a very cool magical world. Naruto is a bit harder to explain. While it has an absolutely great story, it's still not as great as the other 3. It's praised by a lot of people, it is the most overrated anime. Can't tell my critique point cause it's a spoiler. It's still good though

With a cliff hanger like that, you know you want to keep watching Black Clover. I've been hooked on this anime ever since the line "and within the fifth leaf, resides a demon". Some people say it picks up around ep30 or 40, which it does, but I think it's been great ever since episode 1.

One piece seems very happy go lucky and it is sometimes but the mangaka has this philosophy that you can't truly know happiness if you've never experienced despair so if it wins and you start it prepare yourself because you will cry and laugh in the same episode
