Luke, you need to remember that this is based on a game with multiple routes. There is lore and character development in all options throughout the game, even the ones that lead to bad endings. There's much more lore for each of the characters, even for some extra students.

at 46: they base the animes in the censored version of the game (Realta Nua). But in the original they totally did it.

Now like said others, what can Luke enjoy from here following Stay Night main line are... The movies Heaven Feel, any other Fate like Ataraxia/CCC, or some base of Tsukihime to get fully into Carnival Phantasm

Babylonia is good, but Camelot definitely not so much. Can't speak on Solomon as I haven't watched. There are 2 specific fights in HF that to me are easy top 10s in anime, so hopefully he appreciates those.

Kuzuki, Caster's master, is not a mage. He's just a former assassin who defected. His job was to kill someone, then die. But he didn't die, he continued living until he ran into Caster. The magic that was being used on his fists was magic Caster cast on him, Kuzuki himself cannot use magic. And as for how he defeated Saber, there are two reasons. The first is that his fighting style is strange. It is described as making unusual movements that are misleading. The second is that he caught Saber by surprise. If Saber ever tried fighting him again, she would win easily. She knows his fighting style and she won't be surprised. Normally a human would not stand a chance against even the weakest of Servants.

Right, honestly one of the fights was probably the best animated fight scenes imo that i have ever seen. Has only been this past year or so that other fight scenes have come close to it for me. Just my opinion.

Luke can you please lower the volume of the sound effects in stream? They're like 4 times louder than you talking and the videos you're watching, and when people play them it's actually audibly painful for us headphone users

The thing is that he doesn't want to destroy the world, he wants to rule it. He wants to destroy almost all of humanity. The grail is specialised in killing humans, while leaving the land itself untouched.

I really wish people would stop mentioning the original version of the VN the way they do. The game was originally not intended to have them but the publisher pushed for their inclusion. The developers agreed so they could get the game published and sold, and later added the patched version that added the scenes as intended along with voice acting, better art, and more. There's a reason all the H scenes feel so awkward, forced, and poorly written and it's because they were. The non-sex version was always meant to be the real version. It's what the devs intended, it's what the canon is. It's not censored it's fixed. If Ufotable and Type Moon thought the sex scenes were the canon they legitimately would have just animated them as that. Do you really think Ufotable has any issues animating a sex scene?

Not quite. Ea works by ripping the texture of whatever layer Gilgamesh is in. This means reality marbles, like ubw, or even the "human world", which is just another layer of the actual real world. Ea is powerless against anything that does not rely on the textures of a layer. A true ancestor, which has direct texture control as an incarnated nature spirit (a rank above even divine spirits), would have little difficulty managing an attack by Ea. There are plenty of noble phantasms that either bypass or are unaffected by what Ea does. Avalon, Lord Camelot, Ten crowns, Kavacha and Kundala for defensive nps. Excalibur actually overpowers Ea outright under the right conditions, and others do too: vasavi shakti, pashupata are other examples. Avalon is the only "NP" (technically not one since it's the real original deal, not ever summoned) that confers invincibility, it is impossible to harm Artoria if she holds it.

What I meant to say is that it feels like the scales always tip in Gilgamesh's favor when he draws Ea. Wheras saber has Excalibur drawn all the time and it still feels like a fair fight. Im not too knowledgeable on Fate but if Excalibur is the greater weapon why does Archer claim to be able to replicate it when Shirou seemingly couldn't scan Ea at all.

I've been following you for many months on youtube/patreon and I love what you do but for the love of god turn off those f***** audio alerts.... Whether it's for the ecchi or sad scenes it's so annoying, the sound is absurdly loud and totally breaks the immersion

The animation is fine but the adaptation is all over the place. Yeah it's the closest thing to the Fate route we have, but it's still a mish-mash of routes and fanfic. It's got some great music and scenes, but Luke generally seems to prefer zoomer anime and DEEN/SN is more of a "you had to be there to get the full lulz out of it" situation.

This bit late but for context ubw route in the vn had 2 endings this one shown is the true ending, but if you did certain actions and seen certain scenes you got the good ending where Saber actually stayed with them.

One thing i love from the Visual Novel, is that for the "Mana Transfer" scene, Rin tells Saber about her plan beforehand which we see in the anime, so if you choose to visit Saber before going to Rin, Saber essentially acts all proud that Shirou is getting laid without directly telling him 😂
