YES!!! THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER! I suggested watching this so long ago and I was excited when they finally added it to streaming services. Fun fact about me, but I actually went to see this in theaters THREE times! I saw it twice within the first two months of release, and when it got a rerelease because it did so well, I saw it again! Best movie ever in my opinion, definitely the best Makoto Shinkai film yet. I'm excited for this director's next project because he only gets better with time.

The ending hits like a truck, all the more so knowing director Shinkai drew inspiration from the real events in Japan for this. What a remarkable movie. The world we live in, and life itself, can be gruesome so truly cherish your loved ones and be nice to others too. You never know what they are going through.

Ah I love this movie so much! I went to see it twice on theatre, the sound design is just so amazing and really makes the important scenes hit so much harder. I cried at the end again with you. The movie had a happy ending but it is so tragic what it is based on.

Gods are fickle beings. Daijin probably just became interested in being a cat. As for why the other one attacked Daijin, I think it's because he's trying to take him back to become a keystone.

Whats not new is the fact that he watches shows that were voted in by the viewers on stream. For him to watch Overlord it will have to win over every other anime being voted in.

I love this movie, especially the music. The main theme, Suzume, is one of my favorites. Still kind of wish the credits were watched, but I understand theres copyright issues

Personally I think trhat Suzume is the weakest of the newest 3 films, but most people I have talked to say its the best of the three. Might be recency bias. I like Weathering With You the best as it has a complex plot with characters that develop and have multiple sides, and also the tone was a little bit darker but still hopefull. It ats core its a love story also, in comparison to Suzume where its kind of a friends and family story.

Agreed, and Makoto Shinkai himself said he wanted to make something else that wasn't romance, but since he was forced to, he made the guy be what he is. I always felt it was a random thing to do since the general theme of Suzume is beautiful (no spoilers again), but now it makes sense!
