Ok, Luke, if you find the "are you really Shinichi" line to be odd in real life. Try to imagine this. Your wife (and I'm just going to assume some traits of hers) is timid, often displays emotions, never angry (without reason), and afraid of bugs. Then, one day, she behaves a bit odd. Enough to notice, but not something you think much of. A couple of days later she doesn't come back home. You try to contact her, still nothing. About five days later shes back, looking sickly and worn down, 1000 yard stare, and makes some excuse as to what happened but not in much detail. After she came back you notice she seems strange, changed in a way. No longer timid, shes more outspoken but still somehow passive. When you hang out and speak she seems way less emotional, less laughter, less crying, less smiling, less caring. You do still see those emotions every now and then, still as vibrant, just not as often. Worst of all she lashes out in anger at seemingly random things, never before have you seen this. At the same time she never asks you for help handling bugs anymore. One time you see her crush a spider in her hand. Weird since you know she hates bugs and have for her whole life. You keep asking how or why they have changed, but she just denies having changed at all. During all this a rumor spreads, "shapeshifting monsters are replacing people in our life, the only way to tell is to check their hair". Curious you do the test on your wife after the rumor seems to stick. And lo and behold. Nothing. She hasn't changed. But you know she has. Now you can only question your self. Is the rumor wrong? Are there no monsters? But horrible things are happening way more as of late. Maybe the test was bad? But are they suspicions of me now then? But I'm sure she has changed, right? With no answers, a lot of contradictions in everything you "know" and think, how certain could you feel about your wife? Sorry for the wall of text, I honestly just wondered if you had thought thoroughly through the situation. Keep up the good work Luke. And anyone else who read this whole thing, good on you

The issue with your logic is that she's been asking since before he even disappeared and before the rumors of monsters was even widespread, I'd understand if she only questioned later on but she asked the question before he even had any major changes and keeps bringing it up like every other time they have a proper conversation
