Most people just gloss over Fern's first smile The pendant Frieren was holding is the certification of a 1st class mage from hundreds of years ago, they changed them to paper certificates but she couldn't be bothered to renew it every time All we know about Frieren's age is that she's at least 1000 years old and Kraft is much older, possibly approaching the 5 digits

Him being a bigger voice actor does not simply determine his screen time. Plenty of voice actors come and go on different anime. Although this won't be the last time we see this character.

So you touched upon a very interesting thing. "It's such a big VA so surely he will be important". Well, that's one of the reasons why sub will be always better than dub because it's not always true. There are cases where big VAs voice small, almost unimportant characters. Obviously it comes from an abundance of tier 0 VAs so they can just do it and bamboozle you into thinking that which isnt the case for English dub where you just dont have so many options. Also im not a manga reader (yet) so if Kraft becomes an important character later, I wouldnt know just yet and I dont want to know.

Fern is a war orphan who's spent most of her life being raised by Frieren and Heiter. By that notion, she's naturally more emotionless than others - because Fern hasn't had much other interaction with others besides Frieren and Heiter. Fern's actually quite emotive, she just doesn't know how to properly express those feelings. Her interactions with Stark is probably her most obvious display of emotion (Sass/Snark at Stark), but her other emotions (such as fear, doubt, etc.) are normally masked by the poker face she's grown up with. TL;DR: Fern is pretty emotional, she just hides it well. Because she was raised mostly by Frieren and because of Fern's past, it causes her to have a pretty good poker face; however, if view Fern through the lens of an traumatized orphan being raised by an aloof and powerful mage, you can see that her emotions are pretty well-hidden.

To add (23:13). Elves are more uncommon because the Demon King tasked his followers to kill all the elves, leading to a dramatic decrease to their number. Because of the elves' lack of desire, their smaller numbers only dwindled further. Older elves either died during the Demon King's reign or simply died off on their own (natural or unnatural). Elves like Kraft and Frieren, therefore, don't appear to be the "usual" type of elf - both have some inner agency to improve their skills and take a somewhat active role in life.

Yeah, yes he is! After you see JOJO you can't possible mistake again some very big VA (from what you have seen characters like Papa Shirogane/Zeke, Erwin):)) . Man, don't worry about catching up, I am still very surprised that you watch so many anime shows as the same time and there is not a single garbage anime (well of course excepting Madoka, I know that some people are going to defend this but you gotta admit that some shows are objectively bad, sometimes trolls gotta win, life can't be perfect:)) )

Glad to see you get a chance to do more Frieren! Hope you feel better and don't worry too much about the delays. Regarding Fern being third class; this was just as Heiter died. She hadn't fought her first monster yet or learned anything beyond basics from Frieren at that point. I'd assume she'd be first class by now but maybe we'll see when they get to the city.

I wonder if the reason Frieren collects the fake tomes of her master is out of respect. Like she doesn't want her masters name associated with inferior magic, so she collects it all so people only associate her master's name with the amazing magic she could actually cast.

Fmab is on the garbage disposal section and I suffered through all 64 episodes for £300 to watch it with my brother and I hated the series and I also hate the MAL bots that literally bomb reviews on other series just because there was far superior animes than that garbage to be sitting at the top.

I don't think we got a precise age for frieren, but since she mentioned to Aura that she is over 1000 years old and it was mentioned that Flamme died a thousand years ago, I'd assume that she is under 2000 years old, but not by too much. She didn't really age since meeting Flamme, so if you look at Kraft, I'd assume he is quite a bit older, like 5000+ years. Also friendly reminder that the main reason there are barely any elves is that the demon king hunted them down and killed them.

Frieren is over 1000 years old. The flashback with Flamme was a 1000 years ago, so its hard to tell how old exactly. But Frieren was seemingly a lot younger back then. I haven't read the Manga so I don't know if there is an exact answer (please dont spoil it if there is).

Yeah, frieren is not a heavy action packed anime. When we do have some action, the quality is top notch though ! But dialogues and the topics covered in this ed were very interesting in my opinion

Ya frieren seems to.be early teens when flamme found her so figure 100-200 hears to get to that point conservative guess would put her around 1300

I can't believe Luke forgot that Fern is an incredibly traumatized child. She saw her parents murdered in front of her and barely escaped with her life. She tried to unalive herself, before Heiter found her and convinced her to give life a chance. And then she got hooked up with Frieren who taught her magic as she was growing up, and you know how detached Frieren herself is. Yes, Fern has issues expressing her emotions because she's the literal definition of a traumatized child who never developed emotional bond or proper social skills.

While I don't think that FMAB is bad, I agree with rest of your post. Thankfully for now "bombing" didn't seem to work. It wasn't done by actual bots, it was done by humans who purposefully disliked any anime that managed to "surpass" FMAB in MAL ranking. Though I have more important things in life than worrying about MAL ;)
