The world god only knows is so nostalgic, really love watching it back when it aired. Watching the openings again makes me wanna rewatch it right now. It's about a guy that's always only focused on Visual Novels and never has had any interest in real girls, but stuff happens and he has to romance them using the things he learned in the Visual Novels he played. Can't really remember much more than that.

Apothecary is beautiful in animation too, very recommended, please watch….. god only know is interesting premise for a harem anime, it’s fun. It’s a guy who is basically a god I. Harem games ( hence the PSP) and he is enlisted by the witch looking girl to help rizz up girls to capture evil spirit. I haven’t rewatched it in yonks but it’s a fun one to watch. I have the full 8 minute first OP in my play list.

The full version for Hana ni Natte, by Ryokuoushoku Shakai (it is a group, not a single singer. The lead vocal is called Nagaya Haruko), is really good, but the Music Video is quite "WTF-ish", because the visuals and the lyrics do not match AT ALL 😅 Also, the voice of Nagaya kinda reminded me of the voice of Yue, from Tsukuyomi. And the voice of AiNA THE END kinda reminded me of Milet 😅

The World God Only Knows is basically about a total dork who does nothing but play dating sims getting forced to make multiple girls falls in love with him because if he doesn't, he'll die. Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd give it the title of best harem anime, it's harem, but without the sus stuff usually found in harem anime

About "one guy alive in the world", well, there is "World's End Harem", about a world where almost all MAN died out, leaving only the WOMEN behind as survivors and a a few male survivors (five, I think). The title says much about itself 😁

About AINA THE END (Apothecary Diaries Ed): You actually do know and have reacted to AINA (Ah-e-na) on THE FIRST TAKE, Song No. 369, where she uses the name Kyrie (where she crouches on the floor). And as you will be starting Heavenly Delusion shortly, AINA also was the lead vocalist of the group BiSH who did the opening of that anime (Innocent Arrogance) and has since disbanded (I had also posted this on the 50 endings reaction).

The Apothecary Diaries has good story till now but it's new and still ongoing. Setting is China - life of a female servant in emperor's harem. I would like to see you react to older animes with female protagonist at first: Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) 2014 Kamisama Hajimemashita (Kamisama Kiss) 2012 Ouran Highschool Host Club 2006 Kaichou wa Maid-sama! Hi there, These god only knows' openings are all sung by ELISA (credited as "Oratorio The World God Only Knows" in the anime). She's a very talented singer who also sang the first ED of The Irregular at Magic High School that you skipped or didnt find (here's a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM9eqa6aH0U ), she also performed in various other animes. The Kusuriya's ED is sung by Aina the END, a former BISH member (who also did the Gundam Witch from Mercury ED that you really enjoyed) Apart from that, I recommand you the Blood+ OPs and EDs (4 of each) which are amazing, and the Gundam 00's ones (same number of songs). Without SPOILERS The World God Only Knows is a romantic comedy. The anime is about about a dude who is forced to use his game-based knowledge from "dating sims" to make real girls fall in love. All because some souls escaped from the hell and hid inside girls heart to feed on their negative energy... so an elite squad of young devils were send to catch them. And each of them pairs up with one human who needs to drive these souls from girls hearts. Anime is absurd but great. And weirdly enough, while it is categorized as "harem" there is no harem in it, and author treat all characters like actual human beings with complex emotions, and not a set of parameters and cliches, like most titles from this genre do. Though main hero treat people like set of parameters...

The third world god only knows opening was sung by Saori Hayami, a very famous voice actress who voices a character in the show as well as popular characters in current anime like Yor from Spy x Family The First and Second openings are sung by the band Oratario the World God only Knows and are very talented

The World God Only Knows is a pretty interesting romantic drama. The cool thing with the OPs is that the full versions are LONG, very long, so if you want to react to the full versions in another video that would be cool. The issue it has is that Season 3 is actually Season 4 and skips an entire season worth of story and then just has all the new characters show up like you should know who they are. Then the studio went under the next year and so a continuation of the series is unlikely.

I caught up with the novels for Apothecary Diaries last month when it was on 'catchup' on J-Novel Club and have been following it since. Maomao is an amazing character and there are some incredible moments throughout the series. I really hope they manage to reach the scene I most want animated... Beautiful woman dancing across a blanket of snow amidst a hail of primitive gunfire until a couple make her stagger and fall from a cliff... heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time

I would also describe it as the last anime where harem was a main genre rather than a subgenre. Was so good that it both revived a dying genre so it could kill it itself.

Kevin freaking Penkin does the soundtrack for Apothecary Diaries. God Only Knows is a harem anime, and one of the few with a good premise that makes sense. It has a little fantasy/supernatural twist to it, but it is more of a basis to the premise than a driving force.

A lot of the more current anime have official releases of the opening and ending from the studio YouTube channels. You should react to those ones instead as they won’t be altered to avoid copyright issues. The Apothecary Diaries opening you listened to was slightly sped up and had some kind of filter so it did not sound right

The world god only knows season 1 and 2 are just the prologue to the season 3. This is one of the best harem anime with good storyline until the end. Sad they cut some part of the story in the anime so I suggest you read the manga after the anime. And this will be a good for reaction video. Trust me!

Yeah, the first OP for the World God Only Knows is a multiple movement piece that covers a few different styles of classical and modern music. Although only a little bit of it is used for the opening I am quite certain that they use the rest of the piece throughout the show as part of the soundtrack. Also since this was one I suggested before, I guess my next recommendation would be Amazing Break, and the other Opening for Terraformars.

The Apothecary Diaries is my number one for this season for sure. Is it popular? Certainly not for everyone genre and setting wise. But the quality is there. I’ve been enjoying such anime series much more lately than before as well. Big sucker for anything resembling “Ascendance of a Bookworm” or “ Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion”. Although comparing Bookworm to the other two is a stretch, certain characters from the Bookworm carries same sort of vibe throughout the show as the other two. Love the dynamics among characters as well. I think that’s the biggest appeal.

I think this is in the synopsis so it shouldnt be a spoiler: He is called "the god of dating sims".. and the goddess of love or something gives him the mission of injecting romance into lonely girls lives.. so he hits the targeted girls up and treats their encounter and dates like a dating sim. and fills their heart with emotions they previously lacked.

The ending song for Apothecary Diaries sounded familiar is because the singer is AINA the End who also sung the Ending song for Season 2 Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. She is the lead singer from the group BiSH which sadly disbanded in June 2023.

The anime you are thinking of its probably World end Harem. But you can say this anime is the predecessor of these type of harem anime like 100 girlfriend and a really good one at that. It not as heavy fan serviced like most harem anime and it's MC is also uniqur compared to the usual clumsy/perverted or dumb MC in harem anime

I think that the reason The World God Only Knows OP's are so poplar is because it's rare case that they are sung in english and the lyrics each reflect the theme of their respective season. It probably doesn't gel for you since you haven't seen the show. As far as the anime itself goes. In my book, it's a worthwhile watch. Even if you don't do a react. It's very well written for the genre and at points the animation stepped ahead of it's time. If you only watch one harem, this is the one. The harem that isn't really a harem until....
