I'd like to just say again, in the light novel the reader wasn't told that it was Syphie until Rudy figures it out. Due to being able to see and hear her, the anime decided to just tell us out the gate, which has the effect of making Rudy look very stupid.

Can't wait for you to finally watch One Piece someday. It is king of interconnected world and mysteries. Your comment about loving underlying mysteries of Man-god, etc. really reminder me of One Piece. Some of the mysteries are yet to be revealed and just recently we started to get more and more info into dozens of the biggest mysteries. Everything is connected in One Piece, which can make it really difficult to read/watch weekly, since you will forget things you saw 200+ episodes ago. I think someone did mention about Fitz's glasses acting as some kind of magical "mask" to hide your identity. It would make sense, since Rudy hasn't caught on and no one else seems to suspect that Fitz is in fact a girl. I am just paraphrasing, haven't read the LN.

Bit of context on Badigadi and why hes there. (this is going off memory of the LN) Kishirika had informed him of Rudues and talked about how interesting of a fellow he was (this is explained in the episode). Badi wanted to meet Rudy because of that, it had nothing to do with the beast people stuff. During the scene where Badi and Rudy were waiting for the staff, they removed some lines from the LN, surrounding the Orsted part. Going along the lines of this Badi: you met the dragon god and survived? Rudy: Yes Badi: Did you injure him? Rudy: yes but it was only a scratch. Badi: use the same move you used to injure the dragon god on me. This is me paraphrasing it as i cannot remember the full conversation. This just gives a bit more context on that scene.

The anime didn't show it, but Rudeus literally blew up Badigadi's upper half with his attack. But since Badigadi can recover from any injury, he survived, although depending on how much damage he takes, he ends up with a smaller body that grows back over time.

I'm waiting for the last Mushoku Tensei Light Novel to release (in English), but the Mushoku Tensei webnovel has been finished for like 8 years I believe. So yeah, the story was long finished before the first anime episode came out.

I decided to start getting the LNs and am disappointed in SevenSeas (the distributor in the US) for not having copies of most volumes in print. Can't even get Volume 2 without 2nd hand scalping prices asking more than double cover price. Hoping by the time Volume 26 is out they're rectifying that.

I am in love with this series and I'm glad that it is a completed one and, as far as we know, going to get a proper anime adaptation (even thought it is skipping/passing over some details) Just might be a few years before it's all done.

The translation isn't really the best here, it's not that Elinalise can't have just one partner it's more along the lines that one partner usually isn't able to "contribute" enough in her experience.

it doesnt show it very well in the anime, but that attack from rudeus completely obliterated badigadi from the legs up, but he is immortal so he regenerated, which again they dont say that here in the anime for some reason, but its information that you should know from this episode onward

hey Luke, instead of relying on us to clumsily explain what the anime skipped i recommend watching the YouTube channel 'otaku spirit' skipped content videos for anime onlys. hes a small channel but hes a brilliant creator that does a great job of filling in the blanks without spoiling anything. (just stay out of the comment section lol)

The blue haired girl is Nina, she came to beat up Rudy, make him bow to her superiority and drag him back where she came from in order to humiliate him in front of a "certain" person to put that person in their place. This isn't a spoiler because she literally talks about her plans in the LN. I'm not going to go into the who here because we may just hopefully get another OVA featuring the side story of that person like we got with the Goblin Slaying adventure in season 1.

Really? They sort of completely explain it in season 1, though I admit it is explained in piecemeal throughout the season. In this world you have Melee fighters and Mages (a few others in between but they aren't central to things). With melee you have 3 different styles of sword with a ranking system for each style. Sword God which is the most direct right at you style, Water God which focuses on defending and countering and North God which focus on tricks and underhanded tactics. For each Style there are 7 attainable ranks starting from beginner to intermediate to advanced to Saint to King to Emperor finally God. Magic like swords have elements instead of styles but share the same ranking system as swords. Beginner to intermediate to advanced to Saint to King to Emperor finally God. The elements are fire, earth, wind, water and for lack of a better term for it Holy. Like melee individuals will have ranks in each element showing their power level in each. With magic mana level is very important since the mage has to put mana in, manipulate it and push it out. The amount they have can and will determine their power.

Actually there is no confirmation that OVA is happening. Skipped content is not a spoiler, it's skipped content. Please don't conflate the two, it was said in both the LN and the manga so I discussed it here. I omitted that persons name on purpose obviously to avoid spoiling and was vague enough to not give it away. If I had just straight said there name then yeah I might agree with you but I didn't so...

@matthew I disagree, the question isn’t IF we’ll get something regarding this content but WHEN and HOW. They can’t avoid telling this part of the story as it’s crucial to future arcs. The general consensus in the community is that it will be covered in the season 2 OVA or possibly Season 3 episode 0 so it’d be best to wait to discuss it then. To call it “skipped content” and spoil it for people who haven’t read the books is just sad and mean spirited

True they will have to eventually get the Sword Sanctum arc, but until they officially announce it there's no certainty. Is it not skipped or cut content? When content in a LN or Manga is not added to the anime for whatever reason then yeah that is what it is. Sometimes that content is set up for future events or plot like Nina in this episode, lots of writers do this Oda is especially good at it. So no it spoils absolutely nothing as Rifujin na Magonote wrote her in specifically as a setup to that person and their eventual arc not as a spoiler, as a setup to future events period end of story. We can debate as to why the director chose to leave certain content out fine, that's a valid discussion. This though is not a valid debate because to be quite blunt you're just wrong.

Actually the magic in the Sunglasses of the Rescuer don't make someone unrecognizable, they are a magic item but concealment isn't the ability they provide. Sylphie on the other hand does have red eyes which is very unusual and very noticeable, if Rudy had seen her eyes uncovered by those sunglasses he would have most likely connected the dots right away.

Mushoku is certainly one of those stories which feel to be completed. Nothing will ever beat One Piece when it comes to the scale of the world, but stories such a Mushoku Tensei and Ascendance of a Bookworm definitely come close to it. I’d say each of these 3 lack in some areas as each focuses more on certain aspects of the world than the other, but yeah, they’re all of the highest tier when it comes to the world immersion.

The author started writing it at the end of 2012, finished all of it in early 2015, roughly 2.5 years to finish 24 books. After that he got published and also wrote some extra books, some prequel books, some expanding on the lore of the 6 faced world, some giving us extra stuff from the later part of the main story, total of 31 books.

More respect for my boy Cliff! Best character and best couple in mushoku tensei, priest x bitch. The anime didnt made it that much clear but Cliff is related to the Milis church which is the only monogamic representation in this world and that makes this so so so so so much more unexpected. Also, about the "banging curse", its not the Elinalise needs to bang with different man, its just that usualy one man can't handle the much of banging she needs. So the conclusion was that she's going to try her best to hold as much as possible so ma boy Cliff dont literaly bang to dead.

Elinalise has had way too much sex, but no relationships romantically, so the offer by Cliff is the first time she has had somebody willing to help her in that regard. It is of course amazingly complex and problematic surely.

@nikum here are some simple definitions for you to ruminate on Spoiler: a description of an important plot development in a television show, movie, or book which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader. Cut Content: content that didn't make it into the show for whatever reason. Nina was in the LN, Nina was in the manga. Nina spoke about her plans for Rudy in the LN, Nina spoke about her plans for Rudy in the manga. Nina showing up is a lead in to the Sword Sanctuary Arc. The anime adds the character in, doesn't have her say a single thing and removes all context of said characters motivation. Tell me is that cut content or is that a spoiler? And what exactly did I "spoil"? I didn't give the name of that person nor was my description in any way telling to whom Nina was talking about. I didn't mention the Sword Sanctuary at all nor who Nina is related to, that spoiler and yes that could very well be a considered a spoiler was dropped by @Roxy's Holy Relic not me who was trying to say I was spoiling. Since he let the cat out of the bag sure I've repeated it in our discussions. So then who is the "total ass" here?

he usually uses about 1s otherwise it gets really distracting with multiple futures seen at the same time. Also for Rudy it's pretty much useless against someone on level of Ruijerd or Ghyslaine, he'd not be able to avoid attack even if he saw it. On top of that there are ways to fight ppl with this demon eye, in the novel Ruijerd said he had experience with it, for example it doesn;t matter you can see future if you fight in the dark

Badi is immortal, as he proclaimed himself at the end of the episode, Rudy did kill him but he revived(subtitle was slightly off with "I have returned" which should have been "I have revived").

Not a spoiler, but one extra bit of context, lost everywhere in the anime adaptation is the discussion about "battle aura", which is how Eris and Ruijerd and other melee-style fighters are like superheros. Rudeus does NOT have the ability to use battle aura, which Badigadi is very perplexed by.

-Badi is just there to duel Rudeus because of what Kishirika said about him. The others also wanted to duel Rudy for totally different reasons. The people in line assumed Badi was there for the same reason as them and told him he had to beat them all first. -Blue haired girl is somewhat important for other storylines so she might get an OVA like the Goblin Slaying Eris. -Elinalise said she'd try to hold herself back for Cliff's sake, since her normal frequency of needing the "fix" would leave normal men begging for her to stop. She will hold back just enough to keep Cliff from being hurt and to also keep her curse from killing her.

Light novel 9 chapter 4: “The stone slammed into Badigadi with an enormous bang. His entire upper body was blown apart; his six arms disintegrated instantly. His lower half, still intact, soared dozens of meters backward and plopped limply to the ground. What was left of Badigadi didn’t even twitch.” The anime shows him getting blown back a bit but it’s not really very faithful to the novel, most novel readers seem to be pretty disappointed by the anime adaptation of the the duel

I feel the censorship of this episode kinda killed the scene between Rudeus vs Badi I saw several reactions of people having no clue what actually happened. In the novels, Badigadi's entire torso was blown up, only leaving his legs and arms. Very graphic. But he resurrects, because hes immortal, very quickly. I feel the Anime could have spent more time reinforcing what actually happened. Felt very rushed. Not to mention the very important story related discussion they have before the fight. Most of it was cut out, despite it being very crucial dialogue.

No, Cliff isn't an idiot; he's a man that fired his shot (figuratively and literally) and tamed a wild woman. As far as Elinalise with her curse and settling down with one man - you've hit on a topic that people simply don't understand or refuse to: yes, Elinalise is under the effects of a curse. That curse forces her to have sex on a regular basis, otherwise she risks dying. That curse does NOT force her to let five or more men rail her all at the same time. She does that by choice - because she's a sex addict that uses her curse as an enabler. Her curse does not prohibit her from settling down with one man - which is what makes what Cliff pulled off in taming her even more impressive.
