THIS ANIME IS KICKING MY A**!!!!!!

Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to RE:ZERO Episode 9! Director's Cut!

Enjoy!!

Comments

fili0938

Episode 17 is simply better in the original version.

donald cuck

nooo its directors cut! (whats the difference with normal episodes plz? lmao)

Matt Tucker

nooooooooo X.X guhhh we kept asking to have thise one non directors.... bleh

The Broken one

supposedly one of the OSTs, I tried looking into it and couldn't figure it out /shrug

Andres

Ost on episode 17 end scene is just 10/10 in normal version. In this version is just meh

donald cuck

yeh me too, i checked both versions and its the exact same, tbh i dont think its a big of a deal anyway, re zero is good enough to not depend on crazy OSTs, even if it does make it better

LordDanzo

In the original version at the end the ED plays (which doesn't fit at all but nostalgia), in director's cut this is replaced with a more fitting OST. It's during Petelgeuse's speech around 59:20.

Fay X84

Right is Migi 右 The little beast girl name is Mimi.

Toasterfinal5

Fun Fact, JVA, Ueda Kana, does the voice of Anastasia Hoshin in RE:Zero and also Rin Tohdaka in Fate/Stay Night: UBW

Moxx

@23:20 — The hand in parasite is Migi, not Mimi. Migi means "right". Mimi means "ear".

Chandler Plays

Mimi is not migi, mimi actually means ear in Japanese, could imply she has great hearing, while migi means right, like you said

ArtKi

The interaction between Subaru and Priscilla baffled me. And a lot of other people. Here's a comment I found on a youtube reaction that explained things so simply that even *I* could understand ------------ @zero2champion419 Let's break down the Priscilla scene and why she turned down helping Subaru, since her scene tends to be commonly misunderstood. Crusch & Anastasia's justification is pretty straightforward: We have nothing to gain & things to lose from helping, Subaru seems unhinged & unstable, his Intel might be unreliable, the whole thing might be a Witch Cult ploy & we have far more pressing matters to attend to with the selection going on. Priscilla is a bit less clear cut, but think its all to do with motivation & natural talent for insight into people's natures. As a side note analyzing her behavior in this scene made me realize how much she reminds me of Gilgamesh from Fate. The first thing we need to establish is that Priscilla is indeed "testing him", but not about whether he will or wont lick the foot, but how he goes about doing it. Body language cues revealing motive & the like. As she said, either decision he could have made would entertain her, but instead he ends up making her so angry she decides that she will make it her current active goal to destroy any political camp that welcomes someone like Subaru into its midst. Why is that? The biggest keys are in her wording just after she kicks him, but as set up: Priscilla said earlier she admired his devotion & loyalty to his "master" (Emilia) despite how poorly he had clearly been treated by them recently. Effectively: she found the idea that he is so wholeheartedly devoted to Emilia's well-being to be endearing & she would probably consider helping him purely out of a sense of affection towards that devotion. She gives him the choice of abandoning any semblance of self-respect or pride he might still be carrying as a further show of his devotion as an opportunity to tip her over the edge into "it might be entertaining to help out this helpless wretch" territory. Even if he decides to hold on to his pride she would consider that to be entertaining in its own way, "even this man will only go so far". But when Subaru actually goes to do it, the way he goes about it seems to trigger Priscilla to have an epiphany about Subaru & realizes that she had his motives all wrong. "What you just displayed was neither loyalty nor devotion. It's something more filthy, like a dog's dependence or a pig's greed. You lazy pig who only knows how to want!" Subaru isn't petitioning for her help out of a deep seated sense of devotion & loyalty to Emilia but out of a toxic dependence on her approval for his own self-esteem, irrelevant of how Emilia actually feels or benefits from it. He wants her help so that he can be Emilia's savior, not so that Emilia will be saved (even if he himself doesn't realize this). This sudden revelation of Subaru being so unfathomably parasitic in his total dependence on Emilia causes her full 180 from moderate affection for unshakeable loyalty to enraged disgust at his total dependence. Total selfishness & total selflessness are two sides of the same coin, and closer inspection has revealed what she thought was one to actually be the other. She immediately throws him out and swears that any group that would allow a disgusting parasite like Subaru to be a part of it is an eyesore to her, and says she will personally seek to destroy any such group in future. So basically she was offering him the chance to show his dedication to Emilia, but instead he ended up revealing his total dependence on her. The Greed Of A Swine.

FaerieRose

The hand thing is Migi, which means “right”. The beast girl is Mimi, which means “ear” (because of her animal ears.)

ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΣ ΒΥΡΓΙΩΤΗΣ

I'm so glad you like Re:Zero so much!! The next two episodes are going to be amazing, you'll definitely love them! I'm also happy you like Otto so much, he's definitely the best boy!! I'm not going to spoil anything but you'll see gor yourself how The witch of Envy is connected to Subaru

LordDanzo

Luke every episode: "I love Rem". If you know you know.

Rur

Subaru is not selfish. He cares about his friends (he has known them only for some days) and helps them whenever. He even helped the villagets bitten by the evil dog even though he met them once or twice. The thing is that he gets mad when other people don't give their help freely like he does. Remember that Subaru can go somewhere else and forget this but he chose to devote himself to Emilia and her cause.

ArtKi

44:02 "It is like a game" And Subaru is a gamer!!

mjaomjao2

Things just gets increasingly hopeless

Moxx

@58:50 — "Confront", not "Comfort". Emilia failed to "confront" a sin.

Moxx

On Betty's relationship: Remember that she will remember from the first day Suburu showed up at the mansion (before Rem and Ram came by to wake him up) up to the winter festival, with all the stuff that happened there. There's quite a bit between her and Suburu, even without the lost timelines.

Muligan Shinzuo

Tbh i forgot about the whole white whale situation. The next couple episodes are gonna be awesome.

Dasher

When you talk about the things in the background being foreshadowing stuff that come up later as something crucial to the plot, you mean Chekhov's Gun. A Red Herring is a literal opposite of that, when something is shoved in your face as an obvious plot device to come up later, but in the end turns out that it was nothing at all and was only meant to distract/deceive you. Also, I think while Subaru's behaviour is obviously crazy and selfish, it's still realistic when you consider just how traumatized he got in the last couple loops, and just how scared, helpless, and desperate he is to avoid it happening again.

Pakom

‎”Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.”

LordDanzo

Note that this isn't the first time Betty has said that. In episode 4 (or 7 in original) she says: "you need to die somewhere I can't see you, or else I'll have bad dreams, I suppose."

dragonguard666

What happened to the Spy x Family reactions?

Nero Integrate

He should get the knights to help??? They all want him DEAD for what he did in the throne room. That's the one thing he should NOT try to do lmao.

Alpora

btw in the previous episode puck said "sleep, ALONG with my daughter" and not "sleep, like my daughter"

WhateverItBe

Agreed, and his hatred toward witch cult has overwhelmed him to think/ speak appropriately is understandable, based on what we saw in ep 15. One more thing, Subaru is just a normal teenager, and he is too naive when it comes to politics. He was still thinking in the way of "you help me and I help you, everyone can be friends" until the bubble lady teach him a slice of politics and negotiation.

Jay P

Subaru absolutely seems insane from other peoples perspective, and in truth he isn't far from it. He's been living a repeated hell and has seemingly no way out, and he's powerless to stop it (and he knows it) Only thing he sees can change it if he proves to somebody he's right, and that happens only if they go along and comfirm he can "see the future" Of course no one has any reason to do so, but in the scene with emilia, hes just that desperate. He just wants any out of the situation he can find. Even just begging someone to belive, as he cant explain everything fully.

Sebastian Stróż

So as you said, Subaru is an amazing protagonist because he is so "real". And I all of his flaws and mistakes makes him that "real" or realistic character. Considering all his experiences until now his mental health must be at the lower low it can ever be. Yet... he is pushing forward. Sure, he is doing it all wrong but if I were to put myself in his shoes I dont know if I would be able to do anything at all. I imagine for most people it would be just, well, kill yourself and end it all but thats not an option. Also, feeling bad watching Subaru now is the only right feeling. It's the same like saying "Oh I love Rudy in the first half of season 1". Well. Cannot wait for more reactions as this just gets better with each episode.

Thui

"mimi" just means "ears" in japanese. It is also some kind of pet nickname

Anon

they didn't say one of emilia's sins they said one of THE sins

js

So what body language would you use to "gracefully" lick a foot without being a "swine"?

_____ Rasse _____

Remember Flugel's name. It'll be important later in the series.

MWS

Betty and Ram are the nicest characters in this show but they camouflage that fact with their sarcasm

Pyzlnar

> Who wrote this?! A literal butcher! Who spent his time as a butcher thinking of different ways in which to kill Subaru. :(

Reennji

"Could you react to this opening before the next episodes? xD Flanders no Inu: https://youtu.be/YCbCCqQoWh0

Ricko Andrew

Betty doesn't know, you remember when subaru make a pact to protect him? And then subaru jump off the cliff, betty yell to him to stop. Betty doesn't know about his RbD. I think she meant that subaru want to die, but betty just doesn't want him to see him like this. And just throw him away

Max

This one was a tough watch lol. Who knew misreading one sentence could cause such confusion 😅 anyway excited for what’s to come

Tamus Heath

Obligatory "who is Rem?" jokes out of the way, this episode is great in proving that doing nothing is just as bad as overdoing everything. Whether he shouts at everyone, begs them to solve his problems, and threatens them when they won't, or simply shuts down and does nothing, it still ends with everyone he cares about dying. It's also a brilliant "this is why you suck Subaru" compilation, for the man himself to sit and stew about, which has been coming since Episode 13. I love him, he's a fantastically nuanced character, but he definitely needs a reality check

Abe J

... but which witch is the witch for which you speak 🤔 which witch indeed....

Sightless

why did you react to the directors cut for these episodes man? Everyone was saying not to for like the past 4 reactions.

Kevin V

Oh, so they changed Stay Alive for another one. Tbh, it didn't really made that much of a difference. I can understand why the director changed it. They already used it a couple of episodes before (ep13), and the song fit better there than in this scene.

kloos

I do not know if you realized, but when Subaru is speaking to Emilia in reality he is talking about himself

Luca Bellan

Yes, I believe Subaru is one of the best written characters I've ever seen. like you said, is human, he makes mistakes, he's selfish... I think the whole point of this part is showing a Subaru we wouldn't like. At the beginning of the episode he's so blinded by the hatred for the Witch's Cult that he forgets about the important part. saving Emilia.

Sightless

@DefinitlyNotHana Look at the comments of the past couple episodes many people were telling him to not watch this episode of the directors cut and watch them separately because the directors cut changes many things in the original episodes for the worse

FizzyRamzy

There is a special reason why only Subaru remembers Rem after she was killed by the whale. But it is only explained in the novel.

Sai

Luke has his own little witch hunt going on. THAT'S THE WITCH! Is she is the witch!?

DefinitlyNotHana

Regarding the comments about what you misunderstood @Luke, Betelguese mentioned "confronting one of the sins" referring to Subaru (as explained before he believe Subaru is the sin of "Pride") He believe Subaru killed her, being the "pebble on the road" in he's sentence.

Thamor

As he never replies at all to patreon comments at all, I truly don't have much trust he reads that much of them at all. And honestly how many were spoiling last episode for Re:Zero he shouldn't read comments at all as there are always idiots who do spoilers.

Thamor

Wow well written comment. I give your probs as you nailed this topic. Why Subaru is one of the best written characters is because he isn't perfect or just fictional his behavior if you understand human psyche is well rooted in realism, but just in a fictional world.

Moofin

nah with everything revealed rn u could probably put the pieces together

javicco8

No one has been saying that. Luke would also not read the comments since there's so many spoilers, you would know if YOU read the comments.

ShironJackal

I thought for sure Aldebaran va was the same as wazukyan from made in abyss but it's actually not, IT IS however the same va as byakuya from Dr Stone I knew it was at least familiar

Emilis2023

I'd argue if you're a dude, then you'd be a weirdo not to jump at her offer.

BanTheUndead

I disagree with the "Subaru hasn't helped as much as he thinks he has", if anything he's helped more than they have realized considering that they have died repeatedly without his interference. He may not be the powerhouse himself but he is the one moving the pieces where they need to be to survive. That being said, his behavior in this arch is completely unacceptable. (except for the negotiation for the carriage, he was justified to be angry about being manipulated.)

StrykerEvol

Yes. It seems like he is avoiding the comment section a.t.m.. That being said. He has unlisted/hidden videos in his RE:Zero playlist on YouTube after this one. So i assume he has already prerecorded the final episodes of the season, so he can't be spoiled anymore. Or maybe so he can organize the releases more efficiently. Or maybe because he couldn't wait anymore. 😂

Frentzy

I think the anime didn't do as good of a smooth transition of his 'mental decay' early on. So a lot of people started to 'dislike him' later, but if they did a true mental breakdown episodes like okabe rintarou had, we understood there when he kept repeating the madness he was going through, but here it's less visible so you see him act as an asshole but you feel less empathy. Also I guess it doesn't help he is only 17y old. PS: I agree with you in the sense that without him, they would've died long time ago many times. He's the weakest & strongest super hero at the same time.

StrykerEvol

Yes! So glad you didn't get spoiled by the comments under the last episode. You had the fun (or pain 😂) of putting the clues together yourself and we could see your genuine reaction. That's just the best.

StrykerEvol

Honestly, i never understood it within 2 seasons. I always thought it was just because he was from another world, or because Return from Death let's him keep his memories after death. But that is apparently wrong as some people sadly told me. Don't tell me the truth btw. 😂

itaral

migi is the name of the parasyte not mimi

BanTheUndead

Betty is a sundere, she likes him as a person but she's effectively immortal, so she distances herself with meanness to protect herself from getting emotionally attached to people that will eventually leave since she can't follow (must stay near library) or will die before her. She's only really nice to Puck because he's even older than she is and also basically unkillable.

BanTheUndead

The light novel point is right on, the anime kinda skips over that for the most part to it's detriment. The only times you really see it is when he ran himself ragged, snapping at Amelia, and when he pretended to have gone crazy. I think that Subaru's behavior in the ova is way out of place on the timeline as well. I cant get into that though because of spoilers.

Frentzy

I live in a huge apartment multiple rooms with 3 people and , one of people here are exactly like subaru. They never explain logically and never use reason when they talk. They get into arguments with others and even when you give them a perfectly reason to their argument and they have nothing else to say, they just shut up, and they make you feel like shit in return for being right. Now I realize that subaru is the perfect representation of a normie bitchy person.

InflatedNailClipper

I think Luke means that Subaru may not be "viewed" as someone who has helped a lot. In reality, he's helped a ton (especially in Subaru's POV), but in most other people's view (aside from Rem), that may not be as much the case. That's why Emilia had a tough time understanding him because she doesn't know how much he's actually helped. I think Subaru just hasn't come to the conclusion yet that other people have their own views, not to mention that his actions don't carry onto the next life. This means his efforts completely vanish when he returns by death.

Frentzy

I guess he reacted first to this then to parasyte. cuz in ep 3 he got it right

josh

Not a spoiler but they did cut this from season 1. Aldebaran, or Al, in his first interaction from Subaru, told him that he is also from japan and has been in the other world for 18 years. That also why he calls Subaru brother. Since they share the same situation and nationality.

Kevin

Hold on to all those questions, some of them are REALLY important

Ultraporing

Thank you, this seems to me like an Interesting and Important World building fact they should have included...

Friendly neighborhood ghost Chan

Im so glad we are at a point where we can see Otto the Goatto, tge guys my favorite re zero character.

cell

As a ln reader, mentions of flugel bring me physical pain

cell

Ikr this is why I think re zero has such good rewatch value

cell

Al is just a whole complicated situation 😭

cell

Me getting ready to explain all the mistakes in the anime and translation in the second season cause there are so many 😭

BornOfOsiris

Puck has called Emilia his daughter multiple times in previous episodes. It's just how he views her since he protects her and watches over her

Just Mate

I wouldn't be surprised if they included it in season 3 or 4, once they interact a bit more, since dropping that fact within the first season would've changed quite a lot about how the world of Re:Zero is being perceived

Techno Chemist

One of my friends dropped the show around this point (or a couple of episodes ago, I forget exactly where) because he said he didn't like Subaru. I had to fight to keep myself from telling him that that's kind of the point during this part of the anime.

Suichoku

Pretty sure he is 3 episodes ahead with reactions. IIRC today on Twitch stream he did say that there was some highly upvoted YouTube comment with spoilers in it for next episode, but it didn't matter since he is ahead.

Adrian Muñoz

The redemption of Subaru is coming! I can't wait for the battle!

NitexKnight

You misread one of the lines and got confused by it. You thought it said that Betelguese said that Emilia was comforting one of her sins. What he actually said was she was "confronting" one of "the" sins.

David Lewis

Yes, Subaru is a bit of a PoS at this time, understandably so in my opinion. The situation is grim and even though it can reset, the horrors of what is going to happen are stuck in his mind. People he goes to for help don't just deny him, but put him down as worthless or pathetic because he's desperate.

Matthew Nichols

I didn't fully comprehend the short exchange with Betty when I first watched it, not that you were supposed to of course. Now that scene hits like a truck.

James Perrott

I truly cannot believe how badly the directors cut RUINED that ending scene, i knew it was bad, but seeing it here again im just in utter disbelief how much worse it is Pleeeeeeeeeeeease in your next reaction, just watch this ending scene again from the original episode 17, i know you didnt get to see it first time here, but youve got to see how emotional and intense it is with the ending song playing over it The purple hands appearing are made out to be a much bigger reveal with the song starting, and subaru screaming while the song is at its climax is genuinely one of the BEST scenes in the entire season, its one of the most memorable to me by far, but here? i cannot belive how bad the OST choice was Please consider watching the original version of just the last 2 minutes of episode 17 next recording session, youll be so glad you did

James Perrott

After seeing this again, i truly cannot belive how bad this version of that final scene was The fact there were people saying its just a minor change is just insane

James Perrott

Donald the fact that you saw this version first proves the scene was ruined This scene wasnt impactful or that big to you, when in the original its one of the most memorable in the entire season and incredibly good, its insanely emotional and intense Re Zero has one of the best anime soundtracks of all time, yes it absolutely to depend on that too. Imagine removing the OST from Attack on Titan with Erens mothers death, and using a non vocal non intense soundtrack, Try and tell me that scene would still be just as good. Attack on titan is massively improved due to the soundtrack, and re zero is no different

James Perrott

i cannot even begin to fathom having this opinion, like youve gotta be in some insane denial to just defend the directors cut, theres simply no explaining thinking this and genuinely beliveing it Most things are subjevctive, but i cannot belive for a second theres a single breathing person who believes this scene was better in the directors cut. Not one. it made a MASSIVE different. The scene here isnt intense at all, nor emotional. In the original, Stay Alive beginning as the unseen hands first show up make it out to be a big reveal, which it is. And Subaru screaming to stop as the music reaches its climax and how loud it is, ampifies the emotion massively and how serious the situation is. We all know subaru is going to die soon, so we know how gruesome this moment was about to be, and the intensity of the music makes you feel that so much more. This music used in DC is a complete joke. it has been used for scenes like subaru simply thinking of how to solve problems, or minor issues going on. It has no intensity, makes the scene far more quiet, and entirely ruins the scene. This scene in DC is not memorable whatsoever, has no impact and doesnt feel like a major climax to an episode. Using the song a few episodes ago is no excuse in the slightest, literally what are you on about. its the ENDING song of course its going to be used multiple times. the fact that you think one of the best ending songs of all time should be replaced by one of the weakest in the soundtrack just cause it played before is unreal

James Perrott

you were supposed to. it isnt hard to understand lol, she likes him, and doesnt want to see a friend die, cause that would make her feel awful

Some0neElse

This episode gave us one of the 2 biggest memes of the series - "Who's Rem". The other one is coming in the next episode :D As for Puck calling Emilia his daughter - i guess you either missed or forgotten about it but when Subaru was learning what type of magic he can do he and Puck were joking around saying Puck is like Emilia's father. I guess you'll learn more when you watch the OVA 2 (Frozen Bond)

Kurogato

"So the big ass creature that came out of the mansion was Puck!" oh really... Funny how Luke can be spot on about some very nuanced stuff and completely oblivious to the most obvious things lmao

Sigfried

come on a giant cat/dog/wolf who use ice power, who could it be... i was surprised you didn't guess last episode

Daniel Turchan

So, something untold in the story is, of the 7 sins, Pride is the only one missing, so when the sloth Betelgeuse says Emilia couldn’t confront one of the sins, she trips and falls over the first pebble in her path. He’s referring to Subaru who he keeps assuming is the sin Pride bc of his witch aura. He also said that when he first captured Subaru… and Betty doesn’t know about Subaru, what u saw was her seeing that Subaru was convinced he wanted to die and she could tell she couldn’t do anything to change his mind, u are right, she does care for Subaru, so she doesn’t want to see him die.

Regill Derenge

I can't... subaru is just too cringe.... I can't watch this cringe ass anime....

BanTheUndead

I've said nothing that wasn't said in the ova he watched, or that isn't easily guessed at based on personality or information he's watched already. Luke stop reading here. You pointing out spoilers only told him that there's more happening later with it.

Mariokempes

twitter user detected. I wonder what you would do in some hopeless situation dying over and over again seeing all your friends and family dies

Kyubey001

Nope, in the OVA it's said she's the second oldest in the mansion. It was never mentioned she's immortal so you spoiled it.

CoreTendency

And "Mimi" can mean "ear", though I suppose it could mean other things, too.

KDaBHoo

Him being cringe here makes the later parts all the better

Lucas Gianini

It's really fine (as someone who has seen both versions multiple times). Both versions are totally fine and work.

Lucas Gianini

Amazing how Luke manages to go crazy on theories and get some right based on minor details and then miss incredibly obvious stuff. Really missing the forest for the trees kind of deal. I will say, though, that I think Luke probably understands Subaru as a character better than most people I've seen react to this. And I'm convinced that people who think the show is bad because of the way Subaru's character is are only people who self-insert and can't understand that they'd probably do the exact same shit in his position.

axilir21

It will be much more enjoyable when you get older, I was 13 when I watched this the first time and I also tought Subaru was way too cringe

DevDSilver

well to be honest subaru knows very well that he is helpless and that he does not have the strength or resources to fix this by himself. He knows he got lucky with the 1st two incidents to get to his new checkpoint, however this case is way out of his control of just jumping head first into the fray. this is the first time he has to actually seek help and try to plan to keep everyone alive because as far as he knows keeping emilia alive is how he can stay progressing into the checkpoints. I is very hard to build and army to fight with you with information of an invasion but you cannot tell where you gotten the info from and it being centered out a cult that they obviously have trouble getting rid of. this man is down bad and stressed the hell out. I doubt that there is anyone who is able to calmly solve each incident that he has dealt with while having the same limitations that and he is a nobody that randomly popped out of nowhere with no connections. i do not fully defend his behavior but it is understandable. also with anastasia she basically tricked into giving possible dirt of the rival that could be linked back to him so now it makes him look like he repaid a favor with a slap to the face after storming out in a fit a rage.

2023-11-20 14:49:46 I love that you take in all the details and try to anticipate what is going to happen. I do need to say though that your definition of a red haring is a bit wrong or misunderstood, at least based on the way you explained it in this episode. You talk about a red haring as if its a thing that comes back around later. A red haring is a detail or objective or plot point that is intentionally put in to mislead the viewer. The way you describe it is more foreshadowing then a red haring. To place an object or detail or plot point that will become relevant later like your definition of the spear in horror movies. This also known as "Chehkov's Gun" a story telling concept that if you are going to emphasis on an object or plot point that it better become relevant later on in the story as a pay off to you putting emphasis on it. A better example of a red haring would be to put emphasis on the spear in a horror movie only to see the spear fall down right next to the person almost killing them and in the moment of relief when they think their safe the murder shows up behind them and kills them with an axe instead.

EGGY MCNUGGETS

Luke could spot a nat on a window with not even a spec of an animated pixel but when a giant ice creature emerges from the castle bro is wrestling with his thoughts to figure out what it could be 💀💀💀

Regill Derenge

I'm 31 and still too cringe for me. everytime Subaru talks I HAVE to pause the video...

Ruby

Glad someone else mentioned this, I didn't wanna be that guy lol. But then I'm going to completely undo that by adding that it's actually a "red herring", not haring. Etymologically speaking, it's what happens to a herring that is smoked, and they used smoked herrings to train scenting hounds. That said, great example of the difference between this narrative device and Chekhov's Gun.

Beowolf Chow

That's the thing that makes it doubtful; it's tooo obvious, so it's gotta be a fakeout, right? I've been there, reeling from repeated previous twists (No pun intended. Sorry Rem) that you're so completely wrong-footed that even the obvious seems obscure.

killilu

Luke at the beginning when you was questioning why subaru was trying to go after the cultist so bad, you gotta remember wtf bro just went through last episode, the other characters don't know the hell bro just experienced. cut him a lil slack man lmaooo

killilu

Ps when the lady asked subaru to lick her feet I deadass said "id do it" and luke immediately said "you calm down" shit had me cracking up lmaoooo insane timing

killilu

You are correct that is my bad. I didn't actually double check the spelling and my spell check did not flag it as wrong lol, i have gone back and corrected the spelling issue in my previous comment. I know the saying is based on the fish but i appreciate the explanation of where the saying comes from.

The dude with the helmet, "Al" Aldebaron,... *If* the anime hadn't skipped certain details in the episode that skipped boatloads, you would know by now he is actually from earth, just like Subaru, and that's why he treats Subaru like a bro ("brother" is a bit *too* accurate of a translation). "Should Otto be there?" The timeline of this loop *is* a little confusing. During the first part of the loop, when Subaru first met Otto, they spent several days in the capital after Subaru's new respawn point, until Ram accidentally alerted Rem to danger in Roswaal's domain. By then, the White Whale is already in place and they have to take the long way around, where Subaru finds Otto down on his luck after failing to sell his oil in the capital. In the second and third loops, Rem and Subaru set out before the White Whale appears, and the third sees them encounter Otto on the road on his way to the capital to try to sell his oil. Speaking of Otto, one of my favorite parts of this episode is how Subaru takes Anastasia's advice about "figuring out what the other side wants and dangling it in front of them" while talking with Otto and the merchants. It's that spark of, "Oh, I actually did learn something from all those failures in the capital" which shows that tiny bit of character growth with the potential to make a big difference. "Who wrote this?!" Tappei Nagatsuki. And yes, he is a sadistic sunuvabitch.

Subaru's choice of words and actions are wrongfully executed. If you're thinking, you'll know that's not the way you go about. But Subaru wasn't thinking, he's traumatized and in panic, wanting to do the right thing but wasn't right in the head. Like, when you're deep frying something and it goes wrong and there's a flame engulfing from the pot, you don't know any better and start panicking. Pours water onto the pot of oil fire but makes the situation worse lol. In hind sight, you know you're not suppose to put out the fire with water but at the time, you only know water beats fire, generally.

What? I've seen all of episodes and OVA...what interaction? Is this a manga spoiler? If so...then you spoiled something for me😑. I'm pretty sure I know what you're hinting at too...
