Yes Rudy was always around people above average. Paul and Gisliene were in the top teir of regular people. Eris eventually got above average and of course people like the dragon God are number 1. Rudy probably has more mana and talent than any in the known world. His potential ceiling is higher than anyones.

The rattling pillow, from what I understand, seems to be a pillow full of buckwheat hulls, they're supposed to be really supportive for your neck/head since they hold their shape well, they're hypoallergic and very breathable, so they stay cooler.

What Rudy did in this episode is reprehensible. But, it’s very in-line with the kind of punishment Beast-kin like Linia and Pursena had back in their home village. Linia threatened that she’d strip him naked and douse him in water which is one of the worst punishments doldia village doles out to criminals(happened to Rudy). Beast kin also determine hierarchy based on strength so Rudy demolishing them in a duel and the “punishment” that followed for wronging him cements Rudy as the “Alpha” in their pack. That’s why they suddenly defer to him and call him boss. It’s typical wolf/animal behavior because they are part beast. You also see how their attitude changes when Fitz tells them off. They were bested by Rudy, not Fitz, so they replied accordingly.

I made this statement before in Season 1 on the comments, but Rudy WORSHIPS Roxy and this episode drives home that very well when he compares his faith to her to that of the Beast Tribe and their Sacred Beast. It isn't that he's views her panties in a perverted way, but as a literal holy relic of hers to worship, just as the doll he created in her image.

And to add, everything that Hitogami told him so far has been proven to come true, so Rudeus has more reason to believe and go along with his advice. The Hitogami also assured him that Paul and others are forming a party to search for Zenith so that explains why Rudeus is not looking concerned about Zenith.

This is one of the main aspect of this arc tbh. Add in Ruijerd who is nearly a legend, Zenith who is also a very talented mage, Roxy who is king class, and all the people that Rudeus met during his journey like Gyes and Kishirika. Eris being above average is an understatement, she was easily equal to advance rank by the time she left. Even people like Soldat whom Rudeus met before coming to Ranoa were some of the best in their area. We see Cliff boasting about how talented he is for being advanced rank while Rudeus got saint rank at just age 5. So yeah the point is Rudeus is not aware how powerful he is compared to common folks because he has met way too many powerful people for comparision.

I don't think Code Geass should be a Patreon exclusive since it only has something non yt friendly in like 1 episode and it's easy to just blur out since it doesn't last that long. Also it's really long which will really suck for the majority of people who voted against it, since it will take a long time for anything else to take it's place and the 42% that voted for it is still a minority. I do think that you should watch Code Geass, but I don't think it would be good as a Patreon exclusive.

I was always a bit annoyed by the way Zenith's situation gets pushed aside like this as well, but when I think about it more it makes sense in a world like this. Travel and information spread is extremely difficult. A trip like that could take a year or longer. If he got news that a party with his father is already there, then good or bad it could take months before he hears word about how it went. He needs to be somewhere where they can get that news to him. Imagine if everything went perfect for them. He travels there and misses them by months, and can't find anyone. He doesn't know if they got out alright, or if they're all dead somewhere in the labyrinth. What on earth would he do then? Sit around a year or two there waiting to get news from home if they returned? Better to just sit tight until he hears something new.

Rudy has already been told that his mother is okay, in order to check everything with his own eyes, he needs to spend 1-2 years traveling alone on a very dangerous continent, and then if everything is okay, he should come back for 1-2 years. If everything is "not okay", then he will not help with his current strength anyway, because there is already Roxy, the queen of water, and Paul, a great swordsman, all of S rank, he is clearly superfluous there. Let's not forget that Hitogami said he would regret leaving, and so far Hitogami hasn't been wrong

I was honestly never annoyed, just was eagerly awaiting the reveal. I assumed it would be later in the season so I wasn't too bothered. Also people have mentioned it before but her glasses are a magic item, they disguise her and unlike sunglasses, you cannot see through them at all from the outside

You don't really get it right? In reality that's how presidential.... election works too. Multiple parties gets votes. TOP 2, get in finals round having a 1v1 debate and best win, and 50.1% = win. So by your logic "minority win" cuz 42%, and if we make top1 and top2 fight in finals, (like we do in real world), then Code geass will fight bocchi and still win with like 60-70% which will be majority win. Does that satisfy you? The only way you get 80% votes in a 5 way fight is if the other shows are trash, but all recommendations are GOOD AF. Even if mushoku tensei was there or attack on titan was there, it would still be minority win ._. because that's how polls work my dude. Also read comments, many people said they will vote bocchi or goblin slayer but if code geass win they will watch that cuz it's also one of the best anime out there. If that poll didn't had bocchi or goblin slayer, those ppl would've redirected their vote to code geass making it a more 'majority vote' (the more choices, the less percentage for each choice)

But as a LN reader, University arc is the, I dare say, weakest arc yet. When the show aired reddit kept it in rank #1 the entire time so get excited because the show is definitely peak and still has more to climb.

Oh remember from the first season, when rudy was prisioner of the doldia tribe, they stiped naked and splashed water on him, Thats its the "Ultimate" punishment for the Beast people. so thats why that was an option of punishment

Rudy lacks confidence in his own strength, hence why he didn't think killing the red dragon was impressive but rather said it was "already near death" and weak. He is at this point probably way stronger than Paul and certainly much stronger than Eris was last they met. Sylphie is also considered the strongest student at the school apart from him and she stands abdolutely no chance. And although he is pretty humble the major reason for his lack of confidence is his ED. Erectile disfunction. Hope that clarifies things just a bit.

Actually, they WERE bested by Fitz shortly after Ariel and company arrived at the University. It's why Ariel is considered the top student in the University prior to Rudeus showing up. Fitz being Ariel's underling translated to Ariel's ascendancy in the school hiarchy. Rudeus besting Fitz was actually fairly momentous in the story.

I mean, in a multiple-choice poll, that is more akin to ranked-choice voting. If in a poll of 5 things, one of those things gets 42%, yeah sure that means 58% do not want that thing, however it doesn't automatically mean that of the other four choices that they get any chance to win either, as the remainder votes are distributed. Now if you also want to say that #2 in the poll is what comes next after the #1 win, fine. But also I'm sure he'll just include that in the next poll with a new round of people's suggestions. Kinda wish actual democracy worked like that, where people choose who to even put up for nomination. But no, we are SHOWN people picked by the elite and say "Pick the lesser of two evils" and go from there. Sigh.

2023-11-20 14:49:46 Paul is a sword king, and a pretty strong at that. The proof is that he is as dangerous as a sword king, even when he's drunk af (showed when he was fighting with Rudeus). Eris is not far from becoming one. Plus Ruijerd is far stronger than any average sword king. In a sense, yes, they are kinda elites, but they are far far from the top. Sword King is not the last rank, there's also Sword Emperor and Sword God rank.

It’s strange why they showed the girls so aggressive then. Maybe since that wasn’t adapted into the anime they used this as a way to highlight the difference in attitude. Since they never mention being beaten by Fitz. Or perhaps it’s because Rudeus so easily demolished Fitz as well as them, they feel Fitz is no longer a threat with their “boss” there.

This was really easy to miss, when Rudy shot a dust cloud in front of Pursena's face, he did it because he recognized that she was about to shout and paralyze him just like Gyes did in season 1.

Paul's not a sword king. Hes only advanced level in sword god style. he also advanced in north god style, and water god style. that's nothing to sneeze at very impressive but, he no where near sword king in power. He admits on himself that at his best he couldn't come close to beating Ghislaine, and he's only gotten weaker since then- not seriously training for over a decade, and developing a drinking problem for a year or so will do that to you. Not to under value Paul, but he's Saint rank at best, same as Eris when Rudy last met her. If you question why Eris is saint, the sword god elevated her to that rank her first day in the sword sanctum before she did any extra training.

It's just a type of pillow they have in Japan. It was originally made with a type of mustard seed I think, though current day it's probably just made with polyester balls. Remember the Slime OVA with the giant squid monster stripping everyone naked at the lake? They were making Rimuru bean bags with those sorts of materials, basically same idea there.

Others have said enough but just want to add that Paul cuold never get above advanced rank because he is poor at understanding techniques. Till advanced rank its all about skill and training so Paul can be considered the best even among advanced ranks, but learning an actual technique like Ghislaine puts them in a different league where Paul cannot reach.

In case you didn't catch it/forgot, they've already explained that Paul and Roxy will be in the Begaritt Continent looking for Zenith. Rudy initially thought that he should join Paul but the Man God advised him not to (and so did Elinalise). That's why Rudy isn't searching for his mother right now, he decided to leave it to Paul and Roxy.

Yeah, like I believe other comments inferred, Rudy jumping up and running off to look for Zenith could be 1- a dangerous journey, and 1- too late. Paul's team could possibly get her and head to Asura or Millis, and Eudy would go to the Beraritt continent for no reason, missing them. The trip to there would be TWO YEARS LONG at least, if noone murders or kidnaps him on the way. When Hitogami says "You'll regret it," it wouldn't be difficult for anyone to believe that. Time will tell the results, but best to not place any pantsu amongst a bundle or compression about Rudy's choices. It'll just bother you needlessly.

After Dragon God Orsted, even a dragon isn’t too much for Rudy to handle. Don’t wanna give away too much for the season or the story as a whole, you have a great understanding of the story so far. As for the stripping and water, that’s how the beast people punished him in the village before putting him in jail.

Also the very real chance of just passing by them. Imagine if Rudeus spent 1-2 years to get to Begaritt. What if Zenith, Paul & the rest leave Begaritt before then and head back to Millis? Then Rudeus would have to find out they already left, then spend another 1+ years going to Millis. Oh they already started traveling back to Buena? Okay another year to Buena! Oh they decided to meet up with Rudeus in Ranoa? Well now hes going back to where he started, 4-6 years later just to catch up to them.

A funny little tidbit that wasn't elaborated on in the anime was Julie's fear of Rudeus after this event. There is a dwarf version of the boogeyman in their world that goes after naughty children by making the ground swallow up its victims, tying them up, stuffing them in a burlap sack, then dragging them back to its lair. She spent like the next few weeks convinced that Rudeus was this character.
