Woah, this was a surprise. I saw it being recommended a few times on Twitch, but didn't expect it to make it. Nevertheless, it's an incredible anime. If I would compare it to something I would say it's a bit similar to Your Lie in April. Both are beautiful anime.

Endings to March comes in like a lion as stellar as these openings, if not better. I’d even say that some of these endings songs are more popular and are more of a face of the show than OPs. A rare sight. Think: “Overlord”

How did I miss this yesterday!!!???? March comes in like a Lion is on my top 10 anime and I'm not even joking, I'm missing like 10 eps to finish it but is absolutely beautiful and for you that enjoy (and have a soft spot for) parent-children kind of story you will love this, if you get the opportunity to watch go for it, you would enjoy it. It's about this kid that is a professional Shogi player (shogi is like chess) that due to circumstances lives alone, he finds his world shaken by those 3 angels of girls that you saw on the opening and would help him along his way to get better at shogi but also to get better at everything else in life. As you said, it will absolutely crush your feels, but man it's sooo worth it. It's the type of Anime that I most enjoy and I know not everyone likes this type of stories, that's why is so unknown for you.

That reminds me..... another awesome shogi related anime (good OP/ED too but probably not as captivating) is Shion no Ou. Please check it out.

Don't sleep on the EDs either! I watched 3-gatsu no Lion subbed and also dubbed multiple times over. Such a good anime. Shafts decline in recent years makes me fear for the possibility of a 3rd season. If a manga deserves a continued anime adaptation this is one and Shaft delivered a master class for it's first 2 seasons.

I can't wait for you to react to this one. I don't usually watch slice-of-life anime, but this is a masterpiece with a lot of beautiful and relatable psychological depictions.

This is really old so I doubt anyone would see it, but just in case I wanted to point out how deeply symbolic the animation between 6:25 up to 6:37 and then all the way to 7:25 is: At 6:25 we see a couple different hands play around, they're pretending to be people walking around or simple holding hands. Both of these is a sign of family, or at least familiarity. At 6:37 we see the main character try and grasp at something, only to fall back to the movements that places a shogi piece onto the board (I only know this cause it's the same movements used to place Go stones) because that's all he really knows. At 7:25 though, he breaks through the barrier that is the bridge, which was built up during this sequence, and runs like a madman to the thing he wants. It's a beautiful 15 seconds of storytelling, it's portrayed very well
