This is the start of Arc 2 with the "Day in the Capitol" being Arc 1 the intro to the story. The arcs are longer after the first one with Season 1 covering Arc 1-3, Season 2 covers two episodes to end Arc 3 and then is a whole 23 episodes of Arc 4. When season 3 releases it will have (Rumored) 13 episodes for Arc 5 and then 25 episodes for Arc 6. Just some basic structure things for you!

Luke, only saying this because you kept repeating it lol: Beatrice isn't the best magic user in the kingdom. Ram said Roswaal was. She's quite good, but not who Rem was referring to. And just to clear it up, the twins didn't read his mind. The only one we know so far that can read minds is Puck. Subaru is just very easy to figure out by just looking at him and the twins were saying he was "violating them" because they're kind of assholes lol. Also, in terms of the cooking thing with the steamed potatoes: the one who does the cooking in the mansion is Rem (the blue hair one), not Ram (the pink haired one).

Fun point about Subaru having good video game logic, Kazuma from Konosuba also has a similar mindset. The two are very different shows, but the authors of both light novels are good friends in real life. Subaru and Kazuma are in another show together and they joke about it.

I've rewatched it so many times and read it. Keep paying attention Luke. There's so many details you only get after rewatching it's crazy and my brain trembles. Also without spoiling anything, the 6 people and Puck you've seen are the only ones in the mansion. There are no guards or other staff.

I'm glad you're enjoying the series! Re:Zero is definitely a wild ride that leaves you sitting there wondering 'what just happened' or 'what is going on' a lot! Though at least you're not watching week to week, so you can get your answers a lot sooner! This is definitely a series where you catch up with the anime, and then immediate want to start reading the Light Novel it's based on to get more content!

Luke you seem to confuse yourself every episode. Pay attention to the name Subaru gives his coming back to life effect. "Return by death" Not a spoiler cause the show has shown it multiple times already and Luke did get it at one time so I just remind him here. Subaru gets reset if he Dies. I will not tell you more details, you will have to watch and pay attention to understand it. These are not just Time loops like in Modern TV shows and movies. The most terrifying thing is, not knowing what will be permanent. As you already guessed, hitting checkpoints is a one way street, and you don't know when there is a new one or what triggers it.

Slight correction: The most powerful mage in the country is Roswaal the mansions owner and not Beatrice. Beatrice is the librarian that is contracted to watch over Roswaals very important books. Also Puck mentioned that he can "somewhat read subarus mind" and said multiple times that he cannot sense malice in subaru. The twins cannot read his mind. They were just teasing and said Subaru was violating them in his mind because Subaru made some creepy remarks about their maid uniforms etc. Also I like that you already theorize about the details and whats happening and what could happen with these in the future ^^ You will have fun with this show :D

Re:Zero likes having periods of lull and then jacking up the intensity. It stays engaging in my opinion, but you definitely get the calm before the storm in some places

That's why I think he would love watching Heavenly Delusion. One really great anime for someone who loves to solve mysteries by catching details. Especially because this particular show, shows a lot, but sometimes doesn't even tell and you have to figure it out with every details they give you.

Great time loop story is a Stargate episode 'Window of Opportunity' - best time loop story with great comedy and also the conclusion hits you. Subaru does not react realistic... He doesn't ask questions... Where the hell I am? Why I? What's the reason for the summon? He is just trying to glue himself to Emilia... He even counted with her name... that creepy He is probably too suspicious for the maison people.

If you're in the kinda situation where you've literally experienced horrifying and torturous deaths, you're gonna wanna find something, anything, to anchor your mind onto so you don't go insane. That's always been how I've seen Subaru. Someone who has been absolutely *demolished* psychologically ever since the very first day he came into the new world. Subaru literally asks all of those things right away. While they're not stated directly in the anime (though a lot of those are), they're definitely things he's trying to figure out.

I laugh every time you say "Subaru is us" honestly. He's one of my favorite representations of a nerd in a fantasy universe. He's literally just out to have fun and be goofy. Subaru also says a lot of thoughts out loud so that's why Rem and Ram said what they said, because none of those comments where internal dialogue haha. Also, they are good at calling out his facial expressions for the times he doesn't say things out loud too. FYI that Roswaal (the manor owner) is the most powerful magic user in the kingdom. He hired Betty to be the librarian/guard. And now you're understanding why we've been so excited for these reactions! Loving each of these so much! Can't wait for the next one!

This arc is where the director's cut really shines. The double length episodes really feed in to the mystery aspect and we get a lot of time to really process a lot of information given to us. Afterwards, the director's cut is pretty optional.

The Directors cut combines episodes 1a and 1b of the original together and then combines every 2 episodes into 1 (episodes 2 and 3 became 2, episodes 4 and 5 became 3, and so on), making it 13 episodes long, instead of the original 25, and fixes some issues with the original. Some scenes were redrawn for example.

I'm pretty sure that the eye rolling was originally there, but it was censored in the initial release, then uncensored in the blue ray release and then kept uncensored for the DC, rather than it being something that was added later.

For the life of me, I will never understand why the anime says "the king went into hiding." That is not and has never been what the books say. The king is dead, not missing, and everyone knows it. There is no royal family in Lugunica anymore, and everyone knows it. This is a real pet peeve of mine: there is absolutely no reason for the anime version to say that the king just went into hiding. He didn't. He died from the same pandemic as the rest of the royal family. That's why the royal selection is being held to find candidates to take the throne outside the royal family rather than a full-on manhunt for some apparently missing king. I can never resist the urge to rant about how dumb this anime-only change is every time I see it.

Okay, *now* I have watched to the end. A couple minor things. No, the twins don't read minds. Ram's just good at reading people--like body language and personality--that's all. The greatest magic user in the kingdom is not the librarian either: it's the lord of the manor, Roswaal. You misunderstood what Subaru, Puck and Beatrice were saying. And as for why things went so differently in the second time through this loop, it's because it's realistically impossible to do things the exact same way twice. Even the smallest of changes in the looper's behavior can affect the way the people around him act. Not to mention Subaru is a bad actor. Subaru knew more about the mansion and what he was trying to do the second time compared to the first after having already lived there for four days from his perspective, and it showed clearly enough that Ram took a different approach in how she treated him.

Your comment is on point. I've never seen a series that is more overhyped and overrated by people. For the argument saying that in the novel, it's more detailed, maybe but he is reacting to the anime, maybe the original story is better, but that doesn't make the anime better. Subaru is not the average gamer in another world, just compare him to any other isekai protagonist, Rudy would destroy him, even Kazuma would do much better. Likes and dislikes are subjective, but no, this is not a masterpiece and is not perfect, the protagonist is an idiot that makes the worst decisions many contraditory to his mental state.

Something you might not pick up on since you can't read Japanese, but the writing in Re:Zero's world is ENTIRELY different from Japanese, so when Ram accuses him of "doodling" in his notebook when teaching him to write, they're revealing that she can't recognize what he wrote as written language. Additionally, what he wrote in the notebook will show up later, so familiarize yourself with the shape of the characters.

To be fair, in the original LN, even Subaru wasn't sure if he actually died or not during the first time through the second loop. It happened in his sleep, so he had no memory of any pain or anything suspicious. That's part of why he resolved to do everything the same way and then stay awake all night on the fourth night during his second time through the loop: to see if something killed him or if he just automatically went back for failing to do some unknown task.

It is unfortuned that some things are lost in translation. The phrase 月が綺麗ですね (tsuki ga kirei) or 'the moon looks beautiful' is a direkt quote from japanese historic poems. it is used as subtle way to tell the listening partner that you love them. So hearing Subaru use this is also a confession in moments where he can not completly control himself.

Just a really quick language lesson from me to you, when Subaru says to Emilia “the moon is pretty out tonight” the way he said it is actually a poetic way to confess your love to someone in Japanese, that’s why he’s excited when he receives a poetic response

When it's needed I can always be present in the moment, but I always think about the future When I have the time. that's the only reason why I didn't give Re: Zero perfect 10, In his place I'd spend all my time learning about the world starting from basics (for example if his phone works physics would works almost the same as real world, etc...).
