I mean hard to say if it's gonna be worth it since it's new. I haven't read the manga, but based off the synopsis, I'm hopeful. I guess the "episode" today is actually split into 4 parts. 2 of them on are crunchyroll right now in NA.

To give a short description of the premise: Frieren takes the common japanese fantasy trope of "the hero's party goes on a quest to defeat the demon lord" and asks, "ok.. but what happens after they defeat the demon lord?" The hero Himmel and his party defeat the demon lord, go their seperate ways and eventually, Himmel dies peacefully as an old man. The story takes place 20-30 years after Himmel's death and follows the elven mage of the party, Frieren. Its a beautiful story and explores grief, love, and humanity.

Frieren is definitely worth the reaction when you get the chance. Also, on crunchyroll, instead of it being released as one long 2 hour episode its shown as 4 regular length episodes that dropped at the same time. So you could still do a normal reaction to each individual episode like you normally would without having to record a 2 hour reaction.

I Prefer the ending for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End "Anytime Anywhere" by milet, because is more emotional, and has the same vibes for the anime, you should check it out :)

The opening is nice and all but I think Yaosobi is just good not great.... This is very similar to the Idol song. I just think she is overrated like Lisa but that is just me.

That four episodes flew by in like ten minutes.. So hearing the opening four times, it’s good, I like Aideru/Idol more personally, and Mefisuto/ Mephisto even more. I also agree recommending to check out the ending, Milet shows a different side of her than in the Demon Slayer opening, if you remember that. It’s good. The characters in the show are very relatable but I especially like that the people and places are named in german. That Frieren friert is hilarious (Freezing freezes).

It's a very chill story, you'd probably really enjoy it. It would certainly be a nice break from a lot of the other battle shounen or isekai trope shows you've been watching lately

To be fair, i think this opening song don't fit so well the story of frieren... Despite being incredible (don't get me wrong, i really like it), the vocals/melody/choirs reminds me too much of oshi no ko. Maybe it's yoasobi style (i don't know much about the them) but yeah... I get that's an unpopular opinion ahah. However, the anime is absolutely magnificient! The story it tells, the pacing that match perfectly the manga (rlly slow, lot of conversations between charaters, etc), the ost that are soooo great. It's a journey about learning from each other, about relationships, distance, time flying by. The world building is nice too. I think you would like it!

I kinda wish you had incidentally waited to react when the English version came out. Once you understand the lyrics, this son gets INSANELY emotional and gorgeous. At least watch it, because that one does the lyrics in the video just like the Japanese one does. If one has seen the first episode of the anime, the OP hits like a friggin semi truck.

Only, ONLY retort I have is the topic of the lyrics themselves. YOASOBI's style is, generally, the more electro-pop-type sound, though the singer of the duo writes most of the songs around an actual character. So the lyrics when translated are from the perspective of Frieren herself. Aside from that, I mostly agree. YOASOBI is still my personal favorite Japanese musical duo, so I'm trying to be as unbiased as I possibly can XD Also apologies for being 9 months late on this, just pledged a few hours ago
