I’m completely obsessed with 86 after the last 2 episodes. Not even kidding, bought all the light novels and preordered the upcoming one almost immediately because I needed to know what happens next. Then proceeded to watch every reaction channel I could find with 86. Yours is my favorite so far because you also watched the analysis videos

Its not explained in the anime, but raiden survived because he was never in the mech, he put it on auto pilot and jumped in fido with frederica.

It was explained better in the LN when they talked about the reginleif's having a basic auto pilot function. Raiden just turned it on, started the gun and bounced over to fido. Its why he was bolting away from raiden's mech right before the morpho started blasting.

The novels are fantastic!! Honestly the relationship between shin and lena in the books... it's the most beautiful I've seen truly I love em so much

I know it may not be on the next reaction list but since you loved this anime so much, I would recommend Aldnoah Zero to you. It's got nice music and interesting twists and turns strategically, tactically, and personal intrigue worthy of a great story.

I havent read the books so I dont know if it's confirmed there, but it's heavily implied that Fido is Shin's family dog. It's likely that the dog was used as part of the first pararaid animal testing experiments before they swapped to using 86 human subjects.

I felt the same way, I haven't bought the light novels yet but I was left obsessed for more 86 content and reactions. Never been broken down by an anime like this one before. Everything about it makes me cry all over again.

Same, after I ran out of reaction channels I rewatched it 3 more times with 3 different people at different times over discord who haven’t seen it. Pulled all nighters just to finish both parts in 2 days. Still cried every freakin time

Aldnoah Zero have similiar with this 86 in music and the twist ,for battle have more strategically, tactically, & similiar epic moments in terms of battle The story not sad as 86 but i think worth it for you if you love something like 86

Glad you loved it. 86 is clearly among the greatest anime. The writing and direction (visuals and sounds) are so incredible and well done. Rich and smart. A goldmine to be analyzed in depth. And that OST... I can't wait for season 2! It's going to be a long story. This 23-episode season adapts 3 volumes of the Light Novel out of 12 currently (still on going).
