I'm someone that usually don't give much notice to studio when i watch anime, so i'm really surprise to see how many of the shows that i like watching was from Mappa. Hajime ippo, Garo & Shingeki no bahamut. I only heard mad house all the time back then so didn't take note of the rest other than toei & pierot which is notorious for fillers.

Shingeki no Bahamut is a great anime. Based on a gacha game it got a monstrous budget but suffered in the last few episodes (rushed and cygames, the gacha company, intervened with production). The sequel virgin soul is enjoyable. Idaten (number 5) is very very good. Unfortunately, the source materiel seems to have been abandoned and the anime caught up to it. Very odd that they would bother to make such a great adaptation to a dead incomplete series.

As for my top3 of Mappa would be: 1. Dororo op1 2. Rumbling 3. Idaten op1 But unfortunetly they are still not really my taste and none of them would make my top20 openings of all time, maybe one of these would slip in top30, but it's hard to tell since I never really thought about my top openings, I just know what my top1 is.

I think I mentioned it a few times before. Here on the list it was 3 times. Highly recommend to check out "Rage of Bahamut" openings/endings. (2 openings by SiM) For Zombie Land Sage I am pretty sure you didnt do it yet. But I guess the songs have Holo Live versions, so maybe you heard it there.

You should do A1-Picrutes version. They aren't the most consistent studio in anime quality, but they have the most bangers by far (SAO, Love is War, 86 etc...)

In general i don't find SiM's song and good, they could use a better vocalist, tbh. Rumbling is pretty decent song (i'd put it in the top 5 of this video), but the full version is worse, because of the electronic reggae part. Not even gonna start on the recent song from the Movie, it's the worst AoT song.

My top MAPPA song and OP is the one from Sakamichi no Apollon, which you kept dissing. Clearly our taste in music is different, lol. Of course, Apollon is a sentimental favorite of mine. It’s also a really good music anime that I think you’d enjoy.🎶

I know it's on your "to watch" list. Vinland Saga gets my vote for "MAPPA" anime's, though season one was animated by WIT Studios.

One of the reasons Sakamichi no Apollon is really good is because of the composer Yoko Kanno who created music for Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, the Macross series, and Wolf's Rain. The jazz in Sakamichi no Apollon is really good. She is absolutely skilled at Jazz even though she said she didn't like jazz anymore back in 2008 lmao.

If you like wacky and messed up shows then Kakegurui (#21 and #12, recommend you to check the endings too! ) should appear on your watch list... it's a story about a chick (busty one!) obsessed with gambling in a very unusual way... this one will make you giggle and raise your eyebrows multiple times.

12:50, I wonder if wife watches those reactions. 5th one you reacted I think in a compilation (maybe I am wrong, it's called idaten deities) edit: I think 9th and 33 will enter my playlist. As for restructuring the list..., I would add all the boring "anime-sound-like" OP to the end, and all the unique ones first. Ps: 2nd place is bias. I watched that show and it's bias af. I gave it 10/10, it's giga emotional (it's around 8.30 with objectivity), The one who made the list probably was ultra emotional he set it 2nd, cuz no way it deserve that place, it's a generic piece of music (weird enough since the anime itself is about music...)

For Studio-specifc opening rankings, it's probably most helpful to de-emphasize the music itself and focus more on how well the animation matches its timing and carries symbolism and tone. We all love the music but that's the one thing these animation studios have the least involvement with. In this context, specifically, prioritizing music is kind of like ranking a photographer's collected works by how well they had them framed or the quality of the canvas, right? Just a thought. Zankyou no terror is such a masterpiece… I don’t know why it’s so unknown nowadays, maybe because it was short, but… idk, this anime is easily one of my favorite, it’s so good. You really should react to both op and ed for this anime. You better react to the anime itself tbh, you gonna love it

You mean Ziyoou-vachi? It's the same if you google it you will see his name written in kanji 女王蜂 which translated to English literally means Queen Bee.

Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-Tachi E (AKA To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts) was an anime who's opening theme I watched by accident but really liked, sadly it's a short series but I think it would be a quick but worth it wink. My second thought to you is God of High School was a totally out of left field, out of nowhere show that even caught me off guard at how much of a banger season and opening theme it had, a definitely recommended show.

im asuming they are ranked more based on visuals than the song this time but what you heard at number 2 defo top 10 worthy just a lil lower from 2 in my opinion, also kakegurui would be amazing twitch anime to watch its has 30 ish episodes

If I had to guess, it's probably based on the number of views the Youtube music video has, rather than any vote on people's favorites. That would explain why number two was where it was despite being a less hype song. It's an older show and thus had longer to collect views than videos like Jujutsu Kaisen, and AOT. It's still a great song, but I think it would be generally accepted that those two have better openings. Most "Best of" or "Top" compilations on Youtube are probably based on this less accurate count of an opening's popularity. Lesser known shows will therefore have lesser known openings, leading fewer people to look them up and watch them on Youtube, leading to lower view counts, and thus a lower ranking in the "Top" compilations, despite still being amazing openings in and of themselves.

Jujutsu is good above Rumbling, but Dororo should been higher then both. and Chainsawman lower. That would be my choice.

The fact that there was only one Vinland Saga opening in this whole list is a travesty. River is amazing so it deserved a spot on the list but where the heck was OP1, 2, and 4? xD A show I saw in the list that I'd love to see you react to is Hajime no Ippo. One of the best sports based anime out there. I can't stand real boxing but Hajime no Ippo takes it to a different level of hype only anime can manage!

10:32 takt Op. Destiny is one of the most painfully slept on animes I can name, and the music is KILLER. That OP sends me into convulsions, and the art style and crisp animation of the show is insane. Terribly clever, funny, and heartbreaking anime.
