I absolutely think watching the live action One Piece is a fantastic way to get into One Piece. If you end up liking it (You will, they did a great job) you can always go back to the anime and start over to see what you missed, and what they added in.

I like to think the anime/manga is written as a story from the perspective of Beta which is why all the random fighters had odd names and why the bad guy was named Perv Asshat.

During the "I'm a Blind Salamander" level, Moonlight Sonata is played magnificently. I have a small note about the final episode. The moment that Cid's life flashes before his eyes, his younger self silently says something that they don't translate because it didn't have sound, but young Cid was telling current Cid not to go too far. He is either saying "Dame yo" or "Yamero" which translate to "This is bad" or "Stop" respectively. Regardless of which of the two it was, up until he had that pull on his conscience I fully believe that he was going to use "I am Atomic" and completely destroy the area. It's a moment that I really like since it shows that deep down at the core of Cid is a decent human being that just sometimes gets lost in the Eminence in Shadow fantasy that Cid is chasing.

2:28:00 I LOVE Shadow's line about "the therianthrope girl." THAT is gonna rock when it matters. 2:43:14 Remember, Luke. Although you can't see them, ALL of Shadow Garden are wearing masks. Basically, just think of the studio being to lazy to draw them, but they are there. I mean, otherwise, they are hiding nothing, and the whole show wouldn't make sense. I am still livid that they left the masks not drawn. Next season, the masks matter even more.
