You're seeing all of these pieces move and the "truth" is slowly coming to light. Unfortunately, the episodes are only going to feel shorter and shorter as they go on... Glad you are enjoying these episodes though!

One of the great things about this show is the set up and the pay off. You've spent 30+ episodes watching the set up and trying to connect threads. Get ready for the next 30 episodes of pay off, its gonna go and it's gonna go hard. I envy you being able to watch this for the first time.

Choked on my fuckin water at "he doesn't deserve a cool name like Raven; maybe like... FUCKFACE"

With the addition of the Fort Briggs element to the story, it’s become more apparent that all the major players are setting their pieces on the chess board. It’s definitely building up to future events that gives us another reason why it’s such a well liked anime.

idk why but "you might have to give her your car" made me laugh so hard 😂

The next episode is one of my favorite. Oh boy, I hope you're ready

Awe, Raven is a pretty cute name! I'm excited for this next half of the show, so many good episodes I can't wait for you to see!

anyone else just mute your TV for the first 15 seconds of a GOT upload? lmfao. The cliff hangers get worse and worse the later you go as more and more happens in a short amount of time. But this is where FMA starts to really get good

you just called it a ONE way tunnel with a CIRCULAR shape? Ummmm surely you see how that statement is contradictory right? Also Raven is his last name not his first, did I hear you say your SONs name is Raven? >.> Scar isnt getting soft. He didnt kill them because they werent state alchemists. And yes her actual name is pronounced Olivi-ay (spelled Olivier), but she wants to be masculinized (notice everyone calls her Sir) so everyone calls her Oliver

Russell Gambardella

"The guy doesn't deserve a name like Raven,...maybe like...fuckface, is better." lmao

Did anybody else check their speed settings at the beginning? I don't think I've ever heard Luke talk that fast before 😂 Also, unrelated, but I'm so glad to have caught up so I can actually make relevant comments! Also also, if you happen to read this, Luke, just keep ignoring the complainers. I once had a choir director tell me if that if I was unsure of my part, then I should sing as loudly as possible, because there's no surer way of not hitting the right notes than being half-hearted about it. That advice was tough to follow (I have the highly unfortunate combination of a soprano range and severe social anxiety) but it's stuck with me because it applies in a lot of different situations. So I love these reactions in large part because of how loudly you state your guesses and opinions (while also remaining open to revising those opinions when presented with new information). I feel kind of proud when you guess right, because Brotherhood doesn't make it easy; but I'm absolutely delighted when you guess wrong, because it makes the reveals a heck of a lot more dramatic. Either way is equally entertaining. That said, if you're interested in guessing right more often, here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. The writing in this series is efficient to the point of having almost no extraneous details, so pay attention to those seemingly random scenes because they always serve a purpose. Basically, make Chekhov's Gun your default assumption and you'll be right 99% of the time. 2. There are some exceptionally subtle plot threads/foreshadowing that even I missed on the first go-round, which leads me to believe that the viewer isn't actually meant to catch everything*. (I've actually been pretty consistently impressed with what you have managed to pick up on.) 3. Context is everything. *I just noticed how arrogant that sounds. To clarify: I can count on one hand the number of writers who've managed to surprise me with a (well-written) plot twist and still have fingers to spare. However, I also realize that this makes me a really annoying person to watch things with, so I actively work at toning it down. (Turns out that constantly blurting out predictions and then shouting "CALLED IT" when they're proved right is an excellent way to lose watch buddies. WHO'DA THUNK. 🤦‍♀️) In fairness to my very socially awkward younger self, I did spend a number of years laboring under the assumption that predicting fictional events with near-perfect accuracy was a totally normal thing that everybody could do. I am eternally grateful to the friend who gently informed me that it is, in fact, very much not normal and therefore unfair to expect of others, and also that wondering aloud how my friends could miss so many obvious clues was off-putting and made me come across as a know-it-all. Which reminds me! If any of you would-be helpers have had the patience to read this entire ridiculous wall of text (which, I mean, props to you, I am terrible at TL;DRs so you get a virtual cookie for making it this far): allow me to gently inform you that comments wondering how Luke can miss such obvious clues are off-putting and make you come across as know-it-alls. 😛
