He is an freakin mastermind who does not hestitate to get his hands dirty or to be blamed, if it helps to achieve something good in the end. Only Lelouch vi Britannia from "𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘀" is an even greater mastermind, with strategy on a world scale. But Code Geass is no Isekai, just a "slightly" different version of our modern times.

And I really just love how they designed the flying devices of each country in Saga of Tanya the Evil: - northern (scandinavian) region: ski - (french) republic: horses (they were known for their great cavalry in medieval ages) - (british) kingdom: witch brooms (well, just like in Harry Potter) - (german) empire: just really heavy tanky boots :D And the retreat is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 the one from 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗿𝗸. In Dunkirk the british expedition corps (infantry) in northern France got evacuated. But when France was occupied later, a part of the french navy fled to south to Africa, so they could regroup for a later counteroffensive together with Britain. There they destroyed/recaptured the rest of the navy that was under control by troops from the Vichy-regime, the germany-allied regime of occupied France. Thats the reference and why Tanya was so scared. Because this really happened in our history.

Oh yeah, Shiroe from Log Horizon is very intelligent. The show gets too political at times for my liking... Nevertheless, I watched all seasons which came out as they were airing one by one. “Database” lives forever . Otherwise, if I’d list Isekai MCs one by one, almost all shows have flaws and annoyances either with MCs or the stories themselves. Out of all isekai shows out there, I’m seriously ranking one light novel/show above others, and it’s “Ascendance of a Bookworm”. It’s too damn good with multiple wonderful characters and amazing world building.

There's a reason the daughter is named Mary Sue... look up TV tropes Mary Sue... Throat Mics. They have clearer sound when they have better contact with your throat and don't have problems in the wind... plus you can talk at a lower volume and still be heard.

Love Ascendance of a Bookworm, the characters and world are exceptional. Probably not a great Twitch Stream show, but definitely one of my top 5

Yes. It's not a Twitch Stream Show. As it's based on a long running light novel, it's great for weekly discussions though. The show's fan Discord server never shuts up after weekly parts translation releases and in general some folks discuss it with no end as the story/world goes. I mean, no wonder it's been so highly rated in Japanese LNs rankings for years now. Unfortunately, the story is far from mainstream, I'd say. I don't know a lot about the original idea of how author came up with it, but I think she just had this big fascination with Europe's Renaissance eras and those times Europe's culture and all the noble/high society. Oh, yeah, I bet she loves Harry Potter, too, lol. It surely was amazing discovery for someone like myself who has been following/watching anime for over 20 years. There's simply no other light novel/show like this that came out in the past 20 years, probably. Well, ok, Game of Thrones was this engaging, too :D I'm loving it.

In episode 7 of Tanya the Evil, this battle actually took place in our real life history during world war 2. Germany tried to use this tactic to invade but failed.

I agree, I can't bring myself to watch it, as soon as I focus on the anime Luke is talking some shit, or the chat is writing some shit, the anime is in the background, why watch it at all? Why can't they discuss everything between episodes? Then people who aren't interested could just skip it.

He doesn't need to focus on them. It's really on him to ignore most of it. I don't mind some small pauses every now and then or end-of-episode talks (in fact, I'd say the latter is kinda important). He actually did pretty well in the first Tanya reaction that covered the first half of the season, but for the final few episodes he did start to fall back into bad habits a bit too much again.

2023-06-01 20:12:58 he watched Steins:Gate on twitch. The last anime you should watch without 100% of your concentration. He missed so much important stuff, because of twitch chat. He doesn't even know how much he missed so he wont understand stuff and need to ask/rewatch. I was so pissed at twitch chat and him when i watched the Video on patreon and see how clueless and uninterrested he was by extrem emotional scenes or important world build scenes, I even thought how I wanted to stop watching it and stop paying for patreon, but I watched until the end and how he asked questions about things he would have seen and not missed and he stops so much and talkes about unimportant things while something special happened where he would have been hyped or emotional like he was while AOT. Its a sad thing that good but short Animes get only so much as twitch watchalong.
