Yes, 4 Notebooks, 2 in possession of Light and Misa, 1 with Mello and Ryuk's.

4 notebooks in the human world. Ryuk owns one. Light has Rem's. Misa has Ryuk's 2nd and the 4th one that Higuchi was using prior just got handed to the Goons in LA. This new shinigami is the original owner of the 2nd notebook that Ryuk tossed into the human world and Light picked up and used originally.

There are 4 notebooks. Mello has one, Light and Misa together have 2, and Ryuk is holding onto the last one. If a notebook falls into the possession of a human, a shinigami isn't allowed to take it back, and instead has to hang out with that human until that human dies and they can then pick up the ownerless notebook.

Misa is just being used... she even said at the beginning she doesnt care if he uses her... she just so mental that being around him or him talking to her is enoug for her.. thats whats in it for her lol... shes a female Simp lol

Here is a ownership change of the Notebooks: 1, Ryuk - never left his hands (owner Ryuk) 2, Rem - picked up by Light after death (owner Light) / and now the complicated ones / 3, Dead Shinigami - picked up by rem and given to Misa - than given to Light - Rem - Ryuk - Light - and back to Misa (owner Misa) 4, Ryuks "spare" - dropped and found by Light - given to Ryuk - Rem - "new Kira" in Yotsuba group - back to Light - and than to the police and in turn to Mello (Light is still the owner or he would lose his memories)

Have your theories, no issues with that. I just get annoyed when you try to question things that the show explicitly tells you is true. L having a plan is clearly entirely possible at this point.

One plot hole which wasn't explained in the anime during this episode is.. how did Mello know the names and faces of SPK agents and how did he even have information about death note. Answer is that he had a spy within SPK (the guy who killed himself with a gun), this information is only shown in manga (so it shouldn't be spoiler since it will be never explained)

that's the part where light become inconsistent. he could've just give them the notebook with two true pages, and the rest would be a normal 15 cents store bought notebook.
