About anime having large gaps between when they air, it can commonly be a lack of source material to adapt but a lot of times shows don't get renewed for another season immediately or even by the same studio. And good question, not all anime come from Manga! Slime and Overlord come from light novels which are exactly what the name implies. The manga for Overlord is actually behind the show, but the light novels are one of the best selling light novels consistently, I own all of them and they are splendid reads.

When's the next Made in Abyss reaction?

Do most anime go on long breaks? Yes, I wont deny how much it pains to me as well as most anime fans. You get used to it in a few years. Having a break of an year or two is normal for any anime. Sometimes you dont hear about a new season for many years but when a new season gets announced after many years, its a moment of celebration for the entire fan community. Most anime are produced to promote manga sales. Its not upto the studio but the manga creator and producers to announce a new season. Are all anime based on manga? Most anime are based on manga or the light novel. If there is a light novel for the series it may be preferred over the manga, and hence there may be slight variations in the anime from the manga. But there are few original anime and some anime are also based on games.

The sound on the video is to high. the bass in my speaker is getting blown.

The sad reality of anime industry is that most anime never get finished. They mostly get 1-2 seasons that serve as a giant advert for the manga/light novel. Theres also the dark truth that animators cant keep up with the deadlines and demands so production slows down alot. Sometimes a studio will have to halt anime production because their animators are working on another show. Theres ofc the other side - some anime get a second season or a reboot after 5+ years of no news which gives us hope

fr I felt like my left ear was about to pop during the first song

Some anime are anime original storie but most are based on light novels or mangas. For example reincarnated as a slime and mushoku tensei are based on light novels whereas chainsaw man is based on maga.

Callista

I really think you would enjoy Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, which is the off-season 12 episodes of Rimuru and crew kicking back and living their daily lives without conflict. It is really refreshing watching the interactions, and it is great for seeing everyone getting along.

Dethrox

still need to watch ovas (the rimuru being a teacher not cheeky ones) personally i dont really care for those :D but if you want you can.. and the movie :D

Dethrox

No pretty sure its season 2 ending first half.. Shion and Milim have pretty important roles which.. is quite abit of a spoiler.. rare to see this in endings cause they most of the time are completely unrelated to the plot of said anime

Chris

I feel people have explained pretty well why there might be gaps, but to add one thing. Some of the bigger shows also need a bit of time to animate to the quality we've come to expect from them. So after getting greenlit they might need a year or two to pre-make the main bulk of the season before airing :)

Beta Knight

Yeah I just checked, I was wrong. I just remember this song when I think of slime diaries

Callista

Yeah, it was about two years between the first two seasons, but we had the series I told you about between them to fill the gap, so I wouldn't even be surprised if they do something similar again. I really enjoyed it at any rate, and I'd recommend giving it a watch when you get a hankering for more slime. Alternately Kumo desu ga, nani ka? has a similar sort of vibe in some ways, also known as I'm a Spider, so what?

Rimuru Tempest

You should definitely check out Slime Diaries at some point. It's a sort-of spinoff following their daily lives and fun. It's 12 episodes of concentrated happiness in media form.

Michael

Reincarnated as a Slime also has a movie that I was wondering if you were going to watch

Gamefisher

Most of the time the reason for long breaks is because most of them are based on manga and anime has a tendency to catch up to the manga and need to take breaks to let it get ahead again. This is why long running anime that aren't broken into season have filler episodes that aren't in the manga and aren't really canon. Bleach for example has some filler arcs with so many episodes that when you look at it from a weekly release standpoint, it was nothing but filler for a whole year.

itaral

there will be stage for chainsaw man at mappa stage so it's going to be official soon.

Will the vod for the anime opening tier list be uploaded to Patreon/Youtube?

Cronosoul

Most anime are usually adapted from a Manga, sometimes Visual Novels, or Light Novels. There are the odd anime originals that studios make; such as Lycoris Recoil, Darling in the FranXX etc, but those are less common as there's more 'risk' with productions funding these. A well-selling Manga with an established fanbase is much easier to pitch the suits to invest cash into, as there's a better chance for good viewership out of the gate, rather than something unheard of. Animes don't often have a 'proper' ending because the Mangas/source material are still on-going, so they're almost used as ways to promote the source material- that and viewership/sales perhaps aren't good enough to warrant investing in another series. If you're coming into anime expecting most anime to have nicely wrapped up endings, I'm afraid you'll be sorely disappointed, the few that do are the exception to the rule, not the norm. The metric to keep an eye on if an anime is getting another season is BD (BluRay) sales within Japan. More BD sales = Higher chance of another season being produced.

FinalMasterM

Perfectly said. Sometimes studios are self destructive though with BD prices and it kills any chances of a second season, like Nichijou.

Cronosoul

I still feel cheated by how they left us hanging with Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka. Robbed of season 3

Yami Youssouf

season 3 is in october luke!

Aycee

I knew watching these would make you impatient for the next season. Welcome to the club lol

Aegean

You should watch this anime, its really good! :D

Slime Diaries is canon btw, no matter what the others tells you. It's just more lightly than the main show as focus in the stuff that the main one skips which could be considered slow paced or too "fun", it has a lot of info and backstories (in some events if ya' thought that some stuff went too quickly, it's because timeskip and skip in general to rush chapters). You won't see epic fighting, but you will learn their daily-doings and wholesome and funny facts about your already known characters (+ ones that has been skipped as well).
