The complaint about character development is unfortunately a side effect of the anime pacing. In the Manhwa all the characters are developed much better, but that's primarily because these little asides you get during fight scenes in the original book don't happen during fights, so all the other characters get a lot more room to breathe as they get developed as well as their relationships with Jin Woo. So once again, I would highly recommend reading the source material along with watching to show to get the full experience, otherwise you are missing out on a lot. Oh, and FYI, as hype as you're feeling now, compared to the rest of the Manhwa we're at about 4/10 hype here. And the hype meter goes up to 11/10 towards the end.

I'm so glad I can read quick so I didn't have to pause every frame to read that shit 😅

Lukes ability to ignore every single piece of information told to him is astounding

I don't know why they rushed to show us glimpses of Jeju island and S class gank. Nice class, it might rival with Ainz! Nice addition Igris and I think his introduction to his army was the most badass moment from S1 part1. Just waiting for part2. Ending is very-very good, I wonder if this will be the best ending this year. Unexpectedly, you had a lot of right assumptions this episode:)) Now go read the manhwa, it is perfect time to start it! GG for finishing another anime (even ongoing one) and don't forget: Arise!

I think it works well as it makes things feel more interconnected and not like they just wait for the mc to be ready and be completed one after another.

The problem with the criticism of "this person doesn't get any Character Development so this is a bad anime" is that the people making it seem to expect only Good Development. Jinwoo does go through Character Development, just not in a manner people would consider "Good." He's become more self-centered, more intent on gaining power, more isolated, and more secretive. But he's also become more confident, action oriented, thinks ahead and plans his next moves carefully, goes after what he wants, and takes control of situations when they go sideways. What about Jinwoo going from a good natured coward who always tries his best but is constantly under pressure from his own lack of self-esteem to a confident leader who is always pushing boundaries is "lacking Character Development?"
